29,000 miles on a 2004? damn...I have 70,000 miles and mines a 2006. Although I don't think about or care about resale value since I didn't buy the car for any reason other than to drive the shit out of it and get my money's worth in fun.

^it realy seems like a lot of the ones that are for sale have very low miles. there is also a red 03 in VA with 29k as well, $16,000 firm. going by that you'd think it'd be easy to find an 03 with 60-80k for <$15,000
7/22/2009 2:52:23 PM
At under $15k it'd be very tempting, an EVO is a lot of car... I wonder if rarity is playing into resale --> I wonder which way the EVO will go, I can see it being like an e30 M3 is today in 10 years, or going the DSM way.[Edited on July 22, 2009 at 3:06 PM. I don't think it'll go the way of E30s, because Mitsubishis don't have the country club and yuppy appeal BMWs did in the late eighties/early nighties. Who knows?

^^^Ahmet...I found you a few 2003 Evo VIII's that were in the 13k range back in the day when you wanted me to look for one for you...and you never pounced on it
7/22/2009 4:00:01 PM
^find me one!
7/22/2009 4:00:23 PM
But aren't you glad I never did, I mean w/the M3 my leather seats were hand stitched by bavarian virgins, and my engine was masterfully crafted by Hanz and Franz by hand, ja.

an evo for 13k is appealing....... about as far as I will go on a 'lancer'

murder a 240hp NA I4YOU DONT SAY
7/22/2009 8:59:37 PM
well, it's only 31-46 hp short, and probably 400 lbs lighter. Evo probably does make significantly more area under the curve, but mostly it's that the Evo would eat it up around a circuit. The best way I know how to describe the Evo is "relentless". It's like a pit bull for winding pavement. It has eyeball-flattening grip, and it pulls SO hard and early out of corners.

^ sti; not want...as long as there are evos around.well actually i have a new found appreciation for the 2008 hatch. and evo x's seem to be the suck.
7/23/2009 12:40:19 AM
Eh, I don't think EVOs are built like crap. As I said before, it's offensive, but I think build quality is not bad, it's the design that's lacking IMO, not execution. I... don't really have a desire to own one at any price, though I'd love to hammer on one for a bit, hence entry at $13k would be appealing. I'm currently consumed by dreaming after a GT3. Past that, some real track whore of a car would be cool too. Still think EVOs are cool, I just don't personally have the hots for one.

so there is an 04 WRB STI in VA that the owner is desperate to sell due to medical bills piling up. miles are high (129,000) but he's only asking 12,500 for it. worth pursuing?http://s627.photobucket.com/albums/tt358/brittle27/i had an 02 WRX about 3 years ago that I enjoyed. the only thing i'm worried about is buying the STI and wishing i had gotten the evo.[Edited on July 23, 2009 at 2:27 PM.
