I didn't think they should be in Milwaukee (stupid Selig, like that CLE-SEA series a couple of years back that got snowed out), either. But it's not the Cubs' fault. It's like other people being the "home" team for a makeup in a double-header (ChiSox "hosting" the O's in Baltimore a few weeks). Owners wanted the $ the Cubs would bring in, I guess.

Or like the NFL giving the Saints a "home" game in the Meadowlands vs. the NY Giants, perhaps the biggest screwjob of them all.

Anyway, woot for Lilly! NL Central Magic Number: 6

^^ your right. there is no reason to get mad at the cubs. Its not there fault that the mlb wanted more than 5 fans at some other neutral site. Also, if the cubs had lost those two games, it still probably would not have made a difference in terms of division champs

Well, until last night, Marquis had been 4-1 in his last 5 starts, gving up one home run to Carlos Lee in that time.

One thing I have noticed this season is that whenever Marquis gives up his "standard" three runs in the 2nd or 3rd inning, the rest of the team doesn't give him any run support. Then we scores like 3-0 against the Pirates in July, 3-0 against Houston ealier this month, and 6-2 like last night.

Baseball season's underway
Well you better get ready for a brand new day.
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

They're singing ...
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go

Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go

Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

They got the power, they got the speed
To be the best in the National League
Well this is the year and Cubs are real
So come on down to Wrigley Field

We're singing now ...

Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

Baseball time is here again
You can catch it all on WGN
So stamp you feet and clap your hands
Chicago Cubs got the greatest fans.

You're singing now ...

Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

Home field through NLCS. If not for 78 errors in the AS game by Dan Uggla, then it might be home field through the entire postseason. Go Cubs Go

You know, it is quite a luxury to have ted lilly in a fourth game, when he is arguably pitching better than anyone on the staff right now. (two no hitter in his last 2/3 games, carrying them in to the seventh---I can't remeber how many).

We might need him to as kuroda (sp) has shut us out twice this season.

With all due respect, this is why you don't rest ALL your players and pitchers for games at a time...

When the Mets ran away with it in '06 they played their best lineup most nights to stay sharp and didn't skip anyone's spot in the rotation... and they were playing teams that weren't in a pennant race (and no, I'm not blaming the Cubs for the Mets not making it -- they did the same versus the Mets AND Brewers that last week)...

The Cubs just don't look sharp tonight.

I agree with what you're saying, but a few of them needed the rest.

Soto and Fukudome are both basically rookies so it made obvious sense to rest them. Soriano definitely doesn't seem in it tonight though, I don't know what his deal is. He's been swinging at everything down and away. Dempster pitched horribly...by his standards, way too many walks. I just hope this serves as a wake up call.

Soto was pretty banged up, right? Didn't he hurt his wrist? Personally, given they had a choice, I probably wouldn't have gone to Dempster for Game 1 despite his great home #'s this season. He just doesn't have the pedigree of a Harden/Big Z... Just my 2 cents...

In any case, the Cubs have too good pitching to not get back in this series...

I was thinking about that earlier, and I think it's because most of the time, when you win the Wild Card, it comes down to the last week, if not the last few days of the season. And to win it, you usually have to play good baseball & have good chemistry. And that can easily carry over into the post-season

I hope Big Z shows up tomorrow and is able to send this thing back to LA tied up.

If the bats would wake the fuck up, I wouldn't be as worried as I am now.

Also kinda weird how errors come from the most unlikely players
