so..... how is Billup's possible departure gonna shake up the draft, if at all?
6/26/2007 12:24:26 PM
it wontwell, it will just cause some teams not to pick Conley (Grizz, Bucks)the Hawks arent a player for Billups
6/26/2007 12:36:56 PM
Billups will be re-signed by Detroit don't worry. He had to opt out in order to get a bigger deal. Detroit can't afford to let him walk for nothing and with Conley, Law, and Crittendon in the draft and Calderon available through trade there isnt enough demand for a PG to push Billups out of Detroits price range.I really hope we don't trade out of this pick. I just think Brewer is an EXCELLENT pick for us. It looks like Sean Williams might even fall to us at #22 which we'd be insane to pass on.Imagine the following starting lineup:FeltonCarrollWallaceOkafor BrezecAnd off the bench we have plenty of offensive options in Hermann, May, MorrisonAnd defensive options with Brewer, Williams, HollinsWe've got a solid backup PG if we keep Brevin....Brewer is an EXCELLENT fit for the Bobcats. Our best lineup would beFeltonBrewerHermannWallaceOkaforWe'd have two legit shot blockers, a lockdown perimeter defender, and two decent defenders on the court while on offense having a distributor, a shooter (hermann), 2 slashers, and a post scorer. That lineup could compete for an Eastern Conference Championship in ~3 years.[Edited on June 26, 2007 at 6:59 PM. if brewer falls to 8, we'd be stupid not to take him. but if he doesnt, i'd be interested to see what kind of deals they could work out. there's some players i wouldnt mind havin, but the draft is so deep that we could get talent later and maybe make out like bandits with a trade.
6/26/2007 11:40:10 PM
1-Portland-Oden2-Seattle-Durant3-Atlanta-Horford4-5-6-7-8-
6/26/2007 11:57:51 PM
^ Conley is probably 4, then who knows with Boston (Yi?)... Green goes #6, then either Hawes or Noah at 7.... then we can have Brewer at 8....
6/27/2007 6:41:32 AM
I just dont know if Atlanta not going with the best PG in this draft is a good ideaI mean, it is for the Bobcats, because they cant play all those forwards at the same time anyway
6/27/2007 7:38:18 AM
6/27/2007 8:24:45 AM
as a bobcats fan Id rather that happen
6/27/2007 8:45:42 AM
Yi apparently wants to play no farther east than Chicago so I don't know if he'd play for Boston
6/27/2007 10:23:42 AM
Yeah wtf is up with thatYao was the same way, picky as shit when he came overLike people in Boston and Charlotte hate Chinese people or somethingWe wouldn't care if he was a fucking eskimo if he had a wicked jumpshot
6/27/2007 10:30:46 AM
i hate people that say where they will and will not play when they are being draftedi mean come on
6/27/2007 10:32:36 AM
Its probably not even Yi thats saying itIts his "people" trying to find the "best fit" for himYi apparently is Americanized as fuck, I remember reading about him wearing Sean John and listening to rap
6/27/2007 10:34:24 AM
once Yi gets into the league he will become the 2nd leading vote getter in every all star game
6/27/2007 10:36:17 AM
^DraftExpress.com has Yi going to the Kings at 10 now. I wouldn't mind that.
6/27/2007 10:37:32 AM
6/27/2007 10:38:45 AM
well Communist China gets to decide where he plays, not really much you can do about that
6/27/2007 10:39:32 AM
The ideal situation for me would be if Yi is really successful and Yao gets jealous that he is not the poster boy for Chinese basketball anymore. Then it all comes to a front when Yi drives to the basket in a game against Houston and Yao karate chops him across the throat and screams. [Edited on June 27, 2007 at 10:45 AM. Reason : shit chinese characters don't show up]
6/27/2007 10:43:27 AM
it would be better if he ripped his heart out of his chest

