so much for NCSU fans acting like a "pack of wolves"

If we were a successful program then our stadium and home field advantage would be the talk of the town for this game. It's all relative. I used to love football because I didn't feel like there was as much media spin and all that as other sports. I still love football but it's just like anything else as far as media goes. Announcers talk out of their ass and contradict themselves week in and week out in order to save face. I'm think about muting the tv permanently during football season from now on.
9/25/2009 12:35:21 AM
i read that whole chat transcript from the Post-Gazette dude.Observations: I wish NCSTATE was more isolated from the other schools just because we don't have any true media bias homers covering us like some of these teams do. Columbus OH, is tOSU, Just about the entire state of Georgia's newspapers homer it up for UGA. That pittsburgh writer is such a homer for the Panthers and it was kind of cool. Lot of lockerroom material in that chat transcript. He totally disrespected us. Now i really want to win this game. Shit is on!We've got Tysiac who basically badgers the hell out of TOB, JP Giglio who wants to appear unbiased so he busts us everytime he can, the only one who consistenly likes us is Tudor of all people.

A ton of people think C-F is tough. I remember a few years ago, this prior to the NEZ enclosure mind you, that they asked the ACC players about some of the toughest places to play and two Clemson players (one defensive and one offensive) cited C-F as one of the tougher places in the league. The defensive player said something to the effect of how the first down chant got on their nerves and in their head b/c it reminded them of how they had just messed up.Also I remember during last year's WF game the ESPNU announcers were talking about how many regarded C-F as one of the toughest places to play in the ACC and that it was underrated nationally.
9/25/2009 1:12:31 AM
unrelated (kinda), but tyler hansbrough said we were the meanest fans
9/25/2009 1:20:07 AM
I will wear that badge proudly. I remember yelling something to Josh McRoberts right when he got the ball to shoot a free throw (I think I called him the biggest douche in the world or something to that effect). The look on his face was priceless, and everyone in the section was their heads off. The State players even grinned a little bit. McRoberts proceeded to brick the FT. It didn't matter too much though b/c we got destroyed. As long as you keep it quick, to the point, and occasionally witty, then I have no problem with it. I do have a problem with fans that take it overboard. During one bball game against a cupcake, there was this one obnoxious guy in the section that yelled something about an opposing player's mother being the ugliest whore in the world. Everyone in the section was like "dude that's not cool". Thankfully the usher came right over and told him to cut that kind of shit out or he would have to leave.
9/25/2009 1:35:57 AM
Since the topic has steered toward obnoxious fans, I thought this would be a good point to make my first post. During the UNC-CH bball game two years ago, a friend and I were sitting next to the tunnel where the powder fairies were set to prance onto the court. We had a bet whether or not I could get hansblow's attention. As he ran out I leaned over the railing and yelled, " I hope your children are born without eyelids!" I know I'm "that guy" but his reaction was priceless. Similar to the reactions gorillas have when you get too close to the glass at the zoo. Lot's of rage, but no real threat.Won. The. Bet.
9/25/2009 2:02:03 AM
Wait are you sure that wasn't the 2006 game? Because I remember in 2006 seeing a guy do something like that after shoot arounds and Hansbrough's reaction was hilarious. He was like

I wish a motherfucker WOULD try and get me to sit down during the Pittsburgh game in section 222 come Saturday!! After paying all of that god damn $$ for season tickets, and someone telling me to sit down. I WISH a motherfucker WOULD tell me to sit down!!
9/25/2009 3:09:54 AM
If alums are too old, crusty, and liquored up to get their old asses up and yell they should just STAY THE FUCK HOME and give their seat up to someone who is going to stand up, yell, be hoarse by the end of halftime! The game this wknd is going to be HUGE in terms of national image for our program, sending a message out to the 'ACC powers thus far'(you know the four im referring too).... That's what I have always loved about goign to Carter finley even the bulk of the old alums/fans get up holler, curse at the officials, boo with the students....so GOD forbid some uppity family is sitting behind or beside me come game time!! GO PACK!!

