Maybe they were hammering out contracts.Page: [Edited on June 29, 2009 at 5:06 PM. Reason : WOOOOOOOO]

6/30/2009 12:24:28 PM
i'll be shocked if there is a team out there willing to pay cole (significantly) more than whatever Rutherford offered. the dude is just not a top line forward anymore.and yeah, larose is the priority now.[Edited on June 30, 2009 at 12:46 PM. Reason : :]
6/30/2009 12:45:48 PM
woohoo!!
6/30/2009 1:04:37 PM
There is ALWAYS a team out there willing to pay. I wouldn't be surprised if Cole and LaRose are both gone, but I am still hoping that JR has something up his sleeve for LaRose before the day is over. Either way, once they make it to tomorrow, they are gone.
6/30/2009 1:06:58 PM
No real surprise on Cole at this point. I like the guy but I won't miss him if he signs with another team for some stupid crazy amount.Plz to sign Larose though.
6/30/2009 1:15:07 PM
6/30/2009 1:20:31 PM
anyone up for some picketing outside of JR's office? LaRaise for LaRose!
6/30/2009 1:36:28 PM
I am prepared to burn my LaRose t-shirt if he signs with another Southeastern Division team.
6/30/2009 1:37:41 PM
seriously, if LaRose isn't resigned I don't know what I'll do with myself
6/30/2009 1:39:59 PM
we need the hobbit back.
6/30/2009 1:48:14 PM
I want LaRose to come back, but I am fully prepared to move on at this point. It's not looking that good unless he wants to show some loyalty and play at a discount to stay around here. He has ties to Karmanos if I'm not mistaken, and we picked him up undrafted. It's possible, the cost of living around here has to be leaps and bounds cheaper than most places in the NHL.The only thing that will really piss me off is if he ends up in Florida, Tampa Bay, Atlanta, or Washington. If he signs with any of those teams, I will be reminding him the exact location he can kiss my ass during his 3 visits to the RBC Center and any road trips I take to those venues.
6/30/2009 1:53:32 PM
I'd like to know exactly how much or how "little" Cole was offered. It's pretty bad when the announcers on VS say things like "Cole needs the help of a sherpa to find the back of the net" during the playoffs, but it was 100% trueIf he isn't willing to deal a little bit after a fizzle like that he needs to take a hike
6/30/2009 2:49:21 PM
Cole and LaRose are gonehttp://www.wralsportsfan.com/hurricanes/story/5476597/
6/30/2009 8:59:09 PM
i'm going to throw a prediction out there, based on nothing but it seems possible for a few reasonsZIGOMANIS TO CANES
6/30/2009 9:05:36 PM
Based on my own calculations, I would estimate that JR has between $2 and $3 million to spend tomorrow.
6/30/2009 9:34:12 PM
CANT WAITTILNOON
6/30/2009 11:07:21 PM
^^^^Damn.Good to see Jussi is going to be back though. I, too, wanted to see LaRose back.[Edited on June 30, 2009 at 11:16 PM. Reason : can't count]
6/30/2009 11:15:48 PM
If LaRose takes 2.5 or less tomorrow from anyone else, I'm gonna be PISSED.
7/1/2009 12:35:28 AM
i heard they offered la rose 1.2 per for 3 years...what crap is that......1.9 to jokk who got released midseason by the lightning....still less than eaves, wallin...he worth as much to the team and organization to be paid in the 2 million range...what crapShow some respect to chad, Ruth...guy has busted his balls put in his time and showed loyalty to the team never complaining...all he does is show up do his job........guy scored 70 goals a year in lower leagues...give him a chance to shine
7/1/2009 12:39:23 AM
^i bet he gets a better offer for the 2 range and then goes back to jr and says this is what i want around...instead of 1.2...
7/1/2009 12:41:30 AM
where'd you hear that from?
i love chad but it looks like JR is seeing how many 20 goal guys he can get that are bigger than 5'9 before he breaks the bank for him
7/1/2009 10:09:05 AM
Almost noon. Get ready for some excitement. Also, how did I not hear about Gleason going to the Olympic orientation camp?

if he hadn't left once already he would have arbitration rights. His agent is not very good at this hard ball thing
7/1/2009 12:21:22 PM
I love JR's quote of "I'd love to bring the whole team back with the exception of Dennis"
7/1/2009 12:21:48 PM
Burn.

no defenseman who scores 16 goals is gonna would've sign[ed] a $1 million deal, prior to the economic meltdown.Fixed that for you. A lot of guys will find themselves in that boat this year.
7/1/2009 2:46:44 PM
^^^ i'm afraid that with that good news we'll get some bad news within the next few hours
7/1/2009 2:48:02 PM
indications at the moment are Cole is testing the market but will be back and LaRose to anywhere but here is all but a done deal
7/1/2009 2:50:33 PM

7/1/2009 2:51:34 PM
Mike Knuble just signed for Washington for 2 years at $2.8 million per. He is the guy I wanted, and that is an excellent deal. This sucks.
7/1/2009 2:53:04 PM
we're due for 3 playoffless years anyway, this doesn't come as a shock to me that we aren't going to make any effort on the FA front to improve our team.
7/1/2009 2:54:33 PM
plz 2 become opposite day

well, that is just laughable about cole.khabibulin to the oilers btw, i guess that'll help the hawks possibly retain some offensive players in comng years.[Edited on July 1, 2009 at 4:11 PM. Reason : -]

^ NOT happy about Cole's deal... but could that be enough to go back to Larose and offer him more? He already said (JR) that he wanted both to come back but didn't have the money.whats up with Ruu?
