Nintendo has the only console with a curling game on it
9/9/2007 5:02:14 PM
its also the only console that has mario games.any game like that will be boring as hell on a console that doesn't have interactivity like the wii. Thats what makes it fun, not the fact that its a curling game.[Edited on September 9, 2007 at 5:08 PM. Reason : fda]
9/9/2007 5:08:01 PM
So basically what you're saying is that you could program any stupid crap into a game and you would enjoy it because you get to waggle your hand while you control it.
9/9/2007 11:38:30 PM
I think he's saying, motion sensing adds to a game that could potentially be boring. Bowling...boring as fuck. Wii Bowling, awesomeness.

Wii bowling still kind of sucks. Yes, I have played it.Wii baseball and Wii boxing is fun, but you know what? So is Fight Night Round 3 and MLB baseball.
9/10/2007 12:16:41 AM
I don't believe we ever contested that fact..Wii Sports on PS3 = laughed atWii Sports on Wii = addictingGame with good reviews on PS3 = GoodGame with good reviews on Wii = Good
9/10/2007 12:20:30 AM
yes but EA Sports Curling 07 and Curling 2k7 both suck terriblyYou are comparing two games that are nothing alike. One is almost real in its graphics and physics and game play. One is a bunch of big headed cartoon characters and the only thing you do is swing a bat to play. lamebowling on the Wii and the tennis are the only two sports games worth playing more than once.
9/10/2007 12:20:57 AM
But a game with good reviews on the 360 will probably be better than one with similar reviews on the wii. It's all a matter of standards, if reviewers held every console to the same standard there would be barely any DS games that would top a 6/10.
9/10/2007 12:25:16 AM
^^Not true. Boxing is super fun if you find someone of similar skill level than you.
9/10/2007 9:44:49 AM
^^ Tell me, what standards are more important than "am I having fun playing this?". Graphics are held to different standards, true. However the enjoyability of a game is the most important.
9/10/2007 9:48:12 AM
AndyMac, i'm not sure what your point of your last 3 or 4 posts is? Are you saying they should make a curling game on 360/PS3 because it would be so awesome like fight night 3?
9/10/2007 10:58:43 AM
I'm saying any curling game sucks.
9/10/2007 11:06:15 AM
I think he's saying that no matter what console it's on, curling sucks Waggle can make a great game better (MP3, RE4) but it can't make a shitty game good (Spider-Man 3).
9/10/2007 11:08:32 AM
You shut your goddamn dirty mouth, curling is the best sport in the world.

I'd be very curious to know the numbers of Wiis sold if there wasn't current supply problems
9/13/2007 5:42:07 PM
true... perhaps they were referring to the launch dates... its a poorly worded statement
9/13/2007 5:42:38 PM
On the US side though, Xbox is still winning[Edited on September 13, 2007 at 5:51 PM. Reason : I have both systems though, love them both]
9/13/2007 5:51:06 PM
The Japanese are far to racist for an American console to do well there.

Damn people are still buying Wii Play?
9/13/2007 11:05:05 PM
Yeah, the same people who are still buying the Wii.It's practically a must own.
9/14/2007 12:18:56 AM
http://sonydefenseforce.com/Ahaha, check out this graph.I like how they show the "Sony family" as the same group, but split up the DS and Wii.
9/14/2007 1:03:50 AM
Because if they did it would make X-box look really small.
9/14/2007 1:05:39 AM
9/14/2007 1:21:42 AM
The Sony column is made up of 3 consoles, PS2, PS3, and PSP.And none of them are selling as well as any of the other 3 on the graph.[Edited on September 14, 2007 at 1:23 AM. Reason : which is what makes it so hilarious]
9/14/2007 1:23:02 AM
didn't know it had the PS2 in there too...haha makes it even funnier.
9/14/2007 1:27:22 AM
Also, Madden for Xbox outsold Madden for Wii.Not Xbox 360XBOX
9/14/2007 1:40:18 AM
9/14/2007 1:47:25 AM
But it's ridiculous to combine multiple consoles in the first place.

