Dexter will kill Trinity, but after Trinity threatens Dex's family and possibly kills Rita or Cody(due to his need to kill a young child to start his cycle)

I HOPE Deb inds out about Dex b/c that will add a dynamic from now on that would be tense and unparalleled.

and this is my first t dub post in about 5 years...go me

Deb is just yuck. She isn't pretty. She has no tits, no hips, no ass. She's basically just a stick with a mouth. I don't understand what MCH sees in her.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Dexter is storing his stuff in the same shipping container that his mother was sliced up in? Is it still in the same location as it was in season one? They have never explained why it has just been sitting there for 30 years, have they? If so my thought is that Deb might find it. Previews show her asking Dexter if his mother's name means anything to him. It would make sense why they brought up the ice truck killer again for the first time since the first episode of this season (I think) if she ends up finding out about everything from season one.

that was an amazing penultimate episode

i'm cised for next week. can't wait.

and no, i'm not even going to begin to speculate for next week's finale. i have no idea.

But deb is cute enough. it's her mouth and propensity for screwing every single guy on that show that pisses me off.

i wont spoil it in case anyone still has yet to watch their DVR but I can't believe I was right for once (go one page back), I'm glad I didn't stick around for the previews this time because I really just watched the whole episode waiting for proof that my hunch was right, from now on i want to be surprised.

they are the master's at cutting video...nothing happened in this episode like what I thought would happen...now these previews make it seem like maybe dexter will be found out and possibly arrested...???

no, i think he's just using "a" storage container, not "the" storage container. It's a convenient place for him to store stuff, and he just mentioned it was a bit poetic seeing as what his past was with storage containers.

but anyway, amazing episode. The final few scenes were the most suspenseful TV I've seen in a long time. Had my jaw dropped and heart beating for a long time there.
But Trinity following Dexter out of the arcade brings up another nit-pick for me, in that Dexter seems to get away with a lot of sloppy work, where you think someone would see him eventually. He's constantly breaking into houses and apartments without any notice, and even killing people right in a truck stop 20 feet from a hot-dog stand, then just jumping out of the truck wearing gloves and slinking away. But I guess it did finally bite him in the ass when he walked around the arcade, talking on his phone, like a dipshit, just begging to be spotted.

on a completely unrelated, kind of weird side note.... I watched that episode earlier tonight (evening of Dec 7th), which marked the end a very good 30th birthday for me. A friend I haven't talked to in years called up out of the blue to wish happy birthday about 10 minutes after the episode was done, and I mentioned I just watched Dexter. He said something about having the hots for Deb, but neither of us could remember her name, so I looked her up on IMDB for the first time, and it turns out December 7, 1979 is her birthday too! too weird... not only having the same b-day, but looking her up on IMDB for a completely different reason, and finding it was her birthday that day

yeah, broad daylight at a truckstop, wtf? surely there are security cameras around there they would have checked... it would be pretty suspicious to find him around

It's not a nit-pick.

because i notice this shit too. I don't try to overanalyze every show the way you do, I just enjoy TV as mindless entertainment, so when I do pick up on shit like that, it's generally pretty obvious.

He's been increasingly sloppy throughout the season, mainly due to his new family obligations. It's bound to catch up with him eventually, it's just a matter of how he's going to get out of it.

seriously? maybe its bc its the first time i've watched a season 4 ep alone but i didn't think it was the best episode

it didnt have the suspense i anticipated. i mean, arthur rolling into the station at the end was stressful, but dexter is our main character... it cant be too much of a shit storm

now that i've thought about the episode, i'm kind of curious why Arthur was so cool and comfortable walking around the station, and especially confronting Dexter like nothing was up. We, the audience, knew that Dexter wouldn't rat him out, because he is going to kill him. But Arthur doesn't know this - as far as he knows, Kyle/Dexter could just point and say "this is Trinity!" and they'd drag him off in handcuffs. As soon as Arthur saw Dexter go into the police station carrying boxes and files, I would figure his first thought should be "damn, he's undercover - they're on to me. i'd better get out of here."

he saw them on the news claiming to have identified the Trinity Killer - and it wasn't him. then he saw the board with all the pictures of his crimes - and a big mugshot of the guy they thought did it. so i'm guessing Trinity was just confident he'd gotten away with it, so he didn't care.

i wonder how Trinity will react when he finds out his daughter offed herself?

Trinity has no reason to believe Dexter knows he is Trinity. As such, all Trinity knows is that Dexter has him on kidnapping and attempted murder, but didn't turn him in...presumably for blackmail, he was told.

