I'm not worried about 2 poundsI'm worried about girls that reel me in then 3 months later hit me with a GOTCHA 15 pounds. That's a slippery slope to Obesity, and if I don't do anything about it, I'll end up burying the chick before I'd even get a chance to try to HOIST her over the threshhold

yeah I'm 5 foot 9 and if a girl is taller than me regular, than she's like 6 inches taller than me when she wears heelsthats why you need a 3-4 inch height advantage...I'm not gonna be looking like a midget next to some WNBA castoff

seems like none of the females want to respond to my issue with the integrity of a girls that trick guys into thinking they are both physically and mentally fit, when it turns out they aren't - as gaining a quick 20 pounds a few months after you begin dating, and/or eating ice-cream sandwhiches in the middle of the night would prove.
4/11/2008 2:15:09 PM
^ Because nobody's "tricking" you, you're making up a situation that's irrelevant. Dump her if you want, but everyone will likely think you're a jerk. It's up to you, we don't care.Gaining weight isn't an issue of integrity at all. Maintaining your weight can be hard work: it's easy to gain weight. I doubt any girl would do that to spite you on purpose.[Edited on April 11, 2008 at 2:18 PM. Reason : .]

Yeah the late night klondike is a little extremeIts one thing if you order a steak instead of the fish or chicken...I can tolerate that, though I frown upon itbut eating pure fat and carbohydrates at a time when you have no intention of burning it off is something that can't become a regular occurrenceIf you must indulge yourself, there's plenty of yogurt and sorbet in the world

4/11/2008 2:20:30 PM
Yeah, because I'm sure they all manically plan it out that way. When someone loves you, maybe you aren't watching your calories as much anymore, but you're making this into an issue where it's not. If you're gonna be that uptight about it, kick her out and move on. She'll be better off.[Edited on April 11, 2008 at 2:22 PM. Reason : .]

I am a woman that does not bag a guy just so I can get fat later. I think it has more to do with being completely comfortable and trusting of the person you are with, terp, and that is a big reason why people let themselves go. Men and women alike. I do agree that people need to think more healthy than they do. A lot of times people give up as well because their body changes beyond the ability to get back where it was. That does happen. A person should care enough to keep themselves healthy and I do agree that skinny /= healthy. I would hope that people don't think there is a conspiracy to get fat as soon as you're bagged. Encouragement goes a long way. If people were encouraging one another to stay healthy instead of the pressure of keeping a certain level of hotness I think we would all look pretty damn delicious. There is just too much pressure.
4/11/2008 2:38:25 PM
I actually usually see men get fatter as the relationship goes along more than women do.Girls are just more accepting. Because after the initial attractiveness, then tend to get more attached to personality traits than guys and also just get more attached in general. So when the guy puts on a few lbs, it doesn't affect them as much. I don't want to say men are more shallow or superficial, they just don't let go of the physical attractiveness as much as women do and are thus more affected by a little weigh gain in their significant other.
4/11/2008 2:42:44 PM
So, how does it work in same-sex relationships?
4/11/2008 2:43:56 PM
I wonder that as well.
4/11/2008 2:45:06 PM
^^^^ I totally agree I think she feels like you care about her so you're not going anywhere therefore she can act/eat how she really wants too.--This thread is awful though! P.S. make sure that you're eating healthy and not overweight if you dont want your girlfriend to be. I know a lot of girls that gained weight because they started eating what their boyfriends were eating, and it's a lot easier for guys than girls, guys can lose weight just by not drinking soft drinks (if they usually do). This doesnt work so well on women however.[Edited on April 11, 2008 at 2:47 PM. Reason : ^^^]

i'm just gonna go ahead and say iti love junkfoodmaybe i'm a lardass maybe i'm not. but i go to the gym several times a week so until i can't fit into my clothes anymore, i'm gonna keep doing what i'm doing.and i hope it grosses everyone out because the only reason people care is because they want to be eating what i'm eating. you can be healthy and not gain weight if you eat a little junkfood here and there. geeeeez. just because she ate icecream doesn't mean she's going to go from a 4 to a 16.oh and ps this thread totally doesn't focus on the long term at all. everyones bodys are going to change with age. you will probably get fat and go bald eventually. if not fat, you're definitely not going to maintain your looks forever. and if you're worried about the three months and 15 lbs, you should probably go ahead and think about the 50 years down the road when your penis has shriveled up inside your body and my boobs are scraping the ground. i think a girl gaining a few pounds is probably the least of our worries here.[Edited on April 11, 2008 at 2:51 PM. No, that's not what you're describing at all. I mean, if she just said to you "okay, I'm gonna gain 30 pounds," she'd be honest and you'd still hate it. You just don't like that she would put on weight. And that's fine, but don't turn this into some kind of "honesty" issue.

20lbs seems like a lot, but it really isn't. i can hardly tell a difference lookswise between my friends that are around the same height and that weigh 20 or 30lbs more than me. yes, we wear different sizes, but you honestly wouldn't know it. i guess maybe its a huge difference if you went from like 95lbs to 120lbs. but if you go from like 115 to 130 i mean....it really isn't that substantial i don't think. am i wrong? i don't even think that is a drastic change in clothes size. maybe you'd go from a 2 to a 4 or something or even a 6 OMG so fat. but really...20lbs...i don't get the hype.
4/11/2008 3:12:57 PM
you're right terpball it's all ahuge conspiracy, we girls are taught to starve ourselves for a couple of months eat celery and stuff, work out and then when we really got our man just pig out..^ yea it really isnt a huge change i'm pretty sure it's like a 2 to a 4[Edited on April 11, 2008 at 3:15 PM.
