"to the ppl who said Battlefield Earth sucked i thought it was a good movie right up until they went through the teleporter....but yah for that much money it should have been better"

alright, first off i know you have already said that it could have been better but for those that haven't seen it, i would like to continue pointing out why it was not good from opening credits forward.

the psyclones (aliens) only advantage over the humans is that they wear gigantic boots making them a foot taller. its more like they were smart at some point, but then sent all the dumbasses to earth to look for gold. the humans have somehow become so stupid that when they get to fort knox, they know that the "lead walls of the cave" will keep the psyclones from detecting where they are, but they call it a cave instead of a building. they (humans) find out about fort knox from a book in the library of congress, which travolta's character shows them the library. the whole point of the aliens being there was to get gold (stupid enough on its own) yet in 1000 years they have never figured out that there is a hoard of it at fort knox. i have a 5 gallon container of gasoline in my storage shed that will likely go bad before i can use it all in my tiny lawn mower. there is no way that jet fuel is going to last 1000 years, let alone the jet or the flight simulator. and if those retards can learn how to fly a fighter jet in a few days using a flight simulator, well that part just pissed me off. anyway, i feel a little better now.

the best part about battlefield earth is that you get a bunch of beer (and i mean a bunch or you will run out) and drink every time they say "leverage".

^^ yes it does, because it isn't about anything

and don't try to explain what it's about or why it's important or profound, because it's not. They had to make a website that explained their movie because it didn't make any fucking sense and was about nothing, but everyone latched on to this "Donnie Darko is such an awesome movie. Oh, you didn't understand it? How could you not get it? Let me explain it to you." bullshit and kept perpetuating the lie that the movie was good and about something interesting.

I'm sorry to admit that I was one of those 200 people around the nation that went to go see the Dead or Alive movie in the theaters. At least it was only in the 1.50's.
EPIC FAIL.

i disagree. it was an enjoyable, good movie. not a great movie by any means, and not any that I would list as a best movie ever in any circumstance, but a good one. it has something different to it, just in the way the movie is put together, some memorable (even if somewhat shallow) characters, and i loved the music.

however it is INSANELY overrated because of the all the people that act like what you describe.

But having it as a worst movie of all time is lol.

Legally Blonde.

Sure there have been worse movies.... but does your wife insist on watching them every time they are on TV (and thanks to TBS and Comedy Central, this is on about 3 or 4 times every week)?

Seriously though, someone should be castrated for Bulletproof Monk.

I think Donnie Darko is extremely overrated and I'm not a huge fan by any means, but saying it isn't about anything is just dumb.

No, Pan's Labyrinth goes on the list. The "villains" felt like they were drawn in crayon and designed by a 4 year-old. There comes a point where they get too damn evil and I don't believe them any more.

if you cant get past that (even tho i loved the style of the creatures), im sorry. but the acting was great, score was solid, and it was a great movie overall. some people dont understand the concept of this thread, either that or have insanely terrible tastes in movies if youre saying pan's labyrinth was one of the worst movies you ever saw.

Yeah I would have thought that by starting the thread with Battlefield Earth people wouldn't dare include decent movies in the same list.

Anyway, saw some shitty movie on late night TV this past weekend called Descent.

the Descent? in the cave with the monsters?

that movie rocked.

I don't see how you can even attempt to call that even in the lower tier of horror when there are movies like Dead Silence, The Eye, and Pulse.

nevermind, i'll assume you're talking about http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1177708-descent/

my mistake.

i'm sure everyone will disagree, but my vote goes to the first spiderman as the worst movie i've ever seen. its the only movie i've ever considered walking out of. i found the the plot was terrible, characters were paper thin, and the acting and dialog simply atrocious.

another just plain bad movie that hasn't been mentioned is Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. you'd think a film featuring Peter Frampton, George Burns, Billy Preston, Steve Martin, Earth, Wind & Fire, and the Bee Gees covering the album would at least be entertaining...nope, not in the least.

I saw Raising Arizona recently, and thought it was pretty much unfunny shite.

Manos: Hands of Fate is a great movie...if you watch the MST3000 version.

there is a HUGE difference between someone not liking a movie and obviously terrible movies/worst movie of all time.

if you think something like raising arizona is the worst movie of all time.. then...
