i wish it was hitting nc instead of mexico

You know it is pretty damn bad when most people here in NC want a hurricane to hit here just so we can get some damn rain.
8/21/2007 10:05:49 AM
i'm in mexico city right now and will be here when the hurricane gets here - people here aren't worried though because of the elevation of the city - the mexicans i'm working with laughed when i told them i was a bit worried it was coming right at us - they say the winds might be 35mph by the time it gets here with some light showers
8/21/2007 10:46:28 AM
^lots of rain. mudslides
8/21/2007 11:01:56 AM
It's hitting the same place I was earlier in the summer. I was in Belize and the eastern Yucatan and Cozumel.
8/21/2007 12:37:56 PM
Is there any chance of the storm (what remains of it) to emerge in the pacific like that storm did a few years back?
8/23/2007 12:46:06 AM
Felix the Catmaybe will get in the Gulf....NHC will update their track, they are the outlier now...[Edited on September 1, 2007 at 7:33 AM. Reason : w]
9/1/2007 7:31:02 AM
i hope the nogaps is right so we get some rain. just hope it stays very weak.
9/1/2007 3:13:45 PM

9/2/2007 7:26:20 PM
Looks like mexico is gonna get F'ed in the A once again
9/2/2007 7:47:24 PM
OMGWTFBBQ! 165 MPHZ!!one!eleven!!!!LOLOLOL![Edited on September 2, 2007 at 8:27 PM. Reason : Some pretty rapid intensfication today. That's some Wilma shit.]
9/2/2007 8:26:02 PM
hurricane hunters supposedly found 200mph 300 ft from the surface, they had to abort....and will not be back until 2am, he will probably weaken(if you want to call it that) a bit by then, or level off or go down some(they dont maintain it that long) so we might never know how strong he truely was at his peak.
9/2/2007 8:32:11 PM
small and compact but an amazing lookin storm right now, sucks that its headed right for the dean ravaged areas again though
9/2/2007 8:34:56 PM
storms of that strength will pulse and go through eye-wall replacement cycles. Lets hope its not a Mitch repeat. What is that thing spinning of the se coast??
9/3/2007 12:27:30 AM
yeah, Felix was at its best last night, i think it is on a downward trend(slowly), it peaked out last night.
9/3/2007 10:59:05 AM
It is nuts to think that a SECOND storm hit Cat 5.
9/3/2007 12:20:12 PM
Make that two landfallling Cat 5's this season
9/4/2007 9:43:48 AM
My cousin is in Honduras with the army right now. No one has heard from him in a week or two, so I hope he's gonna be okay.
9/4/2007 10:42:56 AM
hmmmmbeing sheared pretty bad right now
9/4/2007 5:29:40 PM
Interesting at least, any development is sure to be slow right now though
9/4/2007 6:42:00 PM
9/4/2007 10:53:21 PM
ah shit...that one could cause the east coast some trouble
9/4/2007 10:54:50 PM
we need it whether its powerful or notthe rainnnnnnnnnnn
9/4/2007 10:56:58 PM

Crazy, figured that was a picture from Fran at first.
9/5/2007 3:44:45 PM
Yeah GFDL run has it as a cat 3 hurricane coming onshore, I suppose that bears watching at least lol
9/5/2007 4:14:20 PM
All I knows is that North Carolina is sure going to get some surf out of this storm.[Edited on September 5, 2007 at 4:24 PM. Reason : We need the rain so hit but stay 2 or below please]
9/5/2007 4:22:56 PM
we could handle a 3 how long b4 it intensifies?
9/5/2007 6:20:01 PM
GFDL at 6Z
9/6/2007 8:02:39 AM
This thing barely looks like anything right now. If its gonna come in I hope it hurries up though. I am pulling the camper to Rodanthe on Wednesday.
9/6/2007 8:26:49 AM
This thing has a lot of work to do to get going...
9/6/2007 8:45:44 AM
Yeah, it's struggling. http://moe.met.fsu.edu/cgi-bin/cmctc2.cgi?time=2007090600&field=850-200mb+Zonal+Shear&hour=AnimationThat link takes you to an animation of zonal shear from 850-200 mb. In fact, the moe.met.fsu.edu/tcgengifs is where I'm getting my info, as well as others I can't let out. It's fairly nifty, though.
9/6/2007 9:06:20 AM
high pressure is supposed to move in within 24 hours and stop the shear for the most part, and possibly steer it toward us.
9/6/2007 10:12:55 AM
this thing still looks horrible. it'd be interesting to see what it looks like after the shear dissipates.

does anyone know any solid info. on this storm? I'm supposed to fly into Raleigh from the West Coast, arriving this Sat. at 10:00 PM..... I haven't been in Raleigh for a couple years-will they threaten to shut down RDU? Just worried about the NC panic and all.
9/7/2007 11:59:05 AM
you should be fine - i dont think it will be any threat to the area until late sunday/monday
9/7/2007 12:25:03 PM
Yeah, you'll be fine. You may very well end up stuck here if you're leaving sometime monday or tuesday, but you'll still be fine for saturday.
9/7/2007 1:11:02 PM
I'm more excited about this possibly hitting us than I am about snowstorms
9/7/2007 1:42:43 PM
yeh the coast shouldn't even feel the effects til late saturday. So if we see anything...then it will be sunday.
