Berman is so great because not only are none of his 'Bermanisms' annoying, but he doesn't overuse them
2/16/2010 6:35:41 PM
If crypt keeper is right I'll probably renounce my panthers fanhood.
2/16/2010 6:48:34 PM
Given the Panthers front office moves of the past, I can't help but feel like:45% chance Jake starts in 201035% chance Moore starts in 201020% chance FA QB starts in 20100% chance rookie QB starts in 2010

Panther fans have known that all along, but I guess the nation is just now catching onto it.We'll know by Thurs at the latest whether he'll be tagged or allowed to become an unrestricted free agent. Please don't fuck this up Panthers.
2/21/2010 7:00:11 PM
time for pep to move on. i am tired of all the drama. lets spend that money a receiver and a corner. and yes i believe matt moore can win games in the nfl.
2/21/2010 7:00:57 PM
well yea that's pretty clear
2/21/2010 10:58:04 PM
Just saw on the ticker that the Panthers are letting Peppers walk per Adam Shefter
2/22/2010 10:53:14 PM
whew good
2/22/2010 10:57:08 PM
now go get a good wide out
2/22/2010 11:02:57 PM
mixed feelings on losing Peppers. there are some key positives to this....
2/22/2010 11:39:07 PM
Will miss his occasional big plays, but letting loose of the $ he would require will require. Now maybe we can make a few moves. But will be a gap to feel on Defense. III

I was talking to a couple of guys today at physical therapy about how happy I am that Peppers is going to be gone, and they were acting like I was the only person in the world who felt that way. They think he is worth the 21.4 million he would make with the panthers next year, since he is a "pro bowler"I told them that he is good, and I would love to have him on our team, just not for that much money. Does anyone else on here actually think that he is worth 21.4 million??
2/23/2010 1:18:45 PM
HELL NO. There isn't one person in the NFL worth 21.4 million dollars.
2/23/2010 1:20:21 PM
peyton and maaaaybe brees i could see, but no one else though
2/23/2010 1:21:15 PM
I can't decide what I want to do with the Peppers bobblehead I have on my desk....
2/23/2010 1:24:32 PM
The highest paid NFL player as of 2009 according to average salary is: Julius Peppers of the Carolina Panthers who is paid 16.683 Million a year.Carson Palmer, Cin $16.166MEli Manning, NYG $15.285MNnamdi Asomugha, Oak $15.155Ben Roethlisberger, Pit $14.664MPeyton Manning, Ind. $14MThose physical therapy guys are idiots. No player is worth 21+I'm looking forward to see what kind of money he actually gets on the open market. It won't be as much as much as the media would have you believe IMO.[Edited on February 23, 2010 at 1:30 PM. Reason : .]
2/23/2010 1:30:12 PM
okay good, I felt like I was in bizarro world. Peppers has been one big headache for us for the last 3-4 years, sure he is a great player (when he wants to be) but not worth the money and trouble. I also would like to see how much money he gets paid somewhere else. I have a feeling he will wind up in New England or Oakland
2/23/2010 1:46:25 PM
if he ends up in New England, people will start saying the Pats threw the Baltimore game to be eligible to get Pep
2/23/2010 1:55:49 PM
The Pats is the name that keeps coming up it contradicts their whole "we don't overpay for guys" mantra. If that guy walked in the locker room making more than Brady, it probably wouldn't go over well with anyone including the fans.
2/23/2010 2:13:40 PM
Julius Peppers-DL-Panthers Feb. 23 - 12:39 pm et Beat writer Mike Reiss is putting the likelihood of the Patriots signing free agent Julius Peppers at "less than five percent."Reiss believes "a lot of things would have to fall into place," namely the market falling and Peppers being forced to accept a "reasonable" contract. Philadelphia is a more likely fit, with a glaring need at left defensive end. Source: ESPNBoston.com Related: Patriots, Eagles
2/23/2010 2:16:11 PM
yeah, I can't see him making even $10 mil a year if he goes there
2/23/2010 2:17:13 PM
I'm just not sure I understand this lack of effort argument, for the season the guy still gets great overall numbers, that doesn't show up argument is for players that don't get big time numbers when people think they shouldand for the love of god the guy broke his fucking hand, I haven't seen one of these critics say a word about that, it was plain obvious the guy's numbers this yr dropped off when that happened, he wasn't even playing all the snaps for fuck's sakes, if he has 13-14 sacks like he would have if that didn't happen, is everyone still whining?
