anyone else going thursday in charlotte?
9/24/2007 1:51:58 PM
bump for CD Release shows.also colors has become my new 'default cd' Ever since i got my ipod 2 years ago I just use my FM trans. i never use CDs or listen to the radio - unless its a short trip in which its too much of a hassle to take my ipod out of the case set it up, then take it back down when i park. so i always keep one CD in there to save me from the radio during those short trips. it was either 'siamese dream' or the btbam s/t for the past 2 years heh.
9/25/2007 12:43:29 PM
got my tickets for the gboro show a few days ago, so i doubt its sold out, can't wait to rock my face of f tomorrow with both BTBAM and HORSE the band.
9/25/2007 6:59:21 PM
yeah, just bought me ticket. got a class till 7 though, so i'll probably only make it to see BTBAM and HORSE, but thats who i really want to see anyways. Here's hoping they buck the trend and have some 2XL "HORSE the Band, Bitches" shirts
9/25/2007 7:48:40 PM
debuted at #57 on the Billboard 200. thats pretty sweet for a band like them. think the highest ive seen for a metal/hardcoreesque band in the past few years has been #35 debut for as i lay dying, and as i lay dying is a lot more straightforward music.[Edited on September 26, 2007 at 4:51 PM. 9/27/2007 10:20:32 AM

9/27/2007 10:30:18 AM
sweet.im expecting a good show as always tonight , just wanted some more info. i heard they played the entire album from start to finish?
9/27/2007 10:36:18 AM
Yep, the entire album start to finish, then they came out and encored with selkis, but i was expecting atleast 1 more song in the encore . Anyone else go to the after party on the roof of greene st?[Edited on September 27, 2007 at 11:15 AM. Reason : spleling]
9/27/2007 11:14:47 AM
id rather hear a song of S/T for an encore. i hope they play the full album tonight tho.
9/27/2007 11:20:10 AM
Yea I know what you mean, at the april fools show they ended with shevanel cut a flip, shit was nuts.
9/27/2007 11:42:41 AM
yea cant believe i missed that[Edited on September 27, 2007 at 11:59 AM. Reason : ]

WOW. Considering the amount of times I have seen these guys (i stopped counting at 15), youd think all their 'best' shows in my memory would be older ones. Well, they just topped anything theyve done live tonight. Best set list ive seen them play? probably the alaska cd release with i think 3 off of s/t and a mix of silent circus and alaska.Craziest crowd? Silent Circus or S/T CD release shows.but overall atmosphere? colors cd release show. It was a totally different experience to hear someone play an entire album from start to finish that flawlessly. Also weird to always know what song is up next. Anticipation for certain drum and guitar parts was crazy. All I have to say is mad props to Blake for not falling over dead.
9/28/2007 1:08:04 AM
was that at tremont last night? i saw they were gonna be here, but i can't get anyone around here to go to shows like that with me
9/28/2007 9:40:30 AM
yea it was, sorry i didnt think to let you know i was going
9/28/2007 11:30:10 AM
yeah, i thought blakes arms would fall off after a solid hour of playing. can't believe he did it two nights in a row
9/28/2007 12:55:57 PM
What did they encore with at tremont?
9/28/2007 3:15:28 PM
^5 So they didn't just play the album straight through at previous release shows?I agree, though - tremendous live show. Definitely deepened my appreciation of the album.
9/28/2007 10:22:51 PM
btw, i hate you guys who got to go to the shows this week.
9/29/2007 1:24:55 AM
im trying to remember, i dont think they did at their s/t show..but that was like 2002 and i never really downloaded any music then, and since it was their first album I didnt know the songs real well seeing as it was their cd release show. They definitely didnt for silent circus and alaska, it was a normal show with a mix of songs from multiple albums.
9/29/2007 11:35:49 AM
oh yeah i forgot i downloaded this
9/29/2007 1:57:27 PM

10/29/2007 12:02:57 PM

It wasnt even working during soundcheck and they claimed he broke it during their set[Edited on October 29, 2007 at 12:40 PM. Reason : ]

I just got into BTBAM a couple of months ago after reading this thread (Thanks T dub). I absolutely love Colors and I just bought the Silent Circus Reissue with the DVD.I know they are from the area and noticed one member was wearing a State athletics shirt on the dvd. How many of them actually went to State?
11/21/2007 10:54:44 AM
1. The dummer Blake was at State until he joined the band his Senior year 3(?) years ago. Hes in a decent position too, one semester from a degree if he ever needs a real job. He played in the band Glass Casket while in school until that point. (2 GC members went to State)As for the rest of the band, both current lineup and original, they are from a combination of the charlotte and triangle areas for the most part.definitely check out alaska, and their self titled reissue as well.[Edited on November 21, 2007 at 11:01 AM.
