12/18/2009 8:31:24 AM
If this interferes with graduation......
12/18/2009 8:42:16 AM
Doesnt look like its in the cards for us this time around... at least in Raleigh, we may see some snow but not a whole lot of it. If you wanna see some good snow get in your car now and start driving northwest and you will be happy.
12/18/2009 8:51:12 AM
What is it about Wake County that makes it so conducive to being on the border nearly every storm (it seems) where one county over there is snow and seemingly always 33-35 and rain here. I swear this happens twice a month in the winter...
12/18/2009 8:54:15 AM
Orange county is closing their schools early today
12/18/2009 8:58:20 AM
^^same thing happens with thunderstorms that magically split apart around raleigh then reform in knightdale...the city is just retarded somehow
12/18/2009 9:00:27 AM
^^ haha, they did that last night at like 7pm before anyone had any clue how far east there would be snow. I saw it and mentioned it to Tim...
12/18/2009 9:01:32 AM
UPDATE from our resident weather homey
12/18/2009 9:05:38 AM
Im hoping my boss hasnt looked at the forecast and maybe just maybe if it starts snowing early enough and we get some accumulation he will just tell us to take off early today... thats about all I have to look forward to today
12/18/2009 9:18:20 AM
I have nothing to do at work today, I hope something falls from the sky and gives me an excuse to leave early.
12/18/2009 9:21:14 AM
The Iranian dude that owns the convenient store on the corner just predicted 8 inches of snow. I trust him, because he gives me free dip on occasion.
12/18/2009 9:36:24 AM

12/18/2009 2:32:58 PM
^^^ Precip will start again around 3:30 or so... don't know if it'll be rain or snow. NWS seems to still be leaning more towards the snow/winter mix side and TWC is all about A LOT of rain... Probably somewhere in b/t.[Edited on December 18, 2009 at 2:34 PM. Reason : x]
12/18/2009 2:34:42 PM
^our weather guy says the fun will start back up again just in time for the drive home [Edited on December 18, 2009 at 2:35 PM. Reason : .]
12/18/2009 2:35:04 PM
so are the models saying that this warm trough of air is going to track more easterly or more westerly? evidently this will heavily impact the amount of snow vs. rain that we get.
12/18/2009 2:40:56 PM
so it wouldn't be a good idea to drive to Asheville from Fayetteville tonight?
12/18/2009 2:56:54 PM
It's snowing pretty hard here in the G-Spot. Accumulating on the roads
12/18/2009 3:52:26 PM
So basically its not a good idea to drive from Raleigh to Boone tomorrow morning?
12/18/2009 3:57:41 PM
TWW Weather reporting LIVE from West Wendover Ave, in Greensboro:
12/18/2009 3:59:47 PM
Boone was looking at multiple feet last I heard
12/18/2009 4:00:15 PM
12/18/2009 4:09:19 PM
So can I drive tonight to Raleigh from Greenville or no?
12/18/2009 4:15:39 PM
so whens the cold rain gonna start? once again, we'll get fucked out of snow.
12/18/2009 5:21:58 PM
Well, I drove down from NOVA. Left at 10am, about 2 and a half hours into my drive it started snowing, was easy driving though. Heaviest was when I crossed into NC. It snowed a good amount until I got further S then it turned into the ice/sleet. I am glad it was snow most of the way...kinda sad that I will not see the huge snow. They are saying 10-20 inches for NOVA, last time I experienced a snow that big was in college at NCSU.
12/18/2009 5:35:50 PM
started snowing again heavy in fuquay, only lasted 10 minutes...now we have a rain with some sleet mixed in
12/18/2009 5:43:39 PM
Yeah seems like blowing sleet here at my place, my cat is freaking from the sound of it hitting the windown
12/18/2009 6:33:46 PM
Damnit, this snow is bigger than the Raleigh Blizzard, now the place that I live at in NOVA is under a blizzard warning, all the traffic cams no longer work....but I would of been stuck for days and days before I could drive home. I will probably see the leftovers when I drive back after New Years. I go through where the heaviest accumluations have occurred. This might be the second all time snowfall for that area.
12/19/2009 12:56:52 PM
flew into Dulles last night. holy shit were we lucky.
12/19/2009 12:58:05 PM
wtf there aint shit in raleigh!?!
12/19/2009 5:22:11 PM
yea pretty much raleigh/cary got jipped. i was looking at traffic camears for gboro/high point area earlier and they got quite a bit it looked like
12/19/2009 5:34:36 PM
Sorry that you cats in Raleigh got hosed.I had a hell of a time yesterday evening around 5:30 driving from Burlington to Greensboro and back. I only lost control of the truck once near downtown GSO where the streets were completely covered (so was the highway but there were at least ruts and tracks to follow). It changed over to sleet far sooner than they were calling for and when I took her back home around midnight is was just rain and most of the yahoos were off of the road. We saw about a dozen wrecks and about 4 as they happened. It was rather intense but it was well worth it for an evening of homemade lasagna and movie watching.
12/19/2009 6:07:44 PM