2/23/2010 2:32:05 PM
$21.4 million dollars for one player is a LOOOOOOOOOOOT of money
2/23/2010 2:35:13 PM
yeshe routinely disappears for games at a timeand this is quite telling:
2/23/2010 2:39:42 PM
i'd like to see him try the NBA for a while
2/23/2010 2:56:00 PM
I heard on Frank and Buck earlier that there was an insider article involving rumblings of DeAngelo to SD.FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUWe better get more than just a first rounder if we are going to trade him!
2/26/2010 3:28:45 PM
Panthers will probably win a Super Bowl now that he's gone.
2/26/2010 3:32:45 PM
I like both Stewart and DeAngelo, but I like DeAngelo more in the passing game. I would much rather say goodbye to Stewart if we were to trade one of them.
2/26/2010 3:32:53 PM
if we trade DeAngelo its because we'd get a ridiculous return i thinkmore likely its just more of the same Cromartie for (insert running back here) that has been going around
2/26/2010 3:35:59 PM
Possibly Cromartie and 1st round pick for Williams. Cromartie had 1 really good year and has since proved he's all hype, but he'd make a good nickel corner.I'd rather him go to the Chargers than anywhere else, I could still cheer for him, but I'd rather not lose him at all.
2/26/2010 3:37:56 PM
the rumor they mentioned on Frank and Buck was Deangelo for the 28th pickand nothing elseFUCK THAT
2/26/2010 3:51:00 PM
Maybe they'd be willing to part with Jamal Williams and their first round pick? We could really use a huge, run-stuffing DT (Hollis Thomas can't go for too much longer).
2/26/2010 3:51:05 PM
^^Fuck that indeed
2/26/2010 3:51:36 PM
haha hey Ribs did you hear Buck laughing when the caller asked if San Diego would consider trading us a 1st round pick for Jake
2/26/2010 3:52:05 PM
LOL yeah I heard itThat show would melt down if we traded DeAngelo for a such shitty pick. All they ever do is bitch about the Panthers already.
2/26/2010 3:58:25 PM
I'd trade Deangelo for 28 + a 3rd rounder, but not 28 alone
2/26/2010 3:59:11 PM
Who would we get at 28 though? I'd do Deangelo for the 28th pick and V Jackson but I don't see that happening
2/26/2010 4:01:28 PM
2/26/2010 4:01:55 PM
what is all this nonsense talk
2/26/2010 4:03:20 PM
Panthers have 2 solid RBs, Chargers have none under contract.
2/26/2010 4:04:19 PM
Williams will be 27 soon. He has maybe 3 good years left. Stewart is 4 years younger and much cheaper. It makes sense to build around him.
2/26/2010 4:04:29 PM
when is the last time an "insiders" article actually had any merit?I swear they make stuff up 90% of the time
2/26/2010 4:05:49 PM
it makes sense to me to keep them both...although one of the things Buckner was speculating on was that since Big Cat is one of the more influential owners when it comes to the CBA, maybe he is anticipating what all guys to re-sign, ie Stewart, Davis, etc, and he realizes he might not be able to keep both backs in the long run...so he wants to go ahead and get something for him
2/26/2010 4:05:52 PM
why would the panthers trade deangelo, that'd be stupid. has he ever let on that he doesn't want to stay?
2/26/2010 4:07:02 PM
Its not about what he wants, its about whats best for the teamYou don't actively shop him, but if a deal comes along thats too good to turn down, you take it
2/26/2010 4:08:18 PM
When did the Panther management start doing whats best for the team
2/26/2010 4:10:24 PM
