This is repeated in another thread, and I'll lay off after this, but what makes you so sure that recruits don't read this? I know if I was a recruit, I'd at least scan several forums for each of the schools i was highly intereted in. Why wouldn't you? I mean, i know some may not, but I'm sure there's got to be at least a few that do.Sorry for the repeat and the chit-chat, but since this will be a dead thread soon anyways.

sorry man, i think that's a weak argument. "we got jj and some other 4-stars, so obviously no recruits are reading" and "they play basketball so they don't have time to surf the internet". Again, I'm not saying they all do, or even a lot them. But you have no way of knowing that none of them do. Odds are, some are. And my whole point is positive criticism is cool, and if a player deserves to be called out for something awwful, then so be it, but the negative criticism after the first exhibition game is just silly. That's all.And treetwista (below), I could see some recruit saying, "I had thought about State, but I heard they have a pretty fickle fan base. After reading some forums, there's no doubt that they have fickle fan base. People bashing the starters after the first exhibition game. That's just harsh."[Edited on November 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM. maybe Bullet is right...maybe John Wall signs to come here and they're interviewing him and they're like "so what was the deciding factor in your committing to NC State?" and Wall is like "well the school is close to where I live and my mother is close by as well...her health could be better so i wanted to stay close to home...but the main reason was that News 14 stunt they pulled on TWW...man that shit had me LOL'ing"

^^Hah I call bullshit on 'fickle fan base,' a few anonymous posters on an internet message board is hardly a fanbase. Plus most of the criticisms are legitimate and while certain things looked good, against a D-II school there were some things that should not have been happening as well. It's called being realistic, we've had far too many decades of rough times to be all sunshines and candy bars about our teams and having criticisms does not make us bad fans.Just look at the years and years of Carter-Finley being sold out, even with losing seasons, or the enthusiasm and support our team gets year in and year out when basketball rolls around even though we haven't had the success of a duke or carolina in three or four decades. Did you go to the first open practice where several recruits were in attendance this year? Because I did, and it was packed with supportive students and fans who cheered for our team and even started chants on multiple occasions cheering the recruits by name.So you want to talk about weak arguments, maybe the buck should stop with you.[Edited on November 7, 2008 at 2:12 PM. I hear you WolfAce. As I repeated serveral times, this is just hypothetical, and I'm just addressing the straight-up uncalled for negative posts. I'm not addressing "Our defense was terrible" or "what's wrong with our rebounding skills". That's all legit criticism. Anyways, I'll let this go, but I'm not too disapointed with this game. It could have been better though.

It's cool, I enjoyed the game, and liked a lot of what I saw, but there will always be idiots on the internet and especially tww. It's just a good thing you weren't here for the WRAL-'get a rope'-gate scandal, when one person's comment got blown out of proportion it had a small chance of hurting recruiting, but even then it wasn't representative of our school or fanbase at all, and blew over fairly quickly, so I wouldn't worry too much over this small stuff.[Edited on November 7, 2008 at 2:23 PM. ^^ there was a few recruits that I know that said they read Pack Pride in the months before they committed or transfered.so Packpride gets looked at...TWW, they dont pay much attention to it once they are here they have no time for stuff like that

^recruits read the "official" boards, scout & rivals, quite a bit while they are being recruited by different schools. more than you would think. also, btw, the parents of the recruits read them a TON.

Smith and Greenway are both from in-state, and Greenway is the token hometown boy. Looks like he did pretty well at Cardinal Gibbons. They're both on the roster at GoPack. What's the story that other guy (Obi-Gwach)?And is there an update on Johnny's ankle?[Edited on November 11, 2008 at 1:15 PM. Reason : (]

I know Kendall Smith had offers from low D-I schools (VMI and UNC-A), but got an academic scholarship (he's a Park scholar) here and decided to walk-on.[Edited on November 11, 2008 at 1:33 PM. Reason : ]

i dunno boozie. I think its a lil easier for sharp-shooter type walk ons than it is for inside type walkons

Kendall Smith isn't tiny either.. dude it 6'8". I like the potential depth this team may have.
11/11/2008 2:38:14 PM
^he is not 6'8". Hes in one of my classes and i wouldnt put him much taller than 6'5, i could be wrong though