Since the topic has steered toward obnoxious fans...It was great a couple years ago making fun of Tarver with GT. I was right near midcourt as he was checking in and I yelled at him asking what 2+2 is. He turned around puzzled and held up 4 fingers and everyone laughed that he actually responded. (he had been declared academically ineligible for the season and the decision was reversed a couple days before our game)that was the game where paul hewitt was drawing up a play on the white board and someone asked if Tarver could even understand what he was writing. Hewitt turned around and yelled "FUCK YOU, THAT'S CLASSLESS" and proceeded with several obscenities toward the student section. That's our job, getting into the players and coach's headsAnd CF is definitely one of the toughest places to play in the ACC. I've been to most all the stadiums and here's my list by difficulty (for football):1. FSU2. Clemson3. VT4. NCSU5. GT6. UNC7. Wake Forest8. Miami9. UVa10. Maryland11. Boston College12. Duke*have not been to UVA, BC or Miami, they are guesses based on stadium type and fanbase
9/25/2009 4:25:26 AM
UVA, when the Cavs are competitive, is better than WF and Miami (now that they've moved out of the OB).I think C-F is definitely #4. Lane isn't really all that much louder, in fact I've heard C-F be louder than Lane, and that was prior to the NEZ addition. Now I was at Lane for a day game, so that might have one aspect, but the game came down to the wire. The thing about Lane that it has over Death Valley and Doak-Campbell is that it is more consistently louder, but those two can get louder. Any combination of Lane, Death Valley, and Doak-Campbell in the 1-3 positions is acceptable.

DVR it and pause it for 15 seconds (usually the delay) and then press play[/genius]

Guess I finally need to by a DVR. College football is the only thing that drives entertainment center upgrades in my house.[Edited on September 25, 2009 at 8:19 AM. Reason : -]

I see this being a great game or an epic fail on our part.My parents are coming and they have not attended a NC State win in 5 years. I might just tell them to stay at home because of the RAIN.

i remember being at a Wake bball game when Dave Odom was still coaching them...he was wearing some goldish-colored sport coat, and we were sitting down low behind the basket right near the entrance to the Wake lockerroom tunnel...when they're going into halftime, my buddy is all like "IT LOOKS LIKE SOMEBODY PUKED ON YOUR JACKET" and Odom just busted some big ass grin on his face as if he was like "yeah this jacket is pretty obscene looking isnt it"i remember going to a Wake bball game AT WAKE...this was late in the year during Grant's junior year I think, when he balled out for like 20+ points in the last couple games of the season...I think Eric Williams had a big game...but the Wake crowd got their "if you can't go to to college go to state" chants going, and something about jingling their car keys and "start your tractors" or something...they were relatively mild though[Edited on September 25, 2009 at 11:16 AM. so is it really going to rain tomorrow? forecast says yes... radar doesn't seem to match up though... unless things really do start develop as is being predicted. I hope it doesn't
9/25/2009 12:02:23 PM
Should be patchy showers off and on throughout the day, heavier stuff should start later Saturday night, and hopefully be clear for Sunday.

I will be in Myrtle Beach off shoring fishing on a boat (against my will). What's the best iPhone app for college football games?
9/25/2009 1:06:38 PM
the best one I use is called "College Football"it's an espnU logo for the icon in the appstore. it's free. there might be a decent pay one out there. not sure yet.
9/25/2009 1:17:55 PM
Score Mobile is a great free app available for both iPhones and Blackberrieshttp://www.thescore.com/scoremobile/Its free, and it constantly updates scores and stats from a bunch of differents sports and leagues
9/25/2009 1:56:14 PM
^ yeah, I use that one. Has the spread and O/U for each game, injuries(not 100% accurate), preview and up-to date drive info during a game.

if you can listen to the radio broadcast on your PC then they make free programs to download that will delay the stream by however many seconds you tell it to. Personally I have done it with a tv tuner on my pc that also had an FM tuner

9/25/2009 3:25:27 PM
Sportacular is the sports app i've always used for the iPhone, works really well
9/25/2009 3:35:28 PM
if we can't catch a pass when it's dry vs. S Carolina, what makes me think we'll catch one when it's raining tomorrow????i can see this being our USF blowout from last year at this point. in my mind this is not panning out well
9/25/2009 3:44:13 PM
i use sportacular as well. best part is you can customize push notifications for when the score changes, end of quarters, final score, etc
9/25/2009 3:45:12 PM
^^ so what you're saying is that our receivers can only catch when we play a lower tier team?they suddenly develop butterfingers when playing BCS schools?please.
9/25/2009 4:35:43 PM
what about lower tier teams????????????///
9/25/2009 4:37:16 PM
besides, watching TV with an additional 15 seconds of a delay would mean that you couldn't possibly be the first to react in a game thread
