i hope they redshirt the kid. i can deal with another less than stellar season to give Glennon a chance to mature and gain some much needed weight
3/19/2008 8:38:53 AM
well if we have 3 bad qbs i would at least want the fast one out there.
3/19/2008 11:04:16 AM
Someone said that Wilson's throwing motion looks similar to Chris Leak's.
3/19/2008 11:06:49 AM
I'll take a couple of chris leak's around here. That mofo was probably one of the most accurate passers in north carolina high school history, and was damn good at florida except when he got rattled.
3/19/2008 3:51:39 PM
Talking with several players, the word is they all want/think Glennon can start from the get go. But the coaches will have the last say, so it depends on if they want him to redshirt or not. I think he would greatly benefit from watching a season fromt he sidelines and also hitting the weights. A certain wideout (who is 6'5'') said he looked up to him so he has gota be about 6'7''.
3/19/2008 4:42:51 PM
I would really like to redshirt Glennon. Can you imagine what a year 5 Glennon behind a year 6 O'Brien offensive line could do? Plus I really want to make sure he gets some weight on him and train properly to give him a better chance at not getting injured during his career. I know that Chuck needed to start Rivers immediately to see results right away, but can you imagine how what could have been in 2004 had he redshirted? We would have had a potent offense and the #1 defense in the land. Perhaps we would have finally won the ACC for the first time since 1979.Hopefully TOB can get us to a consistent level of talent across the board, so that we don't have to go through rebuilding years again. Just reload each year with experienced talent. I wouldn't mind in the future to use a two QB system if Wilson can give us a more mobile look to our offensive schemes. Whether we go solely with Glennon or Wilson, or a two QB system, the future is definitely looking better than our situation has been these past 4 years.

^^geron says whats up
3/19/2008 6:09:32 PM
geron was looking like a beast out there. word is he is up to around 245 or 250. i have more pics of him i might put up on pack pride later.
3/19/2008 6:49:47 PM
^don't get carried away. He was quoted as saying he was 225 about a month ago and the guys on pp said he may have gained a few but didn't have a weight. I HIGHLY doubt he's over 230.
3/19/2008 7:55:37 PM
are these practices open or soemthing?
3/19/2008 7:57:25 PM
yesterday's apparently was, but the rest of them are closed i think.
3/19/2008 8:03:21 PM
Just my .02, but if Glennon were to be here for Spring ball, I'd say his chances of starting were 1/3. Not being in spring ball, I put them at 1/10. Seriously, he'll have 20 practices to get ready for S.Carolina. Remember, Rivers was here for spring ball before his true Frosh year, that's 30 extra practices and 3 more months of learning the play book and meshing with teammates. nearly impossible to do that in 6 weeks, but then again, his competition ain't Tebow
3/19/2008 8:47:05 PM
He's around 225
3/20/2008 10:02:34 AM
25 days till the Spring game
3/25/2008 9:30:29 PM

don't get to excited, chances are we get smoked in columbiawill be there and am hoping for the best, but this could be a tough season[Edited on March 25, 2008 at 10:14 PM. Reason : .]
3/25/2008 10:13:39 PM
half of USC's team is suspended it seems like. we won't get smoked either way.i hope Wilson (or Glennon) burns Chris Culliver deep first play of the game.
3/25/2008 10:16:31 PM
have they already started selling season tickets?
3/25/2008 11:17:24 PM
we were tailgating for the canes game today and the team walked by leaving practice...willie young is already talking about usc and was like "bring ya ass"
3/25/2008 11:24:34 PM
well, I hope they dont play USC... South Carolina will be hard enough
3/25/2008 11:45:55 PM
nah, they're just a few arrests away from having to hold tryouts aren't they?
3/25/2008 11:46:32 PM
^^^ speaking of willie young, i see him in clark all the time, and that guy got fucking big.
3/26/2008 12:01:24 AM
his pics from last weeks gallery were as impressive as Geron's. He's starting to look like a defensive end.
3/26/2008 12:03:02 AM
3/26/2008 12:18:29 AM
being excited about the first game is NOT the same as predicting a 4 loss season.
3/26/2008 12:22:10 AM
3/26/2008 12:30:00 AM
I've always heard them called South Carolina.I bet most people hearing USC would think USC, not South Carolina... in fact, I bet at least 48 states would think that... probably 49
3/26/2008 12:42:27 AM
USC = Southern CalCarolina = UNCSouth Carolina = a shithole.^^you're dumb[Edited on March 26, 2008 at 12:48 AM. Reason : ]

