i talked to my palm reader today and she predicts old tire bowl
11/30/2008 3:45:39 PM
ESPN's Mark Schlabach and Bruce Feldman seem rather confident about the Motor City Bowl...http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/bowlprojection?season=2008&week=14Dec. 26, Christmas in Detroit?
11/30/2008 4:48:33 PM
11/30/2008 4:51:58 PM
detroit would suck, but a chance to play Ball State would be awesome
11/30/2008 4:54:14 PM
How does Mark Schlabach not even have UNC in any bowl. Thats just retarded.
11/30/2008 4:54:31 PM
Google search yielded results of either the EagleBank Bowl or the MotorCity Bowl. Thats all that can be done until the announcement of bowls. /until saturday

of the 4-4 teams, we have the best record against the teams at 4-1... if they went by that rule we would be 5th in the standings, and be lookin at champs sports bowl wish they would take that into consideration although they wont
11/30/2008 5:07:42 PM
ooooooOOOOOOooOOoo Tough guys ITT
11/30/2008 5:09:49 PM
the motor city bowl is supposed to be big10/mac, so why are we being projected for it?
11/30/2008 5:43:33 PM
not enough big11 teams eligible?
11/30/2008 5:45:56 PM
Ball State would be fun (assuming they win the MAC)...but they will be 13-0 with a HUGE chip on their shoulder for not being in the BCS. I cant say Id go to Detroit though.
11/30/2008 6:00:11 PM
NC State v Ball State would be very interestingThey will either be exposed for playing scrub teams all year, or will make us one of their scrubs too.Eastern Detroit? Dec 26th? hmmm... F-that Someone correct me if i am wrong, but I assume stats from Bowls count toward the season's stats. In which case, Russell Wilson sitting at 226 consecutive passes w/o INT is close to the single season NCAA record of 230 (and building on getting closer to the 325 overall record)PS. Jesus is a white Russell Wilson (ok, i'll pack my bags for hell now, but i had to say it)[Edited on November 30, 2008 at 6:11 PM. Reason : ]

back home to michigan for christmas would be awesome!
11/30/2008 6:11:38 PM
I'd go to Detroit for a couple days.
11/30/2008 6:52:09 PM
I'd go if it was the Texas Bowl considering my proximity, but I will take just about any bowl. Good end to the regular season boys
11/30/2008 6:55:13 PM
just an FYI, CBS sports has us ranked #50 in the CBS poll#49 is Wake Forest... ..they should flip/flop our ranks b/c we beat them

I vote for DC bowl game as I will be in DC that weekend anyways.. I know.. Im selfish.
11/30/2008 7:48:41 PM
A bid to Detroit would at least give Detroit football fans a decent game to watch this season rather than the Lowly Lions...
11/30/2008 8:04:27 PM
I'd be down for DC. The proximity and nightlife is appealing enough. Typically, not that cool of a place to go bowling but given the circumstances I'd probably be apt to book the trip just to support the way they capped the year.
11/30/2008 8:09:49 PM
Detroit would be warmer than DC, for the game itself anyhow
11/30/2008 8:10:16 PM
i thought it was down to DC, Idaho, or Charlotte?
11/30/2008 8:17:28 PM
nope, there are a TON of optionswe could even land an at large and go somewhere like Hawaii if i have it all laid out straight
11/30/2008 8:22:38 PM
Through a fairly reliable source, who is up there in NC States contact list for all the bowl information I was told today...that 5 bowls have expressed interest in us via athletics and the ACC committee that does the ACC selection and helps with finding At-Large bids...This is what he was told by Athletics....Charlotte, DC, Detroit, Shreveport, and Boisebut, all the same i guess no one really knows for sure...He also said a lot depends on the Arizona/Arizona State game and BC/VT game
11/30/2008 8:39:49 PM
DC or Charlotte so I can go plz</selfish>
11/30/2008 8:47:46 PM
I know we're going for Arizona, but who helps us the most to get an ACC bowl btw BC/Va Tech?
11/30/2008 8:47:54 PM
i would guess VT winning would help more because BC would fall further with a loss? But I'm not really sure how that helps us.
11/30/2008 8:54:46 PM
from wral
11/30/2008 8:55:08 PM
From what he said:Apparently if BC wins, then they obviously get Orange bowl, VT to Chick-fila, GT to Gator and so on...the acc would just fall in to place as far as bowls and rank go...however, if VT wins, VT would get Orange bowl, and Chick-fila and Gator would both more than likely pass on BC because they travel terribly...this means that ACC teams would move up in rank as far as the bowl pickings go, giving us a better chance...The biggest question would be how far BC drops due to their terrible fan base...Then he went on about a bunch of ACC specifics about how they look at eligibility then conference record when it goes to placing for bowls...giving us an edge since we beat UNC and WFU we move to 8 rather that 10...but he went in a lot of detail that i failed to understand cause the whole system is dumb to me...
11/30/2008 8:57:07 PM
^I think the ACC runner-up can't fall lower than the Music City Bowl, so that's at least where BC would end up with a loss.
11/30/2008 9:23:19 PM
I read that we will have a really good shot at DC because UMD will not accept that bowl due to exams. Thus that takes away the most obvious pick for that bowl leaving us.
11/30/2008 9:32:59 PM
^^ I heard that too...good for us...don't really care at this point...I'll go anywhere, my trip is payed for regardless of our selection...ah, the benefits of being in band...[Edited on November 30, 2008 at 9:38 PM. Reason : can't spell]

^I hear that, Daniel! Christmas vacation on athletics' dime! Just get us in someplace. That's all I ask.
11/30/2008 9:50:19 PM
Please Charlotte or DC and seats next to the band.
11/30/2008 9:54:42 PM

id prob go if it was shreveport as well.
12/1/2008 8:00:56 AM
I always have a place to stay in DC...plus I wouldn't mind seeing RFK again.btw...I heard today that as long as the ACC solidifies 10 bowls (not bowl teams), then those bowls can pick and choose who they want. Meaning, if the ACC claims one of the at-large bowls then that doesn't mean is has to be NC State because we have the worse record.
