In the presidential race I could possibly see your vote counting less in the grand scheme of things but with the state split almost down the middle. Every vote counts.

Also your vote counts even more in the local elections that are on the ballot.

So are you saying that fox is the only media outlet that present Bush or McCains plans fairly?

(I know you didnt mean it that way. You were trying to be witty and use sarcasm like the blogs you read....it's just that I couldnt help but point out the flaw in your arguement)

Is the media overwhelmingly left? Absolutely. (of course you let this slide by...you're not concerned at all). The real story should be, "why are most media outlets more liberal than the average American. Fox is viewed as "right wing" because they are the only ones that usually present a remotely conservative argument.

thats the reason Fox is by far number 1 in viewership. They have tapped into the an audience that is largely ignored by other media outlets.

which audience is that? the audience that chooses to remain willfully ignorant because facts might upset their preconceived notions about reality?

I watch fox quite a bit and I will admit that they are defiantly republican leaning, but I flip around a lot and those of you who are saying cnn and nbc aren't card carrying members of the left wing are sorely wrong.

Coulter has been strangely silent.

I guess she milked the far-right on book revenues and decided it was time for her to shut up.

O'Reilly also had a rather scathing and embarrassing report on Sarah Palin and her 'riffs' with McCain. I guess he is still in the tank for the 'Pubs huh?

Considering he tries to defend her; yes, I'd say he's still in the tank even though others around him might be off the Kool Aid.

you can't spin that shit. This just makes me more glad that Obama won, but i do feel a little sorry for McCain. But only a little. He should never have picked that dead behind the eyes bitch.

Just watched it. You can't sit there and listen to the news that she doesn't know about NAFTA and Africa the continent and claim as Bill O did "she's not a dumb woman"?

Really Bill?

Then, he says "she couldn't be bogged down with preparing for the Couric interview"

Bogged? So, she didn't see the importance of basic prep work which politicians have been doing since the days of radio? I think it's clear this pageant queen has been living in a bubble up there in the extreme north west where people vote on looks and plain speaking. What a terrible terrible pick by McCain.

^ as someone who agrees with you that she was a terrible pick, I wouldn't say she is dumb per se. She is just completely average. She has no depth of knowledge on domestic or world issues and as long as you aren't on the fringe religious right, you saw that.

Of course, O'Reilly's bread and butter is "the folks" so of course he isn't going to call her dumb or disparage the fact that she is just average.

My world geography knowledge is down a ton since I took it more than 12 years ago, but not knowing that Africa is a continent is simply not acceptable from anyone holding a high school degree. Sure, you don't have to have "book smarts" to do things in this world...man, I can't even finish this post, not worth it.

I know it sounds bad, but I would imagine it was simply a one time deal where she mispoke and it became an ongoing inside joke among the campaign staffers who clearly hated her.

I refuse to believe that someone who was that close to the White House didn't actually know that Africa was a continent and not a country.

Umm, misspeaking would be getting the shias and sunnis confused, or something similar. You.just.don't.misspeak.about.Africa.being.a.continent.

You wanna see someone that can probably relate to Palin about world geography...here ya go

hmm, this belongs in here, rather than the McCain/Palin thread:

Bill O'Reilly is such a dick.....
in defense of Palin not knowing who was in NAFTA or about Africa, his response is "you can be tutored on this stuff". He's obviously completely missing the point that a woman who is 5 weeks away from being Vice President shouldn't have to be tutored on middle-school civics! There are plenty of candidates out there who already have all this knowledge, and could have instead come in and hit the ground running beside McCain and brought up to speed on his own policies, not on world geography

He didn't understand what Joe was saying, because Joe wasn't making any sense.

The guy is arguing "principles" when he's famous because he lied and doesn't pay his taxes.

I always get the impression that Fox News knows when they are propping up idiots, and Palin was one of those cases. Look no further than Karl Rove's comments on her before her nomination.

I don't think they ever liked her, but they have to be graceful about letting people know this, because they still need to support McCain. I don't think it'll be long before O'Reilly is bashing Palin, he just has to make it seem it's a gradual realization.

i dont like joe the plumber but he made perfect sense in the interview, sanchez didnt get it and kept asking the same question over and over and he delved into his private life a bit too rudely

anyways im not sure if joe has a good point or not, thats a tough question to answer

because it wouldn't make as much money. there was an economist story on the subject matter the other day. basically each news outlet practices the amount of bias that is within the margin of error for how its viewers/subscribers vote.