In a thread that is OBVIOUSLY about the University of South Carolina, why the fuck would USC stand for Southern Cal?Yes, that's the typical abbreviation of Southern Cal, but if you honestly think someone in this thread meant that, you're clearly too dumb to be on the internet. Context, motherfuckers... It means shit.
3/26/2008 1:46:54 AM
jesus christ, we don't need a full page of people explaining to jaybee who the university of south carolina is. there is no question whatsoever that he knows this already.
3/26/2008 1:57:01 AM
sarcasm....the internet is serious business
3/26/2008 7:40:55 AM
3/26/2008 7:42:46 AM
my ex gf that went to uga always got confused when I called southern cal USC and thought I was talking about South Carolina. Maybe not the best example but...

3/26/2008 3:02:06 PM
^ for your own sake, don't drink it up like that.did you learn nothing from basketball?
3/26/2008 5:59:49 PM
perhaps Willie saying "bring ya ass", he meant it as try and make it to the game down in Columbia, and not bring on USC right now, we're ready for them. the players like to see their fans in the stands on away games. it reminds them how much support they have and how great of fans they have.
3/26/2008 6:23:47 PM
wolfAApack check your gmail; we need to talk about tickets. kkthx
3/26/2008 8:35:33 PM
who all wants to go to this game? i'd like to meet up with some fellow hardcore wolfpack fans and do some tailgating in Columbia. i think Williams-Brice Stadium, like Carter-Finley, is beside the state fairgrounds. hopefully we'll have plenty of fans there to represent on the college gameday show that they usually have to kick off the season.
3/26/2008 8:48:51 PM
i'll be going to this game. whether it's through my cousins living down there or through stubhubi'll for sure have 2 tickets to this game
3/26/2008 9:53:10 PM
of course i am heading down to columbia for this game. it's probably closer than heading to raleigh for any games actually now that i live down in huntersville. anyone got an update on when tickets will start to become available?
3/27/2008 6:48:34 AM
3/27/2008 9:56:24 AM
hey mike, are spero and jay thinking about trying to get tickets?
3/27/2008 11:02:04 AM
when are tickets available?
3/27/2008 11:22:55 AM
I read august 1 a couple months ago on gopack.com.. maybe i shouldn't tell yall that tho so there's more for me. I could be wrong tho.
3/27/2008 11:38:38 AM
I called the USC ticket office about 2 months ago and they said mid-april. Not sure if they're selling visitor section seating. I'm sure they are.

http://www.hometownannapolis.com/blog_bwagner.htmlD.C. Bowl Moves ForwardThe proposed Congressional Bowl took a major step toward becoming a reality on Monday when it signed an agreement with the Atlantic Coast Conference.Sean Metcalf, co-founder of the District of Columbia Bowl Commission, confirmed today that he has nailed down a deal to have the ACC fill a slot for the annual bowl. Plans call for a service academy to fill the other slot with the Naval Academy having already signed a contract to appear in the inaugural Congressional Bowl in 2008. Metcalf is close to signing an agreement with Army and also would like to get Air Force involved."I am extremely pleased the ACC has agreed to become involved with the Congressional Bowl. It was really the last piece of the puzzle," Metcalf said.News of the ACC's commitment enabled ESPN to sign an agreement to televise the fledgling bowl, which is slated to be held on Dec. 20 at either RFK Stadium or the new Nationals Park. Metcalf said the D.C. Bowl Commission can now move forward with filing an application with the NCAA for certification as a postseason contest. The NCAA requires prospective bowls to have guaranteed opponents, a TV contract, venue and a letter of credit. Metcalf said all those elements are in place, including documents proving the proposed Congressional Bowl can meet its mandate of paying $1 million to each participating school.
3/27/2008 2:24:49 PM
will we have another team over .500 that can attend this bowl in the ACC?
3/27/2008 2:39:13 PM
I think the ACC is wanting to get out of the Boise Bowl.