^ actually when arthur was looking at the board in the station that had all his murders on it, when he got to the suspect he realized it wasn't him and made a comment (escapes me now) that "kyle" did him a favor by not naming him since i think he knew at that point that kyle/dex had already put it together

hm i took it as arthur acknowledging that kyle/dex did him a service

since arthur now knows hes associated with the police department and didnt go to the police about the missing boy. also arthur is totally not buying this attempt at money

i guess we'll find out more in the season finale!

i was watching the end of season 3 and the first few of 4 with a friend over the weekend (im catching her up) and you do notice a lot more things, only because you know where the story is going

i had totally forgottten about IA looking into quinn and deb shutting them down. we learned a little about why IA was interested but given quinn's theft at the hotel crime scene and his involvement with reporter chick, he doesn't exactly have the best judgement. im not sure if he'll get offed in the final episode or not

i have this big feeling the deb is going to be forced to find out ab dex. if not in the season finale then next season. if you havent watched the previews for the last ep do not read this part

SPOILER
deb confronts dex and says that laura moser was his mother, she finds that part out, shes going to find more or dex is going to have to tell her more

END SPOILER
so i think for dex to get away with more, deb will have to find out. i dont think she'll like it but she'll learn to accept it, maybe if dex can protect her somehow by doing it. i think the only way dex can balance his work life home life and serial killer life is with help from someone he doesn't want to kill. his secret clearly weighs on him as the demands of his life increase. deb would be a perfect outlet, she can relieve pressure at home, back up his weird stories to rita and cover for him at work. thats just how i see it going, i could be wrong of course since its just speculation

ANOTHER SPOILER... BOOK SPOILER

in the books, if anyone has read them (anyone besides me?) deb finds out dex is a serial killer in the first book. she really struggles with it but comes to terms. the show follows a very close relation to the story in some ways. character names are the same and events from the book have pieces in the show. for example in the last book (dexter by design) deb is injured while trying to track down leads on the vacation murderer (way more developed in the book than the show). she gets stabbed and she lets dex go after who they think did it, turns out it wasnt that easy. in the book there is no trinity killer and no reporter so i have no idea how the season will end but the vacation murder angle of the book is actually really interesting, imo

scratch that, i just watched a clip from next week's show.

looks like deb knows that dexter was one of Laura Moser's two sons. the question is - does she know the Ice Truck Killer was the other little boy?

OOH OOH

SPOILER

from my favorite spoiler, Mr. Ausiello from EW's Ausiello Files

Question: Please tell me something about the Dexter finale!

Ausiello: I’ll let Courtney Ford (a.k.a. Trinity’s damaged journalist daughter Christine) do the honors since she actually read the script. “The finale definitely has a huge twist,” she told us at Monday’s Lovely Bones premiere in Hollywood. “It is a game-changer if you’re a Dexter fan. Fans are going to freak out. We freaked out when we were finally made aware of what was going to happen. They kept us in the dark about what was going to happen until the last possible moment. Initially, they even gave us a script that wasn’t the real finale script. I read it and I was like, ‘This is a little weird, but, okay, they know what they’re doing.’ And then I realized everyone else was kind of thinking that as well. Then it came time to film it and they said they had changes and we were given a few pages every day… only the ones we needed that day, so it kept us in suspense. It is a terrifying way to work because you don’t know where your character is headed.” Wait a second. I was under the impression that her character was headed to the land of fire and brimstone after committing suicide last Sunday. But Ford is talking as if she played a role in the finale. Maybe she appears in a flashback. Or as a ghost. Or maybe she’s the game-changing twist. Dammit, Sunday, get here already!

maybe she didnt die? people shoot themselves in the head and dont die sometimes although im not sure why they'd keep her around

big twist huh? maybe trinity will continue to play a role. lithgow has done an amazing job and im almost sad to see him go at the end, maybe he wont

maybe its dexters father? who knows... i mean do we even know who dexters father is? it wasn't made clear. and yes i think deb will find out that the ice truck killer is dexters biological brother and that may play into deb finding out ab dex.. maybe that is the big twist

ah jesus who knows. but in the past the show has done a good job of wrapping up the season kind of nicely not leaving us hanging on a storyline. i dont think we'll get a cliffhanger but a twist, a game changer, that could be a cliffhanger in another way like where the fuck is the show going to go if THAT just happened kind of thing.

and i am SOOOO glad more people have gotten into this. i've been in for about 2 years i think and the more people into it, the more seasons they'll order. as long as the quality stays up im all for a lot of seasons.

We find out who Dex's dad is season one. He's pretty much some small-time crook and lived on his own a few hours out of Miami for years. The Ice Truck Killer found him and killed him...probably doctored his will to put Dexter as the recipient of his house.

There's a whole episode where all they do is clean the place. Its the first time that Dexter meets his bro (doesn't know that at the time obviously). There are several "flashbacks" of a young dexter looking at the spiderweb tattoo on his dad's elbow while riding in a car. Plus he has vince do a blood screen and the DNA matches....so yeah

Whats the deal with all the Deb hate? I happen to find her pretty attractive, other than the lack of boobs. Sure, she isn't "Hollywood hot" But I still find her pretty hot. Her attitude is also cool as shit to me.

but rita was married before paul, for 6 months. remember the note from ritas mom "3rd times a charm" and dex looked into the system and she was married for 6 months, forget the dudes name. i was just wondering if that would turn into anything or if the writers just want us to know that rita has some skeletons too
