been goofing around shark fishing since it has too windy to go to the reefs. 7 for 7 this weekend and 5 for 5 last weekend. this one if from last weekend.

that shark was a lil over 60" and only weighed about 45lbs. i was able to lift it by the top fin and tail with no strain. we have some big bait for tomorrow and 200lb test steel. i hope to finally land one of the big ones that we have been breaking off. too windy to run off shore so the next best thing is catching some big sharks.

Very rough out by Cape Lookout but we still managed to go out yesterday. Caught 12 dolphin, all gaffers, and lost a few more. Went out by the 90ft drop. Hell of a ride, def sore today. Dinner was good though :-)

Saturday: Pretty rough ride out. Set out lines around the 560-565 in 78 degree water. While getting the last flat line out, the drag starts peeling on it and I see the fish on the lure. I pop the reel in gear and snap, fish breaks off a brand new chugger. Just to piss me off the fish swims right next to the boat and jumps about 5 times with the lure hanging out of its mouth. For the next two hours we couldn't get the spread out with out a gaffer or king. Also caught the biggest Bonita I have ever seen. Ended the day fishing for tiles.

Sunday: Really really rough. I was ready to go back! Ended up going way overboard and finding 79-80 water. Had some fish break off but we managed some bigger gaffers today; all bulls. Lost a 40lber at the boat

Went, but too rough for me to risk a run out, considering it was my first of the year. I like to do a test run first....closer, just to make sure.

Wound up just trolling around for Spanish off Wrightsville beach a while....that got boring so we went out to a nearshore wreck to shark fish. Found all the small ones we wanted, and a few sea bass.

Not close to what I wanted, but the boat ran ok and I got to be out on the water.
