About to start season 1. I have never seen anything dealing with AD except for a 1min clip someone had linked in the SuperBad thread. I hope it lives up to the hype.
10/8/2007 10:08:50 PM
^ Do report back after you've seen a few episodes.
10/8/2007 10:13:49 PM
Just finished the first one and I am aleady hooked bigtime
10/8/2007 10:51:40 PM
good
10/8/2007 10:57:06 PM
this thread makes me sad because it reminds me that I have no more new episodes of Arrested Development to watch. Oh well, at least we have the Office and Chuck now, and some of the sitcoms are sort of good, oh who am I kidding,
10/8/2007 11:23:58 PM
Buster: Hey! I'm finally being treated like a real person. Not some deformed..Gob: Ah! Hook. I forgot about that there, elephant man. We'll have to find something to do so that people can look at you without wanting to kill themselves.
10/8/2007 11:28:20 PM
you should check out It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia if you're lacking good comedy sitcoms to watch.

It seems as though I've prematurely shot my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run and now I'm afraid I have a little bit of a mess on my hands.

Also, one of the funniest parts (of season 1) which had me almost in tears last night was when Gob was the presidentSitting on the pool table, the sign that says something to the effect of "don't let every mistake get you down" or something like thatAfter they are speaking for a second...Gob: "Which I don't let mistakes bother me. Or have you forgotton my mott..."::kicks the sign::Gob: "Damn it!"makes me lol just typing it outand someone needs to re-embed the chicken dance for each character[Edited on December 7, 2007 at 10:46 AM. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the movie. For one thing, they'd have to bring n00bs up to speed on the characters. George Michael and Maebe (sp?) have clearly gotten older, so they'd have to work that in too.
12/14/2007 12:21:12 PM
They've never really bothered with getting anyone up to speed with the series (which IMHO was the show's downfall), I doubt they'll do it for the movie. I'm sure enough people have seen this on DVD by now that they could make a movie "for the fans".[Edited on December 14, 2007 at 12:23 PM. Reason : d]

I don't know about that. Didn't help Serenity.
12/14/2007 2:50:26 PM
^ It got made, didn't it? That's all that matters.
12/14/2007 2:59:54 PM
^^ I thought they did fine, they always did flashbacks. I didn't start watching in real time until the end of the first season and didn't have much trouble catching up.
12/14/2007 3:16:20 PM
So did the series just end after the 13th episode in season 3? I thought I read they knew the third season was gonna be the last, and they would wrap up the series with an actual finale? I hadn't seen and of AD till last month when I downloaded season 1,2 and 3.
12/14/2007 3:18:35 PM
The 13th episode of Season Three is the actual finale, hence the titles of the last two episodes being "Exit Strategy" and "Development Arrested." They just had to wrap the storylines a little quicker than expected. A similar thing happened with Season Two because the episode order was cut (leading to some awkward story jumps and a ton of "cut housing order" jokes).
12/14/2007 4:02:09 PM
I was kinda wondering that, but the 13th episode just had them going to jail, didnt seem like much of a wrap on the series and it even had a preview for the 14th at the end.
12/14/2007 4:08:09 PM
Wait, what? The series ends with George, Michael, and George Michael on the yacht headed for Mexico, and then there's a blurb at the end where Maeby is pitching the show to Ron Howard and he says, "Nah, but maybe a movie..."

i think my favorite moment is when the bluth company employees get rounded up into the back of the truck by the farmer and his dogsi died
2/3/2008 11:44:55 AM
I've been working through the episodes again with my roommate (she'd never seen any of them), and we're on the final seven. It never ceases to amaze me how far they went when they knew cancellation was really imminen...the "Wee Brain" bench, Ann & GOB, "God knows they're squinters," Scott Baio skewing younger, and that's all before Judge Reinhold and Bud Cort.

So many classic moments from this show^Wish they would have included when Gob ran in and everyone else has left.........."COME ON!"
2/27/2008 8:39:02 AM
^^It annoys me they only have the first 5 episodes from seasons 2 and 3, and apparently never rotate in other episodes.
2/27/2008 8:42:55 AM
I bought the entire series on Amazon a while ago for like $30, so every few months I watch every single episode
2/27/2008 9:44:34 AM
^^ i keep hoping that they'll add in the rest, since it's still only in beta.
2/27/2008 12:02:55 PM
I think one of my favorite episodes has to be The Ocean Walker, where Michael & Rita are getting married. The wedding gets called off and all, and GOB watches as Rita walks across the water.Michael: "G.O.B. is that one of your tricks?"G.O.B. : "No Michael, it's not my trick."on the next Arrested Development...G.O.B. : "It's my ILLUSION!"explosions, Tobias catches on fire, can't go underwater, etc.

RITA CORNY, MICHAEL

Witherspoon needs to show AD on the big screen.
2/27/2008 6:05:25 PM
eh, they'd have to show them in orderand even as a weekly screening series, they'd have to do four per night to fill up a regular movie-sized slotand that's only thirteen weeks, unless you wanted to have the fourteenth week be the finale onlyi guess it could work as a semester-long thingbut meh, the people who would really go have already seen all 53 in order at least three timesand if you missed more than two weeks you'd be lost after week five
2/27/2008 6:08:37 PM
STEVE HOLT!!
2/27/2008 6:10:07 PM
Meh, I dunno. Arrested Development is a pretty prevalent show on college campuses across the nation, I'm sure we could drum up support for a showing here. Though it doesn't make much logistic sense...Ah, well, I guess I'll wait to see AD on the big screen after the official movie comes out. I swear if Bateman is just shooting his mouth off and there's no truth to it, I'll kill him.
