I thought the Joanna Newsom cover was just going to be simple, but the black section in the middle was covering a photo:

^word thanks man. I've been meaning to check them out. Someone on one of the other message boards I read just told me they'd probably be something I would enjoy. They had a "what are you listening to" thread and he was telling me if I liked stuff like My Bloody Valentine, Mew, Amusement Parks on Fire, then I would really like A Sunny Day in Glasgow. Somehow I hadn't heard of them before that though.

I like it a lot, but I wish the two songs from the last 7" were also on it. I guess that's an issue between Upset the Rhythm and Thrill Jockey.

I never say this....maybe it's just the time in my life, but this album (from 2009), completed me. In some way, and I'm still trying to figure it out. I've been listening to the album over and over for 3 days.

i like the Dead Mellotron.

i dont know how to describe it other than, it has incredible dimension to it...very spacial, somewhat similar to explosions in the sky, who i love.

hahaha CTA - CHINESE DEMOCRACY amirite?

Actually, we had the entire album tracked and mixed in July except for *one* song. That song we had everything tracked except that the entirety of vocals on the song were planned to be guest singing vocals. Well...the guy we had lined up to do them got married and that kinda screwed some stuff up with his in-laws wanting him to get out of music etc. So we basically got screwed and were scrambling to find someone to fill his place. The guy who is going to do them was supposed to be doing them today, but his wife is overdue at the hospital..haha. So...they will be getting done sometime this month and it will be DONE, finally.

I think you already heard the 1-2minute mixup of a couple different parts I hosted on purevolume right?

I guess when you get home: http://www.purevolume.com/thedeadsealife
(listen to the second file, the first one got truncated during the upload somehow)

anybody like wavves? I do. Here's a band pretty much just like them...you'd ask if it was wavves at first. (another 2009, sorry)

Dead Gaze- End of days, why not you?

(I don't know how to make links, man. Otherwise I would)

the first song on that Future Islands rules pretty hard

and that newest Magnetic Fields is so far my least favorite album of the year. "We are having a hootenanny" might be the worst song ever

I liked Dum Dum Girls more when they were called the Vaselines.

I say this because of what happened with Beach House.

I recently got a hold of broken bells, ruby suns, future islands, and yukon blonde. all are very good.

I still have beach house on almost constant rotation on my record player. Can't get enough.

new Ruby Suns is pretty catchy... they've changed their sound though, reminds me of Discovery now. a lot of keyboards

The popularity of the Wavves LP really fucked up this lo-fi thing by pushing it over the edge. The Best Coast EP is so distorted you can hardly tell what's going on.
