jesus christ Georgia fans are bitching and bitching...hearing a lot of "I wouldnt pay a dime to see us play fucking hawaii", "what a worthless game", "we got completely robbed and cheated out of the NC game"and the dumbass logic they are using... jesus
12/3/2007 7:59:57 PM
you're never cheated out of a national title game if you have two losses and can't win your division...
12/3/2007 8:03:05 PM
for any uga fan to feel cheated out of the MNC game is laughablethe only two sides to the sugar bowl argument are "awesome, we're going to murder hawaii and their gimmicky offense" and "shit, we're going to be murdered by hawaii and their gimmicky offense"i'd go with the former

its ALL over the AJC down here....they claim "we have the same record as LSU, only difference, we beat Kentucky, they didnt.."oh really? only difference? what about them beating Tennessee and Tennessee beating the shit out of you for the 2nd year in a row?
12/3/2007 8:09:21 PM
Georgia is just pissed because they play a non-bcs school. If they win, they were supposed to, if they lose, they're the laughing stock of the SEC and probably country. lose-lose situation.
12/3/2007 8:10:09 PM
I agree... they have nothing to gain, everything to lose
12/3/2007 8:12:39 PM
yup. they had better win, and win big.
12/3/2007 8:17:03 PM
I'll laugh when LSU blows tOSU FUCKeyes out of the water; proving that for the 2nd year in a row they did not deserve to be at the NC game and how fucking ridiculous the Bowl Computer Series really is. The BCS to sports is like the Electoral College of politics. Fucking over the fans and players; giving the powers to a few tool bags to make the decision.Unless you are a tOSU fan or have a major stock investment in one of the media firms I do not see how anyone can support the BCS as a legitimate way of choosing the "Champion" of college football.[Edited on December 3, 2007 at 10:12 PM. Ok, so you use the conference schedule as an arguement against someone who was speaking strictly of the OOC schedule, nice. Everybody knows playing an SEC schedule is much tougher than playing a Big Ten schedule, and nobody was trying to say otherwise.[Edited on December 3, 2007 at 10:38 PM. Reason : .]

was a little different since UF was only one of a few one loss teams and won their conference and even the loss was close. this year it could have gone many ways.[Edited on December 3, 2007 at 10:47 PM. Reason : not that osu doesnt really deserve to be out this year either for similar reasons. more a comment ]

that's why I said look at the quality of teams on ohio state's schedule and then one of the sec schools. Anyone with an ounce of brain power would see how easy ohio state's road to the national championship is.[Edited on December 3, 2007 at 11:24 PM. Reason : ]

guess what guys, argue and bitch and moan all you want to, it doesnt change the fact that the BUCKEYES ARE #1 AND PLAYING IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROWand munster, whatever you tried to say in that last sentence didnt make sense, even though I think I know what you were probably trying to say[Edited on December 4, 2007 at 12:04 AM. they need to go ahead and take the "C" out of BCSdont wear it out
12/4/2007 12:04:42 AM

12/4/2007 12:55:59 AM
dunno if it really needs to be said again, but VT won the computer ranking because the computers don't know how much VT lost to LSU by, nor do they know that LSU lost twice in 3OT. the computers were crippled by the same kind of bullshit that prevents any kind of ranking scheme from being useful for anything other than a decorative piece for the newspaper sports page.

Do you really believe that the Big Ten is unquestionably the worst conference right now? I mean it's not like they're competing for the top spot, but there was a whole lot of mediocrity all over the place this year. The Big East, Big 12 and ACC are certainly nothing special.
12/4/2007 1:12:19 AM
^^When you play in a crappy conference, you'd better not play a crappy non-conference schedule if you want respect and a shot at the national championship. Hawaii is content going undefeated against a bunch of lousy teams, and that is fine with me. But they chose to play for a perfect record instead of a schedule that would test them and warrant national championship consideration.[Edited on December 4, 2007 at 1:16 AM. Reason : .]

Or you know, they could man up and play a road game a la Boise State (who got creamed at UGA), instead of just playing Charleston Southern and Northern Colorado. To be fair, they scheduled the mighty Washington Huskies and UNLV in nonconference play as well. They managed to come from one of the softer conferences, and make their nonconference schedule even worse. WTG Hawaii.

if we had a playoff hawaii could go undefeated and get punched in the mouth by a bcs conference team...oh a playoff
12/4/2007 1:34:51 AM
that's still looking very likely to happen.
12/4/2007 1:38:16 AM

i meant it's very likely that hawaii gets punched in the mouth by a bcs team. i do not want a playoff in college football.
12/4/2007 1:40:49 AM
well in that case i agree about hawaiibut i, like most college football fans, DO want a playoff considering pretty much every other level of every sport has one...or maybe we should get some pollsters to select which two teams play in the superbowl or world series...or maybe just pick the final 4 of the ncaa bball tourney before it starts...do those sound like good ideas?
12/4/2007 1:44:26 AM
12/4/2007 1:46:51 AM
the only people i know who are against a playoff tend to be fans of traditional powerhouses, ie ohio state, michigan, oklahoma, southern cal, alabama, etc...they know that they already have love from the writers and coaches and will have a good preseason ranking consistently, which is a huge inherent advantage in the shitty playoff-less current systemif state was regularly in the preseason top 10 i could see myself being against a playoff too...but for fans of the other 100 teams in the country...a playoff is obviously the best thing[Edited on December 4, 2007 at 1:50 AM.
