I think the Bears soured on Moose because his production went down in receptions. But the story isn't that he lost ability, it's that their QB situation has been iffy for a while and Berrian emerged. I think he could still be a solid player for us and the familiarity with him and Jake could really help. With us losing Colbert and Carter, I could see this happening.
2/18/2008 8:26:54 PM
we're losing carter?
2/18/2008 8:30:10 PM
^ i hope so, i'm tired of him and colbert's hot potato shenanigans
2/18/2008 9:57:11 PM
Jordan Gross just got the franchise tag http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3253922
2/20/2008 9:03:50 AM
I think Carter's contract is up and I don't know if we'll pick him back up. He was really hit or miss, he showed flashes of being a good WR but wasn't consistent enough.
2/20/2008 9:10:48 AM
awwww yeah
2/20/2008 11:28:36 AM
Gross is solid but goddamn he's goofy looking
2/20/2008 1:15:41 PM
Panthers cut RB Deshaun Fosterhttp://www.rotoworld.com/content/HeadLines.aspx?sport=NFL&hl=112723
2/21/2008 5:07:41 PM
2/21/2008 5:14:46 PM
sweet...$4.75 million cap relief...holla
2/21/2008 5:16:41 PM
hell, i'll miss him some
2/21/2008 5:16:48 PM
i miss how a lot of players played in the 02-03 season...but its not like foster was producing recentlythanks for the memories but its time to part ways, BYE!
2/21/2008 5:18:03 PM
i will always remember him for the TD vs. the eagles though
2/21/2008 5:20:47 PM
yeah, didnt see a big enough picture on google image
2/21/2008 5:22:02 PM
^^
2/21/2008 5:23:16 PM
I'll remember Deshaun for having more career fumbles (11) than touchdowns (10)
2/21/2008 5:25:24 PM
^winner
2/21/2008 5:55:56 PM
in fairness, he did catch 4 additional touchdownsthat being said, good riddance...DeAngelo and who? Chester Taylor? Michael Turner? Jamal Lewis? somebody else?
2/21/2008 6:02:59 PM
2/21/2008 6:06:38 PM
just a picture doesnt do that play justicehe was a horse and broke like 234234 tackles
2/21/2008 6:09:19 PM
this news sucks, sortawe have not had any luck with rb besides steven davisby the way i think we should keep carter as a 3rd wr, he always comes up with the big catches[Edited on February 21, 2008 at 6:15 PM. Reason : .]
2/21/2008 6:14:27 PM
Jamal Lewis just inked a 3 year deal with Cleveland, so scrap that.On the WR front, Berrian will be available, and Randy Moss didn't get tagged either (dream on).Capers joins NE coaching staff.
2/21/2008 10:31:39 PM
I'll say it till I dieJack Del Rio WAS the Panthers
2/21/2008 10:33:20 PM
we got to the nfc title game in 05 with trgovacbut whenever you have a good def coord like del rio, he's going to eventually get a head coach offer
2/21/2008 10:35:39 PM
Choppin' wood
2/21/2008 10:49:14 PM
watch us fucking draft a RB in the first roundthat being said, i'm glad Foster is gone.
2/21/2008 10:58:20 PM
^Personally, if a player with high draft grade falls to our spot, I would rather draft him than draft a need. That's what the Vikings did with Adrian Peterson last year. It didn't turn out too bad for them.
2/21/2008 11:05:19 PM
the only AP caliber back in this draft is D Mac and he wont be therei'd like to get a proven back out of free agency instead of landing another Eric Shelton]
2/21/2008 11:08:11 PM
like Fargas/Turner^first round i think they need Ryan Clady out of Boise st.panthers need line help badddddddddd[Edited on February 21, 2008 at 11:16 PM. Reason : j]
2/21/2008 11:11:21 PM
I'm hoping for somebody like Vernon Goldston or Ryan Clady. That WR Kelly from Oklahoma isn't too bad though.
2/21/2008 11:16:51 PM
sweed's the one we need
2/21/2008 11:21:00 PM
any chance they take dujuan in the second round? if Green Bay passes on himand then that Simpson kid from Coastal Carolina later like in the 3rd?would help out for sure[Edited on February 21, 2008 at 11:37 PM. Reason : b]
2/21/2008 11:31:44 PM
i'm going to miss foster. yeah he had some durabilty concerns, and yeah he fumbled at times, but the guy gave his all evey play. Injuries eventually took away some of his burst, but he had some of the most incredible balance/tackle breaking ability i've ever seen. good luck to him -- i get the feeling he's still got a lot left in the tank.
2/22/2008 6:37:32 AM
i say go for Turner...I really wish there was some way they could steal Barber from the 'boys
2/22/2008 8:44:00 AM
2/22/2008 2:10:54 PM
Cardinals cut Holt, Panthers need a FS.....
2/22/2008 2:15:53 PM
he'll get picked up soon thats for sureI cant believe we cut him, we need FS help like nothing else, the Saints and Seahawks lit us up on the passI dont see how this move is good for the Cards
2/22/2008 2:17:48 PM
they need to free up money to throw at fitzgerald.
2/22/2008 2:32:09 PM
what they NEED is an o Line and specifically safety and DB's to stop Brees and Hasselback from throwing for only 15 incompletions COMBINED in those two games
2/22/2008 2:38:16 PM
Looks like the Panthers are no longer interested in Crumpler.http://community.heraldonline.com/cross_those_two_off
2/22/2008 2:56:12 PM
yeah, i'm thinking he's got long term issues with his knees...that, and probably asking for at least 4 mil a year for 5 years.
2/22/2008 3:16:21 PM
Good call. He is asking for $4 million a year.http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playernews.aspx?sport=NFL&filter_position=TE
2/22/2008 3:27:17 PM
lol, lucky guess.....personally, I don't think we need a TE. Crumpler would have been a good addition, but the two we have are solid. D-line, RB, WR, FS and O-Line are the glaring needs right now.
2/22/2008 3:33:00 PM
i'd love to sign crumpler to a 2 year deal but 5 years, nope
2/22/2008 3:52:21 PM
stallworth is a free agent now
2/22/2008 5:00:03 PM
good contribution by you bill maasHe's decent, but he'll probably command more money than he's worthGimme that nigga Mushin, and make him buy Jeff King a 360 to get back number 87
2/22/2008 5:10:07 PM
I too want Mushin back. And on top of that Crumpler would be a excellent edition. We have decent TE's. A good solid catching, receiving threat to open up the passing game and to help whoever is the QB have a solid last resort would be perfect.I for one want Crumpler in our uniform. III
2/22/2008 5:34:09 PM
he cost way to much for us considering we need more important roles fill
2/22/2008 5:47:49 PM
From DraftDaddy.com:"Flozell Adams is now getting love from Kansas City, Baltimore and Atlanta....Carolina is still toying with trading Julius Peppers...."http://www.draftdaddy.com/blog/nfldraft.cfm7th paragraph down. Also from same link"Tatum Bell and Julius Jones have been linked to Tennessee, Tampa Bay and Carolina....""Martz thinks he can reclaim him and Alex Smith's support in the Bay Area is on life support. Carolina wide receiver Kerry Colbert is also very interested in playing the slot for Martz. His agent confirmed that to us."[Edited on February 22, 2008 at 6:14 PM. Reason : .]
2/22/2008 6:08:56 PM
there's no way in hell that the panthers will trade julius peppers, unless it's for like 5 first round picks or something.