Roy got Oden too]
6/27/2007 11:43:01 PM
nice ^^^
6/28/2007 12:48:58 AM
Just for fucks sake:Where do you think Adam Morrison would go in this draft had he stayed his senior year at GonzagaSay he has similar stats to his junior campaign, maybe slightly betterI think no way he goes top 10, and maybe not even in the lotteryIt's the the opposite of Noah: He would have gone top 3 last year, now he's in the 8-10 rangeIf we had taken Roy I wouldn't be so bitter, but Roy probably wouldn't go top 10 in this draft either[Edited on June 28, 2007 at 8:04 AM. 6/28/2007 8:03:58 AM
yeah I agree with thatAmmo made the right move coming out in a weak draftwe can just forget all about last years draft and that would be real nice
6/28/2007 8:14:17 AM
6/28/2007 9:02:37 AM
I think Bill Simmons has been quoted more on this site than every other writer combined
6/28/2007 9:11:12 AM
sounds like Atlanta is getting Horford (I think they should get Conley) instead of the chinese dude.on the radio an "expert" said that Seattle was going to trade Ray Allen to Boston for someone and a draft pick, the 5th pick, and get Conley. Durant and Conley in one draft = nasty
6/28/2007 9:19:33 AM
man there should be more activity than this in here today
6/28/2007 11:01:22 AM
Yeah, I think the other thread talking about the NBA draft being the best is stealing this thread's thunder a little bit.[Edited on June 28, 2007 at 11:22 AM. Reason : aaggg]
6/28/2007 11:14:35 AM
nah, its not really covering the same topicthis is more speculation, thats just debate about pro draftsanyway, when I leave work today and go home to watch the draft I probably wont be posting on here but a few times during it, Ill save some final thoughts for afterwordsbut who knows, i might sit there with the laptop and watch the tv and talk shit about how dumb the Hawks and MJ are.
6/28/2007 11:20:23 AM
I'll probably try and write my own live diary, and put it on my sports blog. I'm going to try, no guarantees.
6/28/2007 11:24:07 AM
you have a sports blog, where could i start one at?
6/28/2007 11:25:05 AM
6/28/2007 11:27:23 AM
its live because you are writing your thoughts down as they happen as every pick and rumor goes bysome people are funny (Bill Simmons)and some just like to go back after a while and read it, its funny to see how things developed and draft day trades that you would have once forgottenlike ray allen and Starbury swap
6/28/2007 11:30:57 AM
hey gunzz why dont you delete someone else's posts
6/28/2007 11:32:15 AM
1-Oden2-Durant3-Horford4-5-6-7-8-- If we draft Yi, that means we're getting Monta- If we draft Wright, hopefully we'll trade Fat Dump- If we draft Brewer, I'll do a Jager bomb- If we draft Thornton, I'll do a Jager bomb- If we draft Green, I'll be pretty happy- If we draft Noah, I'll probably set a building on fire
6/28/2007 11:57:15 AM
hey Saddamizer, why dont i just suspend you so i dont have to remove the shit i dont want to see?
6/28/2007 11:58:43 AM
Brewer would be awsome he he fell that far. Pretty much anyone but Wright and Noah and I will be content. Brewer though and i'll be thrilled.I read article in the paper today about all the guys going to ground zero. Oden was like "I was in 8th grade when it happened". Damn[Edited on June 28, 2007 at 12:03 PM. Reason : fgs]

I'm sure you showed up ready to beat ass though, right?Taking what someone said on a message board so seriously that you not only challenge them to a real life fight but actually go there and wait for them?If you want it to happen for real this time, just name the time and place.
6/28/2007 12:12:25 PM
i heard on the way in this morning that portland is now really (really) leaning toward odenand i've come around on brewerand all i know is that if we take another tarheel by picking Wright, I will turn in my fancard for this organization, effective immediately
6/28/2007 12:15:18 PM
if we take wright we really better unload Sean Maybe

6/28/2007 12:16:58 PM
It's pretty much a guarantee that Portland takes Oden. and we all know where the 2nd pick is going.I hope Charlotte doesn't trade their pick. Unless it means we can get Monta and avoid getting Noah.[Edited on June 28, 2007 at 12:19 PM. Reason : gunzz please stfu, whatever you deleted can't be any worse than this bullshit]
