just watched 'it might get loud'

i thought it might make me like the edge, since he's all 'SONIC ARCHITECT GUITAR EFFECTS MASTER.'

it did not.

while he was fiddling with delay on a beach, jack white was bleeding all over his guitar during 'blue veins'

he also managed to fuck up 'in my time of dying' during a jam, and make it sound like a u2 song.

i highly recommend the bridge

Quote :
"The Bridge is a 2006 documentary film by Eric Steel that tells the stories of a handful of individuals who committed suicide at the Golden Gate Bridge in 2004. The film was inspired by an article entitled "Jumpers," written by Tad Friend appearing in The New Yorker magazine in 2003."

I understand your argument, but when they use small white letters with a mixed color background that features white then it is almost impossible to see sometimes.

Streetwise

Quote :
"Streetwise is a 1984 documentary film by director Martin Bell, not to be confused with the war journalist Martin Bell. It followed in the wake of a July 1983 Life magazine article, "Streets of the Lost", by Cheryl McCall and the photographer Mary Ellen Mark, Bell's wife.
According to Mark's accompanying, 1988 book, also named Streetwise, McCall and Mark traveled to Seattle specifically to reveal that even in a town that billed itself as America's most livable city, there still existed rampant homelessness and desperation. After making connections with several homeless children during the writing of the article, Mark convinced Bell that the children were worthy of his making a documentary based on their lives. McCall and Mark were also instrumental in making the film. Streetwise follows the lives of several homeless teenagers, although it focuses most on 14-year-old Erin Blackwell, a child prostitute who goes by the name of Tiny. Much of the time, Tiny stays at the home of her alcoholic mother, Pat, who seems unfazed by her daughter's prostitution, calling it a "phase"."

Assault in the Ring

http://documentaryheaven.com/assault-in-the-ring/

You can only watch 72 minutes of it for free and then you have to waith 40 minutes before you can watch 72 more minutes for free. If you pay then you can watch documentaries without having to wait almost an hour to see the end.

I'm not checking 4 pages to see if it's been posted, but King of Kong was a good story. It's about 2 guys competing to get the world's best score in the arcade version of Donkey Kong

Netflix streaming is awesome as hell, it's worth it just for the documentaries

My wife and I have watched King of Kong, This Film is Not Yet Rated, and Capturing the Friedmans in the last few days. All of them were pretty good but I liked King of Kong the best of the three

I think I'm going to start working through the Errol Morris catalog now

Watched a good one the other night, The Dungeon Masters. If you like King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, you should see it (although it's not as good as King of Kong).

"Seven Wonders of the Industrial World"

I'm still watching this documentary miniseries, but so far it is fantastic! What I love most about it is each documentary is reenacted by actors who talk to you and others around them. It really makes you feel as if you are actually there while these amazing feats of engineering are being constructed. Currently, it is available to watch instantly on Netflix.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but Kicking It is a pretty good documentary about teams of homeless men fro different countries who meet up in South Africa to compete in the 4th annual Homeless World Cup. If you like soccer, you'll probably like it.

"Man on Wire is a 2008 British documentary film directed by James Marsh. The film chronicles Philippe Petit's 1974 high-wire walk between the Twin Towers of New York's World Trade Center. It is based on Philippe Petit's book, To Reach the Clouds, recently released in paperback with the new title Man on Wire. The title of the movie is taken from the police report that led to the arrest (and later release) of Petit, whose performance had lasted for almost one hour. The film is crafted like a heist film, presenting rare footage of the preparations for the event and still photographs of the walk, alongside reenactments (with Paul McGill as the young Petit) and present-day interviews with the participants."

I just watched Running The Sahara last night and really enjoyed it. It's, aptly enough, about three guys who run the entire length of the Sahara, starting at the Atlantic Ocean in Senegal and ending at the Red Sea.

I finally got through all of the ESPN 30 for 30 documentaries. I suggest you watch the top 3 on my ranking list to the right. After that I guess it all depends on what sport you like the most.

Just watched Waking Sleeping Beauty.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waking_Sleeping_Beauty

Its about Disney Animated movies from the early 80s when animation was basically dead to the reemergence in the late 80s/early 90s with The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King etc.

It talked about some of the differences Roy Disney, Michael Eisner, and Jeffery Katzenberg had with each other.

Since I was a very little kid during the time of most of this I thought it was interesting to see how close some of these were to not even being made at all.

Highly recommended.

http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/blogs/rolling-stone-video-blog/new-foo-fighters-documentary-back-and-forth-traces-bands-entire-career-20110330

I haven't seen it on VH1 again since it first aired though.

Visual Acoustics is back on instant watch. I'd recommend it for anyone who is interested in modern architecture and photography. It focuses on Julius Schulman and how his photographs have made a lot of the modern houses we know famous.
