In the presidential race I could possibly see your vote counting less in the grand scheme of things but with the state split almost down the middle. Every vote counts. Also your vote counts even more in the local elections that are on the ballot.

I watch fox quite a bit and I will admit that they are defiantly republican leaning, but I flip around a lot and those of you who are saying cnn and nbc aren't card carrying members of the left wing are sorely wrong.[Edited on November 4, 2008 at 5:31 PM. Reason : sp]

11/5/2008 1:04:40 PM

Coulter has been strangely silent.I guess she milked the far-right on book revenues and decided it was time for her to shut up.

in related news, one of our own classmates got onto bill o'reilly last night with an email.... at the end, he said GO WOLFPACK! lol.... that earns points bc most would probably said, go Tarheels (dumb media)... anyways, there is useless knowledge for the day
11/6/2008 8:34:32 AM
O'Reilly also had a rather scathing and embarrassing report on Sarah Palin and her 'riffs' with McCain. I guess he is still in the tank for the 'Pubs huh?
11/6/2008 8:39:36 AM
Is this what you're talking about?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1KvgwTrpQEConsidering he tries to defend her; yes, I'd say he's still in the tank even though others around him might be off the Kool Aid.
11/6/2008 9:24:39 AM
I just saw that on digg.no spin zone my ass.you can't spin that shit. This just makes me more glad that Obama won, but i do feel a little sorry for McCain. But only a little. He should never have picked that dead behind the eyes bitch.
11/6/2008 9:56:48 AM
11/6/2008 10:02:38 AM
Just watched it. You can't sit there and listen to the news that she doesn't know about NAFTA and Africa the continent and claim as Bill O did "she's not a dumb woman"?Really Bill? Then, he says "she couldn't be bogged down with preparing for the Couric interview"Bogged? So, she didn't see the importance of basic prep work which politicians have been doing since the days of radio? I think it's clear this pageant queen has been living in a bubble up there in the extreme north west where people vote on looks and plain speaking. What a terrible terrible pick by McCain.
11/6/2008 10:03:50 AM
^ as someone who agrees with you that she was a terrible pick, I wouldn't say she is dumb per se. She is just completely average. She has no depth of knowledge on domestic or world issues and as long as you aren't on the fringe religious right, you saw that. Of course, O'Reilly's bread and butter is "the folks" so of course he isn't going to call her dumb or disparage the fact that she is just average.
11/6/2008 10:10:23 AM
My world geography knowledge is down a ton since I took it more than 12 years ago, but not knowing that Africa is a continent is simply not acceptable from anyone holding a high school degree. Sure, you don't have to have "book smarts" to do things in this world...man, I can't even finish this post, not worth it.
11/6/2008 10:14:22 AM
I know it sounds bad, but I would imagine it was simply a one time deal where she mispoke and it became an ongoing inside joke among the campaign staffers who clearly hated her.I refuse to believe that someone who was that close to the White House didn't actually know that Africa was a continent and not a country.
11/6/2008 10:17:57 AM
Umm, misspeaking would be getting the shias and sunnis confused, or something similar. You.just.don't.misspeak.about.Africa.being.a.continent.You wanna see someone that can probably relate to Palin about world geography...here ya gohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3iNxZ8Dww
11/6/2008 10:25:06 AM
must be a pageant whore thing.
11/6/2008 12:22:56 PM
such as the iraq
11/6/2008 12:24:37 PM
hmm, this belongs in here, rather than the McCain/Palin thread:Bill O'Reilly is such a dick..... in defense of Palin not knowing who was in NAFTA or about Africa, his response is "you can be tutored on this stuff". He's obviously completely missing the point that a woman who is 5 weeks away from being Vice President shouldn't have to be tutored on middle-school civics! There are plenty of candidates out there who already have all this knowledge, and could have instead come in and hit the ground running beside McCain and brought up to speed on his own policies, not on world geography
