If this is the hottest afternoon for the year I'm a monkey's uncle.

unfortunately I don't have that luxury. My house's AC is an undersized unit. Its going to be well over 80° inside my house during the worst of this heat wave. I will be someplace else as much as I can!

I'm kind of hoping my a/c explodes during this heat wave so the home warranty will pay for a new unit

run water over the coil on the condenser outside, it will help pull a little more heat out of the house

bro that's three days in a row that are predicted to meet or surpass the record high in raleigh during the month of june from 1981-2010, according to wikipedia. record high for july is still only 104 if you want to be like "well it's the end of the month".

you're right, summer as usual.

it felt awesome on monday in charlotte, high was like 88 with a great breeze...is that evidence of global cooling?

of course not, cause weather != climate, and using a few days' local temperature to support or oppose a climatology theory makes one look ignorant

record low in june in raleigh, nc is 48. if it had been 47 for three days in a row, then maybe.

dude can you not count?

ten degrees above the record low one day is not the same thing as three days above the record high. i used words instead of numbers for you.

ITT we see evidence of why it's so easy to hook people into the global warming fiasco.

Some of the windows in my house don't have blinds. I think I'm going to cover them with towels and nail them in place to keep the sun out. Ugh.

my house's unit is...13 years old?...and is undersized in the sense that it struggles to keep the house at 82°F during the day when no one is home and the temp outside is in the mid-to-upper 90s (i go home at lunch sometimes, so that's how i know it struggles)...i'm probably going to have to set it to 85°F or something to keep it from running nonstop

I'll probably be keeping it around 77 in the house this weekend. Gotta cut my shit head A/C unit some slack so it doesn't blow a fucking capacitor again.

At least you have "mid to upper 90s". Mine was struggling to keep the house below 80 when it was just 88-90 this past Sunday . It's the original unit I think, and the landlord thought that installing a zoning damper with an additional thermostat upstairs would help. Apparently his HVAC knowledge is...quite limited. But 2 1/2 weeks and I'll be in my new, and own, place! Good luck to you in beating the heat!

Beijing already reaches 100 degrees in early June.
I remember early days, when college entrance test like SAT was held in July. It's called Black July. Think about millions of students taking test together on the same hot day.
