10/8/2009 9:52:09 PM
Omg shoes, I heart that beer. It's hella potent. Then again pretty much anything dogfishhead (other that festina peche) is potent. I want to drink w/you someday.

^^^The Wolavers Oatmeal Stout is wonderful. Pours very dark. Has a very nice taste: roasted malt, cofee, and hints of chocolate and smoke. Goes down very smooth, hardly any bitterness or aftertaste. Very little carbonation. Has a great consistency, not too thick and not too watery. No problem to throw back several of these without feeling too full. I'd definitely recommend it. I'm gonna try and find some Weyerbacher again tomorrow though.
10/9/2009 3:47:03 AM
They've got Bell's Expedition Stout at the Times again. 10.5%. Yowza it's good.
10/9/2009 3:52:51 AM
I got a 4-pack of Dogfish Head Punkin Ale the other night, and I have to say, I like Cottonwood's Pumpkin Ale a lot better. I wasn't thrilled with paying $8.99 for a 4 pack either.
10/9/2009 4:11:55 AM
I've been thinking about trying Cottonwood pumpkin.

Founders Harvest Ale is out, and it's pretty awesome. Definitely worth seeking out if you enjoy hoppy beers.[Edited on October 16, 2009 at 3:45 PM. Reason : .]

just splurged and spent 15 on a 12 pack of hoptoberits the only thing i'm looking forward to this weekend
10/16/2009 3:49:52 PM
This stuff is really good
10/16/2009 7:12:16 PM
yes it is. i love that stuff.
10/16/2009 7:51:37 PM
Unless they've changed a lot over the last decade I can't really stand Highland's beers.
10/16/2009 7:53:00 PM
Have you had the oatmeal porter?I didn't like the gaelic ale much, but the oatmeal is incredible.
10/16/2009 7:56:42 PM
Yup, and I usually love porters and stouts. I used to live right outside of asheville so i've had most of Highland's beers. Something about that oatmeal porter just tastes awful to me.
10/16/2009 7:59:19 PM
No Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin at Whole Foods. I'll probably swing by total wine tomorrow and see if they have it (last time they were out).
10/16/2009 8:50:16 PM
went to a pretty sweet bar near campus at psu, and they actually had victory hop devil on cask oh my god
10/25/2009 8:05:39 PM

10/31/2009 5:48:25 PM
made my own six pack at total wine, got the following lineup:Ommegang Abbey AleStoudts Fat DogTen Pin PorterSun Dog amber alePost Road pumpkin aleVitory Golden Monkeyfinished the Fat Dog and wasnt too impressed, it was an oatmeal stout and was a little too bitter for my taste. Halfway through the ommegang, and it is definitely interesting, dont think I could drink a sixer of it, but one beer isnt bad, very fruity and flavorful.I also got a sixpack of my new favorite beer: Widmer's Drop Top Amber Ale, sooo damn good. It's like a Fat Tire but with more flavor, delicious.
10/31/2009 6:01:24 PM
^^ Is also from a Total Wine sixer. I always eye the Ten Pin Porter when I'm in there, but never pull the trigger. Let me know how it turns out.
10/31/2009 6:06:46 PM
yeah I'll probably have that next, I love a good porterright now I really love that Kona Pipeline Porter as a good "everyday" porter to drink
10/31/2009 6:08:07 PM
not super impressed with the Ten Pin Porter. It might be a weird bottle, but it is very carbonated/bubbly. It's almost like drinking a soda, but once I get past the bubbles the taste is pretty good. I like the pipeline porter betterIts almost like the bottle was shaken or partially frozen, but its just been sitting in the fridge like the rest of my beers (which have all been fine). Dunno, weird
10/31/2009 8:09:53 PM
Got the last two six packs of this today:
11/1/2009 4:31:35 PM
Mother-fuckin-yum!!Just got a growler full of this at the Charleston Beer Exchange. One of the best beers I think I've ever had. I'm always wary of the beers are that double digits in ABV, as American Breweries don't hide the strong alcohol taste that much...but you can barely tell with this one. Fucking delicious. Also picked up these following beers, but have yet to crack them open until I finish off the rest of the growler of Odyssey this weekend:(this is an old picture...this year's is "Mogul Madness" instead of just "mogul ale")
11/5/2009 12:16:07 PM
^Odyssey is an excellent beer, probably my favorite from Allagash. That Yorkshire Stingo is pretty expensive as I recall, I couldn't bring myself to shell out $13 for a toffee bomb.
11/5/2009 1:38:23 PM
It's baaaaaccckkkk! WOO WOO!
11/5/2009 1:44:47 PM
^^Yeah...it's $12...but I love Sammy Smith, and this is the only one I haven't tried yet. I was on a small beer buying spree...so I said "fuck it" and got it anyways.
11/5/2009 1:58:11 PM
i wants me some wheat beeeeer
11/5/2009 2:15:29 PM
I love coffee beers!! And this one is ridiculous:Just got a growler of it at the local Beer Exchange. If you're in Raleigh, I think they have it at the Flying Saucer right now.
11/11/2009 11:02:26 AM
Why did they name it after a turtle yet have a cow on the label
11/11/2009 11:03:37 AM
11/11/2009 11:05:30 AM
^^Terrapin is the brewery homie.
11/11/2009 11:06:42 AM
I get that, but you don't need a cow to convey milkYou don't see every beer with honey in the name have a swarm of bees on the bottoleIts just a little confusing is all, no big deal
11/11/2009 11:06:51 AM
what
11/11/2009 11:09:28 AM
Terrapin is known for their wacky labels. I think their label artists do a decent amount of drugs before/while coming up with their designs.
11/11/2009 11:09:42 AM
Its a cool looking labelAfter some research, it seems they like to include an actual image of the turtle on most of their labels, so kudos for at least abstaining from that with this one
11/11/2009 11:14:21 AM
have any of yall tried the double dead guy ale yet?saw it at the likkah sto last night but didnt pick it up.
11/11/2009 11:14:31 AM
11/11/2009 11:16:11 AM
11/11/2009 11:21:31 AM
oh damn, I have not had double dead guy yet but I need to, I just picked up one of Stone's Double Bastard though which should be good
11/11/2009 11:28:05 AM
interesting. i didn't know there was a double bastard. i'll certainly check that out. where did you get it?[Edited on November 11, 2009 at 11:40 AM. Reason : get]
11/11/2009 11:39:54 AM

11/11/2009 11:46:11 AM