9/14/2007 7:51:02 AM
Its from SonyDefense. I'm pretty sure that is a website that hypes Sony stuff as a joke. It gave Lair a 10/10.That chart is just brilliant for the comedic value.
9/14/2007 8:59:27 AM
so is someone going to re-name this thread wii circle jerk or not?
9/14/2007 10:23:10 AM
Threads can't be renamed. But you can keep bitching if you want.
9/14/2007 10:32:20 AM
^^ Your welcome to try to defend the Ps3 here.
9/14/2007 10:33:12 AM
What's there to defend, I've already said everything there is to say and nothing is going to change between now and Christmas unless Sony announces a $399.99 40GB SKU (which is highly unlikely). The Wii is still the cheapest console, the 360 still has the best game lineup, and the PS3 is still very expensive and lacks a real system mover. I would like to point out that I was right about the Wii in relation to software sales. Bioshock 360 outsold MP3 2:1, and Madden 2008 sales on the Wii were pathetic (outsold by the PS3 3:1, really?). People are buying it as a party fixture and to play Wii Sports, and 3rd party developers are going to continue to ignore it outside of vaporware and PS2 ports.
9/14/2007 10:44:43 AM
^ Interesting post.
9/14/2007 10:45:45 AM
wait you're using Madden as your shining point..after all your bitching that the Wii was only impressive to casual gamers...you don't get much more casual then Madden[Edited on September 14, 2007 at 10:49 AM. Reason : a]
9/14/2007 10:49:41 AM
See - I don't need to defend the PS3 to all the Wii and 360 owners. I am perfectly happy with my PS3 and the 9 games I've bought for it in the first 7 monts of owning it. I'm also happy with having a Blu-Ray player.I just like how you made a "console war" thread and the only people who really came are the wii owners...must be bored waiting for ANYTHING to play. Oh wait, you got MP2...so now you're waiting for a 2nd game to play.Yes, I'll get a 360 when I'm fairly confident that they aren't just a huge technological disaster waiting to happen to me and there are enough games out there that I want to play and can't play on my computer or PS3. Right now the only game I'm wishing I could play that requires me to buy a 360 is Dead Rising.I might buy a Wii, but I'm guessing Nintendo will be the first company to release a inbetween-gen console that actually picks it up in the graphics area. Curling and Zelda crossbow aren't just a selling point for me.
9/14/2007 10:54:19 AM
I'm not using Madden as a shining point. There is nothing shining about the PS3s sales, software or hardware. I'm pointing out that J6P, your average gamer, isn't flocking to the Wii for their next gen gaming needs. He still prefers the traditional consoles and that's what the majority of 3rd party development is going to focus on. The Wii is an enigma as far as consoles go, it's like nothing we've seen before. Usually, software pushes hardware. In the Wii's case, it's hardware is pushing itself and the most popular game on the console is practically a tech demo that was bundled with the console. It's awesome that it's doing well, and I'm happy for Nintendo. But don't expect it to change the trend of weak 3rd party support for Nintendo consoles, that has been established over the past decade.

It's worth noting that Metroid Prime 3 was only available 4 days before this statistic was compiled, compared to Bioshock's 10. I'm not saying that September's sales chart will tell a different story though.
9/14/2007 11:11:55 AM
Geez it all comes down to taste, and what kind of gamer you are I guess. I wouldn't really say that either of them are better than any of them, except in terms of games and online interfacing, I think the 360 is the best. I have a PS3 though, but just because that was my taste. I wanted a bluray player and something that would output 1080p on my 1080p tv. I also really like the games that are exclusively on the PS3.Not to say I don't like the xbox 360 games (I had an Xbox). I mean, Gears and Bioshock are freaking fantastic. I'm just more pumped I guess for MGS4, FFXIII, Hopefully a new Twisted Metal. Just a matter of taste. This whole fanboy console war thing is just flat out LAME.

U.S. market Sales [ALL to date].U.S. market Sales [YTD].
9/14/2007 11:55:59 AM
shows you what madden and bioshock did for 360 sales at least. pretty large spike. i assume the ds spike was pokemon related?
9/14/2007 12:05:43 PM
Bold prediction: September (and possibly October) the 360 will overtake the wii in sales per month.
9/14/2007 12:07:17 PM

The real reason for the 360 sales spike.http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7744783&postcount=5736But seriously, this is just amazing. The funniest thing in the thread was the dude saying he went to drop his coffin off at UPS, and the guy working there recognized the box and said they get about 10 of those a day.
