I just bought the CD for 9.99 at Best Buy because it is right across from work. I had thought about the deluxe edition but they were sold out because they apparently released it yesterday and had only one copy. I don't know if the dvd was worth an extra $10 anyway. If it happened to be the T-shirt combo I would definitely get it.

Anyone else going to the release show in Asheville saturday? Should be awesome seeing Glass Casket play again, and Giant/BraveYoung is always entertaining. And of course seeing BTBAM is always fun.

PS Glass Casket better play a ton of stuff off of "We Are Gathered Here Today...". "Desperate Man's Diary" was ok, but WAGHT is the Glass Casket that I remember. In Between The Sheets and Pencil Lead Syringe ftw.

^^well just like the other guys, Sid is playing this show, and is still in GC but GC is not anything near a full time band and won't be unless BTBAM ever takes some unfortunate hiatus. So he was never not in GC, they just weren't playing shows, and I don't know when they'll play their next show (unless they do something around here in Nov/Dec before BTBAM is back on the road supporting TGM).

I actually just talked to Sid last week since he is supposed to be doing guest vocals on a track (and we've been waiting on that for awhile to get our album mastered ha), and from what it sounded like is that he is still trying to find new members to fill the gaps to keep Yearling going. For what he was going for on their newest album I think he did a great job. A little too poppy for my tastes, but I can see kids digging it.

yea...if i was unemployed and still living in raleigh i'd probably try and rock the pop with them, but alas i am not.

and i heard some of their new stuff...and, well..

how many cartel bands do we need!!?!?!?! i liked the more indie sounding/ringing guitar slow jams way more.

i'm curious to see what their set will be like this weekend. TGM straight through +1-2 encore songs like the Colors release shows? I'd honestly love to see a mix across all albums, and sometimes in NC shows you get the token s/t song as well, but even that is getting rare.

I wouldnt mind seeing TGM straight through, but i'll be slightly annoyed if they only do a 1 song encore and it is Selkies...I am honestly sick of hearing that song live.

If I picked the setlist saturday, taking into account it is the TGM release show it would prob look like this:

All Bodies (6)
Obfuscation (9)
Disease, Injury, Madness (11)
Shevanel (7.5ish live)
Ad a Dglgmut (7.5)
White Walls (14)
Fossil Genera (12)
Swim to the Moon (18)

Encore: Mordecai

Thats 1hr 30 mins + encore.

My guess is that it will be TGM + selkies and/or mordecai and/or 1 song from colors as an encore.

Overall I'd love to hear at least 1 of: shevanel, aspirations, or ad a dglgmut mixed in with whatever else they play.

^ That would be a sweet set. I would like to see them play the TGM all the way through too though. Mastodon did it for Crack the Skye and had a video to go along with it that was pretty sweet.

I actually just got to hang out with tommy and paul for a little while last night....we are here in the basement studios finishing up with Jamie and they came by to pick up an amp for the show saturday. Super cool guys...signed the new cd for me and were just chilling for a while, making sure the amp was up to snuff. Felt pretty damn cool for a hot second...but only one.

^^ A band called Telic we are from Asheville, NC. Jamie is real cool in just a laid back country boy kinda way, makes recording very easy going and fun. We had a few dates early in September, finished up a few songs, and then just recorded this week and finished it up pretty much. It was just so weird to have Tommy and Paul just walk in and dick around with that amp...they are some of my favorite musicians at the moment. Can't really think of anybody I would rather meet right now in the music industry, aside from Maynard but that is just for novelty reasons, I have a feeling he would be a dick head, but maybe not. I would be stoked if you looked it up http://myspace.com/telicnc. Tell me what you think, its not as technical as your band but that is not really the style we are going for I guess, but I definitely liked your shit to when I heard it. Cheers.

^^ for sure man. ill hit you up with my contact information via PM or something before I head out. We'd love to play up that way again..its been years. We used to play up that way some back 3-4 years ago when bands like secret lives were still playing locally. Been awhile tho.

Yeah...I still see Brien every once in a while...he performs with an electronic band or something like that. The metal scene here is alright, used to be a little better with swift, estedy, ect. But we still draw a good amount of kids usually...especially lately. We can pretty much get a show at any venue around now...stellas, boiler room, its always a good time.

Good energy overall. was pissed that paul's guitar was out of commission during like 70% of obfuscation, meaning no solo at the end they really nailed everything tho.

brave young was very good and glass casket killed it.

for sure.

also, after the show Blake said that they had originally been working on a Codeseven reunion on the bill instead of torch runner. He said Codeseven was seriously considering it and if they did it they were going to be playing "Division of Labor" straight through + some others which would have been RIDICULOUS. Yes The Rescue and Dancing Echoes were both awesome too but Division of Labor is so underrated.

Too bad that didn't work out
