nah, we rarely eat in our cars. we just like the black better than the beige that comes with white 95% of the time on the TLs. the beige makes it look like an old lady car or something.

it's certified pre-owned, so it has bumper to bumper until 2011 or 62,000 miles and powertrain to 2013 or 100,000. car hit 40,000 miles on the way from charlotte to goldsboro.

they wanted about $1000 to extend the bumper to bumper to 2013 or 100,000 and we turned it down. it might bite me in the ass if something goes wrong w/ that navigation system. he said he was giving her a $500 discount on it b/c she works for BB&T, but i think it was bullshit. anyone know how much that extended warranty usually costs from acura?

so the day after we got the car, i opened the hood to show my grandaddy the engine and noticed that they didn't put the big plastic battery cover back on. they usually keep them off on the lot b/c the batteries are dying so much and i should've thought to check before we drove off with it. anyway, my gf called the salesman on monday, he said he'd ship her one, and she got it yesterday. i was impressed because i thought it was gonna be a big hassle.

this wasn't one of those plastic things that just goes around the battery, it was a huge thing that covered more than just the battery. it's the thing on the right in this pic w/ the hole in it.

true i just like to look at the fluids every other week or so and dont want to have to get dirty taking plastic clips off, but it is nice and clean looking that way.

yeah, i guess you're more likely to check the shit if it's easier to do it, but those covers pop right off in a couple seconds. it has separate small covers for the brake fluid and PS fluid too, i believe (up there in the top right of the picture).

In general, I think plastic covers in the engine bay are gay. The only reason you're gonna open up the hood is to inspect something or work on something. So why add an extra step of removing some bullshit that has no purpose.

(though i realize occasionally these parts are designed to reduce NVH).
