Welcome Garrett Anderson. From the comments section of DOB's blog:David O'BrienFebruary 22nd, 20093:51 pmIt’s a done deal, Anderson’s going to be here as early as tomorrow. He’s en route today, I’m told. Whether that means he’ll be introduced tomorrow, not certain. But likely.Important thing is: He’s signed. And this isn’t a friend telling us.[Edited on February 22, 2009 at 4:12 PM. Reason : .]

if he can stay healthy i like anderson, although i'm still not very hopeful for a contending season
2/22/2009 4:19:44 PM
David O'BrienFebruary 22nd, 20094:18 pmIt’s one year, $2.5 mill. Hey, at utility-infielder prices, not a bad pickup, eh? That’s half what Abreu got.http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/braves/stories/2009/02/22/braves_garret_anderson.html[Edited on February 22, 2009 at 4:28 PM. Reason : link]

Garret Anderson is probably a lot better than people give him credit for. He just played in LA when they weren't all that great for a long time, and now he's old. Still putting up pretty good numbers though, and I'd gladly take his last years numbers this year, .293, 15, 84

they had a great game today. i though it was all over in the 4th when it was 7-2. awseom comeback
2/26/2009 3:55:01 PM
best spring training record in the NL, hopefully that means something at all. young OFs are hitting well, hopefully that won't be a problem area again.
3/23/2009 10:24:08 AM
im hoping for 55 wins this year.
3/23/2009 1:38:20 PM
this new rotation has the potential to be absolutely dominant... and if the braves can actual play worth a shit, hopefully hudson will be back for the playoff race in august. I still don't understand why Diaz can't figure out how to be an everyday player.. and I'm really hoping G. Anderson isn't a total bust and that Francoeur doesn't suck a big one this year like he did last year. Personally, I think Schaeffer should get the start in center but it looks like it's going to be J. Anderson. Trading some of our overflow in the bullpin (Buddy, Acosta) or one of these outfield overflows (Blanco, Anderson) could let us beef up the bullpin because that's exactly what the Met's have done. As a Braves fan I always have high expectations.. I just hope this season isn't a total bust like last season.
3/24/2009 3:29:00 AM
One week until Opening Day NightLooks like Schafer has won the job in center
3/29/2009 1:47:29 PM
what kind of HR and SB numbers did he have in the minors? Does he have the potential to be a decent 3rd OF in fantasy?
3/29/2009 2:05:51 PM
GO BRAVES
3/29/2009 2:10:20 PM
^^ 15 HR in 136 games, 10 in 84 last year, so no, not this year. 23 and 12 SBs last two years.http://minors.baseball-reference.com/players.cgi?pid=13157[Edited on March 29, 2009 at 3:39 PM. Reason : ~]

and remember the 10 hr/12 sb were in limited time due to his suspension last year.

Looks like Schafer has won the CF job.Braves send CF Josh Anderson to the Tigers for minor league pitcher Rudy Darrow.http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/03/tigers-acquire-josh-anderson.htmlInfo on Darrow:http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/D/Rudy-Darrow.shtml

^thats actually a year earlier than I thought... although even if hes not 100 percent ready, hes still better than any other optionanderson was out of options, so i assume that was why he was traded... he was starting to get up there in years anyways... Schafer is the future, and that apparently begins this yearI'm actually cautiously optimistic this year. I think we can at least be in the hunt.Ready for Sunday![Edited on March 30, 2009 at 11:35 PM. I dunno if that pitcher will be any good, but losing Anderson is ok. I don't think he'll ever be a starter, but he's a good backup for most teams. Plus the Braves still have Blanco, Brandon Jones, and Jason Heyward (in a few years, he's only 19).Just looking at the Braves site, Chipper's about to get an extension.
3/30/2009 11:56:53 PM
did anybody watch the special on MLB ch. about the 3 ace's
3/31/2009 9:28:02 AM
Chipper has agreed to a 3-year extension.According to Bowman, its 3 years $40 million, with an option for 2013.http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090331&content_id=4093914&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb&partnerId=rss_mlb[Edited on March 31, 2009 at 10:02 AM. Reason : .]

Josh Anderson has been traded to the Tigers for a 24 year old pitching prospect.

Oh you didn't know?
3/31/2009 1:27:18 PM
YO ASS BETTA CALL SOMEBODY I'm not afraid of you guys this year, but I probably will be in 2011 or soonerGot some nice kids down on the farm
3/31/2009 2:13:31 PM
I'm unrealistically optimistic about this year. Bullpen is strong, no stud starters but a lot of good arms, solid hitting, good backups all around, dunno about defense.. I'd guess 3rd in the NLE, but nothing would surprise me.
3/31/2009 7:05:37 PM
speaking of future, here's a really good article on hanson:http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/story/11573709i wish he was in our rotation now.
3/31/2009 9:43:08 PM
facebook just tried to get me with April Foolsmy notifications thing said "braves fans, did you know the braves just traded derek lowe to the mets?"
4/1/2009 1:53:27 PM

4/1/2009 8:41:50 PM
I can not wait for Sunday, Drink some beers and watch the braves. Nothing could be better than that
4/1/2009 8:50:40 PM
Andruw made the Rangers roster as the fifth outfielder. I guess he's lost some weight, I thought they were going to have to clear two spots for him.
4/1/2009 10:16:48 PM
lul
4/1/2009 10:17:39 PM
going to have a shit load of peeps at opening day... drunk as shit in the 755 club
4/1/2009 11:52:36 PM
^lucky bastard
4/2/2009 12:03:40 AM
might even be a "spotting" there
4/2/2009 12:04:44 AM
too bad you're not sitting closer to the fieldyou'd be a perfect candidate to pull a William Ligue Jr.
4/2/2009 12:10:42 AM
no idea who that is, but I gave up seats 4 rows behind the dugout for 755 seats... hate sitting anywhere else now after the first time I sat there
4/2/2009 12:12:24 AM
Yeah it is nice eating dinner there and drinking some beers before the game, but i usually leave after the third inning and go down to my uncles seats which are third row right behind the third base line dugout.
4/2/2009 12:25:08 AM
I just love having your own space, not having to get up to let fuckers through, etc.
