yeah... i'm pretty bummed about that too.I dont give a shit what Apple Fanboys say, 16GB is not enough for everyone.

9/5/2007 2:15:40 PM
the thing is, it gives me no real incentive to stop using a 2GB card in my PSP for music on the go. if I can't have everything, why should I spend more money to be less-limited?and I'm not trolling...i really, really, really wanted ot get an iPod[Edited on September 5, 2007 at 2:16 PM. Reason : .]
9/5/2007 2:15:54 PM
i figured out apple's success:1) figure out what people want2) give it to them3) profitjust wait, 32gb, gps, etc, it'll come.this has got to be one of the biggest apple events next to the intro to iphone
9/5/2007 2:16:46 PM
16gb is a ridiculous amount of space for videos and music to me.
9/5/2007 2:16:50 PM
I wanted to upgrade to the Touch. I would have easily paid $500 for an 80GB Touch ... Though a 160 would have been ideal (for me).
9/5/2007 2:17:41 PM
speaking of iphones...how does it feel for those who spent $200 extra to early adopt? holy crap fastest and biggest price cut in tech history!
9/5/2007 2:17:48 PM
9/5/2007 2:18:01 PM
yeah, that damn near half off. but if they offered it with a contract at a reduced price it would probably be cheaper, so apple has more than one trick up its sleeve.
9/5/2007 2:18:39 PM
man, that's really gotta sting you early adopters...So SandSanta, how does it feel to have been part of a TRUE $200 beta test??? [Edited on September 5, 2007 at 2:24 PM. Reason : g]
9/5/2007 2:20:09 PM
still no Beatles catalog...oh well
9/5/2007 2:28:25 PM
hey, some guy was trying to sell a 4gb in the classifieds for 450, i guess 200 is a good asking price for him now, lol.
9/5/2007 2:28:46 PM
im pissed....I had myself all pumped up about the ipod touch. I have 30GB of just music, let alone what I would want to do video wise!cmon, hdd based ipod touch with just 80GB was all I wanted...i don't need it to be thinner than the iphone!!
9/5/2007 2:30:23 PM
Doesn't sting at all to have paid $200 more and been using the iPhone all this time. =)
9/5/2007 2:33:07 PM
Yeah, I gotta think most people with iphones won't be bothered at all by this. They didn't mind overpaying in the first place, why get upset now?Just look at the extra $200 as a gift to the almighty God that is Apple.
9/5/2007 2:35:44 PM
I guess $100/month is a small price to pay for street cred

eh, who knows. right now its not worth downgrading to an itouch for me since i already own a 30gb ipod. when they bump up the itouch to over 30gb (give it 6 months) then i'll jump.
9/5/2007 3:06:28 PM
^^^^^see, that shit is just stupid to me. they made the thing retardedly thin like it's what everyone wants instead of making more room for storage. it's not like the most recent gen of iPods were huge. while i have a general distaste for apple's cockiness, this is the first time I think they let their cockiness carry over to product design as in "OMG look how thin we made it!!!!"the problem is, there are enough people out there who will buy it just to have it that apple will feel fully justified in their decisionmeanwhile, I think I'll go buy a 12 disc MP3 changer for my car...$200 for 8GB of storage is a better deal for my needs than settling for something[Edited on September 5, 2007 at 3:16 PM. can you share music with other ipods over the wifi?
9/5/2007 3:12:25 PM
^ I would be willing to bet that someone is writing an application to do this right now.
9/5/2007 3:19:31 PM
not if you bought it from the iTunes store...unless you bought it from iTunes Plus (DRM free)
9/5/2007 3:20:57 PM
^^So you can write applications for this one? ^so you can share non-drm music for sure?
9/5/2007 3:23:07 PM
is anybody else noticing their website is slow as shit?
9/5/2007 3:24:03 PM
well according to apple if you purchase your music from the iTunes Plus store, then you are free to use that song anywhere....since its DRM free.
9/5/2007 3:24:20 PM
^hence the price premium, but i don't think that means share, the unrestricted rights are for owner only.some of ya'll are in the far majority here, i'm guessing this will be the most successful ipod to date[Edited on September 5, 2007 at 3:26 PM. Reason : .]
9/5/2007 3:25:47 PM
ipod to ipod sharing will undoubtedly be introduced at some point. It's a no-brainer.
9/5/2007 3:27:52 PM
^^i didn't say it was legal or illegal to share...i just said it would work because you don't have to authorize the computer to play it anymore.
9/5/2007 3:28:57 PM
^^^^ see thats not what im asking.I want to know if the ipod touch has built in music sharing features that work over the wifi.Senario a)I send music from my ipod to my friends ipod next to me, over the wifi.Senario b)I am near my computer or my friends computer and the computer has iTunes. Can i grab music out of the itunes music share. Or any other music share that might be on there.Senario c)I am near my compute or my friends computer and I want to transfer a song from my ipod to the computer. Is any of this possible with the new ipod touch.^^ so it doesn't do it now?[Edited on September 5, 2007 at 3:30 PM. god damn you stupid fucking mac faggots cant answer a single fucking straight question.
9/5/2007 3:34:09 PM
we wouldn't know the answer to that until we get our hands on one or 'google it' which you can do just fine.
9/5/2007 3:36:17 PM
^^http://www.uninnovate.com/2007/08/01/myphone-share-your-iphones-music-collection-via-wifi/How's that?
9/5/2007 3:39:51 PM
I tried finding the answer on apple's website, but it didn't mention it.And since you guys have had your heads up steve jobs' ass for the last few hours i thought you might have heard something. So I'm going to assume it doesnt. Because that would cut into itunes sales, which jobs would never allow.Another chance to make a decent music player pissed away.edit: ^ assuming the ipod touch uses the same application setup as the iphone, then the answer to my original question was no, but there are ways to hack a makeshift 3rd party app on there.[Edited on September 5, 2007 at 3:43 PM. hmm... could have sworn that all those ipods were successful before... what planet are you from, Shaggyand fwiw, the storage is way too small on the touch. but i would hardly think that the ipod is anything but a good music player[Edited on September 5, 2007 at 3:50 PM. Reason : ]

iPod Touch + microphone input (i'm sure Griffin will make one) + hacked Skype/VoIP service = wi-fi phone
9/5/2007 3:51:26 PM
successful != great designi mean windows is everyhwere, but there are better OS's out thereit's simple - they screwed the pooch by going for thin instead of capacity in my and other people's opinion. if the biggest size was 30+ GB you can be damn sure I would have been waiting outside stores for this shit to hit (well, not camping or anything, but you get the idea)
9/5/2007 3:54:43 PM
^^someone here at work asked if that was possible tooif you don't get a straight answer chances are it wasn't talked about, and since it is a brand new product that just came out today, chances are no one but Apple knows, the best you can do is check Apple's site and Google, and you did that. the questions are not always yes/no if there's no information about it[Edited on September 5, 2007 at 4:02 PM.
