Autumn did a great job with my eyebrow, and has been super-friendly any time I stop by to get new jewelry for it or get a piece changed out.
12/30/2007 1:35:55 AM
Yup. My nipples were just REALLY not doing well ~15mos after the piercing, and I went by to have her take them out (as pus production never stopped, and she was pretty clear about not taking jewelry out if it wasn't healthy, lest you risk an abcess. She takes one look and says "oh, you're having a reaction to the stainless steel. Let's get you some titanium bars". I <3 her. They never got better, though, so I took them out.

12/30/2007 2:13:12 AM
i'm assuming that ear piercings are just like any other body piercing, where you can't just take them out willy-nilly for hours at a time for work immediately after you've gotten the piercing done? when it's healing, it's still basically an open wound that would quickly close up if there wasn't a big stainless steel rod keeping it open. so unless you're taking the next month off...
12/30/2007 2:44:06 AM
well, i mean it's not like he gets paid
12/30/2007 2:46:13 AM
Yeah I'd be careful about just taking the rings in and out.You might want to invest in some bioplast (clear, flexible) barbells.

This thread is quickly syrupassing your other good thread.

gg evan ♥I don't think you can take a freshly-pierced piercing out whenever you want, because the hole will close up pretty quickly. I think you have to have them for at least a year or more until you're able to do that. I know when I got my nipples pierced, 6 months later I had to take them out when I had my eye surgery, and they were closed up 1.5 weeks later. (on a side note, the person who pierced them the first time did them again for free when I explained my case! It's been over a year and I haven't taken them out yet)A friend of mine who got his ears pierced, and to be a referee for a kids soccer game, he put bandaids over his earrings to be in compliance with the dress code by the officiating company.

12/30/2007 7:52:57 PM
okay, sohow do i take care of these fuckers afterwardsive been washing them with antibacterial soap and then scrubbing them with iodineand i've got this H2Ocean shit one of my friends gave me that's pretty much salt water, but it makes them feel betterthey're really sore though and they keep getting like... crustywhen does this go awayand am i doing something wrong?
1/3/2008 12:02:33 AM
your first mistake was getting them ears pierced in the first place
1/3/2008 12:04:31 AM
just keep cleaning them gently, and move the rings at least a couple times a day to break up the crust. it's all normal. just don't go crazy with a bunch of hydrogen peroxide or a lot of scrubbing- it'll just irritate it more. piercings take forever to heal for me. i never got the one in my (upper) ear to heal, probably because i put gel in my hair. sweeeet thanksalso whenever i remove the crust from around the holes (rofl)sometimes it produces this like... white pus-looking substancebut it doesn't smell like pus, have the consistency of pus, or look infectedis THAT normal?
1/3/2008 1:14:52 AM
yeah i think so, if the piercing is new that would be dead white blood cells, it should go away once the piercing is fully healed, if not see your piercer.
1/3/2008 1:25:21 AM
the dried stuff pus-like-stuff is normal just keep them clean
1/3/2008 1:26:09 AM
yeah i was gonna say it kinda looked like lymphatic fluidgood to know that it's normal
1/3/2008 1:32:11 AM
or it's not and you may have an ear fall off......either one
1/3/2008 1:33:58 AM
isn't it great to pick at the crusties of a fresh piercing and then smell your fingers? it's like a fucking train wreck for your nose, like after fingering that girl after drinking all night. you know it's not gonna be pleasant, but damn if you can help it anyway
1/3/2008 3:10:27 AM
