6/26/2007 3:19:03 AM
It is truly a sad day for TWW when even a wrestling show exhibits more class in the face of tragedy.
6/26/2007 6:08:28 AM
not too much more updated except they found Nancy dead in the living room, Daniel in his bedroom, and Chris in his weightroom. Speculation that he may have killed them on sunday and waited until Monday before killing himself. I really don't want to find out that he did it. He always seemed like he had his head on his shoulders.
6/26/2007 7:32:14 AM
yeah this is very strangesomething must have snappedbut killing your son? I just dont know
6/26/2007 7:47:05 AM
it's been pointed out a few times online, but Benoit and Nancy had had a volatile relationship for years... I honestly didn't know they were still together, because i'd read about them possibly divorcing years ago around the time i stopped watching...
6/26/2007 7:53:03 AM
6/26/2007 8:03:06 AM
The reports that he killed his family on sunday and himself yesterday lead me to think that he probably did have a steriod driven snap in judgement or some other volatile change in his chemistry. And once he snapped out of it he realized what he had done and figured the easiest way was to off himself. Reading that "all instruments used were found on scene" the first thing that pops in my head is a jump rope strangulation.
6/26/2007 8:08:26 AM
He sent "curious text messages" to Chavo and others? What the hell does that mean?
6/26/2007 9:47:07 AM

All of this has been so surreal. All of these details coming out, and it's just really hard to fathom. My condolences go out to the Benoit family. R.I.P. Chris Benoit, Nancy Benoit (a.k.a. Woman), and their son Daniel.
6/26/2007 10:05:27 AM
6/26/2007 10:09:10 AM
my condolences go to his wife and kid but not him[Edited on June 26, 2007 at 10:09 AM. Reason : ^pretty much]
6/26/2007 10:09:18 AM
^ yeahWTF hadta be going on in his life to drive him to that? man, that's terrible
6/26/2007 10:18:24 AM
probably cocaine and steroids, like all the other wrestlersyou know they just recruit half of these guys by going to (male) strip clubs in atlanta and finding the roidinest ones
6/26/2007 10:20:08 AM
make this an indictment of Benoit, surebut please don't make this an indictment of the wrestling industry as a wholeit has no less problems than any other business as far as substance abuse goes.
6/26/2007 10:32:39 AM
My only problem with it is - If there was a rumor floating around (and I mean, ANY remote chance it was true) of a murder/suicide before they aired a memorial last night and they still ran 3 hours of footage of him and people talking about how great of a person he was... WWE deserves to be blasted by the media/public for a long time.
6/26/2007 10:44:18 AM
His two kids from a previous marriage are glad Mommy left now.
6/26/2007 10:49:24 AM
i dont watch too much csi or anything but toxicology reports are standard with autopsies, but the fact they throw that in the article makes it seem like chemicals/poison played a roll.[Edited on June 26, 2007 at 10:57 AM. Reason : is the WWE site down for anyone else too?]
6/26/2007 10:57:12 AM
6/26/2007 11:06:48 AM
the police report about the murder wasn't available until 10:00
6/26/2007 11:15:07 AM
^^ i doubt they have a greater number of people with "substance abuse problems" than people in other professions...but those with problems, when coupled with the day-in-day-out strain that their bodies are under, plus the emotional stress of being on the road 250+ days of the year a substance abuse problem can probably become substantially worse for a pro wrestler than they would for others...if it's a roid rage situation though, i wonder how long before the WWE's being investigated for steroid troubles again... HHH might have to go into hiding...
6/26/2007 11:48:35 AM
^yeah ok i hear ya
6/26/2007 11:49:19 AM
6/26/2007 12:12:34 PM
that doesn't sound like roid rage anymore... that sounds more like premeditation... at least as far as the kid is concerned...ugh
6/26/2007 12:30:38 PM
6/26/2007 12:42:58 PM
so does anyone else think the wwe did everything they could to not let the suicide leak out so they could make the 3 hour showi mean if everyone woulda known that it was a double murder suicide i cant see them making a 3 hour show like thati know i wouldnt
