I'm not convinced Robinho is strong enough to play in the Premiership.
8/28/2008 1:33:03 PM
he will make up for it with speed
8/28/2008 1:34:40 PM
im not convinced chelsea have enough midfielders now
8/28/2008 1:36:24 PM
robinho is sick no doubt about that, but we will have to see how he can do getting pushed around. He was good in the spanish league, but he never got touched there. For mine and man utd's sake, i hope he doesn't do well. Liverpool should start Lucas, i think hes got a lot of potential, he just never gets to play. Liverpool never needed Gareth Barry, they have a ton of CMs already. If he was playing in the back that would be one thing, but another defensive mid, on top of masch, lucas, and plessis, was not the answer to their problems.

9/1/2008 6:17:56 PM
I still can't believe Chelsea didn't do it. If they wanted him so bad why not pull the trigger.
9/1/2008 7:32:14 PM
Looks like they got beat to the punch by a bunch of spend-happy Arabs.Berbatov to United for 30.75 Million GBP
9/1/2008 7:48:42 PM
the start of the big five, perhaps? and is this the first time Chelsea's been outbid since Roman's been there?I hate him so much but you have to admire Wenger's refusal to spend a shit ton of cash in the transfer market and still put out a team like he does. They were so fun to watch the other day against Newcastle, and yes, I know it was Newcastle and yes I know they lost to Fulham earlier this year... but still, dude can coach and find young talent from hellor I guess when they don't win the PL this year, you can laugh at his refusal to spend

They're prepared to offer $240 million for Ronaldo... I hope they realize they'll never make that much money back.

^^^^^ that is awesometoo bad they're absolute shit, or I would consider following them a bit more
9/3/2008 8:05:17 AM
most teams throw around money to fill holes in their team. some just throw it around to stop others from buying a player because they can. i'm thinking mainly of the obi mikel transfer.all in all the spending is just absurd. Would something like baseball and the luxury tax and work in the epl
9/3/2008 8:29:50 AM
Speculation says that Chelsea purchased Ivanovic just to keep Man U from picking him up since it was known he was good friends with Vidic. Seeing as how Ivanovic has never taken the field since the move other than for the reserves, it seems there may be merit to it.

David James isn't from New Zealand.

"The story of me being locked in the toilet by Tiago is true. It's a shame it got out, as this was something I told a friend in confidence. In any case, Alessandro Del Piero responded to the noise of me punching the door and offered to break it down."Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli on Tiago's reaction after the Serie A club tried to encourage him to sign for Everton or Monaco.
9/3/2008 9:11:29 PM
There's talk that Liverpool's probably next to be taken over since the DIC is back in the hunt HARD after City's takeover.

Essien's out for a couple of months... pretty significant blow to Chelseahttp://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_4121902,00.html
9/9/2008 1:11:01 PM
that hurts chelsea a lot. Hes out for the year and hes one of the most important players on their team, probably after john terry. I don't like chelsea but I like essien a lot, it sucks for him to go out this early
