Apparently he's thought about it... He said Ron would kill him if he knew the things Ginny did in his dreams!
7/12/2007 10:49:54 AM
yo Mike, how was your date son
7/12/2007 3:24:44 PM
This shit I read just blew my dome off, its talking about the foreshadowing of Sirius' death in OoTP
7/12/2007 3:26:42 PM
I think that is just coincidence... I don't think it is intentional...too far fetched
7/12/2007 8:55:19 PM
7/12/2007 8:55:31 PM
the seventh book is going to end in an wild orgy involving harry, hermione, cho, ron, ginny, luna, and neville anyways
7/12/2007 9:15:41 PM
the movie was alright.Needed more Tonks though.
7/12/2007 10:10:12 PM
yeah.. i really liked how they did tonks too

needed more Bellatrix LestrangeTonks was pretty cool too, I'd love to have her powers
7/12/2007 10:30:29 PM
7/13/2007 5:52:15 AM
Tonks looks pretty good
7/13/2007 7:53:21 AM
I think so too. There are too many things in JKR's books that are not coincidences. I always think her books are best read twice, there are SO MANY clues you just don't pick up on.
7/13/2007 9:09:16 AM
7/13/2007 9:31:21 AM
yeah, Helena Bonham Carter really pulled off Bellatrix well. She was awesome. And it will be cool after the 7th book to see if JK Rowling exposes all of the hints and secrets she put into the book that people may not have caught yet.
7/13/2007 9:52:06 AM
It was like they put the book on super fast forward. It really did feel more rushed than the others. I think this one had a few more neat tricks, especially with regards to those zoom-in/twisty newspaper scenes. That was clever. Also, I like that JK is trying to point out how dead Sirius is: in the book, he isn't ever hit with a killing curse, he just falls through the veil. In the movie, they went with the killing curse. "No really, I mean it, he's D-E-A-D!"
7/13/2007 11:34:14 AM
my roomate it absolutely convinced 100% now that it will be harry killing voldemort and not neville, since they left out the part of the prophecy that it could be either harry or neville and focused solely on harry
7/13/2007 11:47:13 AM
Neville was never a valid option for this book.. They made that pretty clear at the end of the fifth book. Neville could have been an option only in the beginning, but since Voldemort chose Harry, it would have to be Harry. Dumbledore also said it was quite obvious it was pertaining to Harry, since he'd already eluded him 4 times at that point, more than the Longbottoms or the Potters were able to.
7/13/2007 11:51:45 AM
^how about some more details on that. I still haven't ruled out the Neville possibility. What exactly did the prophecy say?[Edited on July 13, 2007 at 12:32 PM. Reason : -]
7/13/2007 12:31:58 PM
from the wikipedia on him (sources cited there)
7/13/2007 12:36:51 PM
The one born that will be marked by Voldemort as his equal will be the one with the power to kill himhe marked Harry, it is his task to finish, plus she hasnt spent enough time on Neville to let him be the one who kills Voldemort
7/13/2007 12:52:21 PM
Oh, I guess that's why why I don't remember the prophecy - it isn't recorded, just Dumbledore's interpretation of it.It still doesn't account for the (extremely) unlikely scenario where Voldemort scars/marks Neville and Neville kills him 5 minutes later. But yeah, sounds like the case is closed.
7/13/2007 1:04:23 PM
Dumbledore gave him the exact prophecy not just his interpretation of it
7/13/2007 1:16:22 PM
Most google hits turns the paraphrased version but I found the actual text -
7/13/2007 1:31:07 PM
It's interesting that it never explicitly says the one that "will vanquish" and says "the power to vanquish"I, personally, wouldn't care if LV just killed Harry and the world turned dark. A big screw you to all the fans I guess, though.
7/13/2007 2:44:43 PM
if jk rowling really wanted to fuck over fans she should end it like dallas, it was all a dream... dudley's dream.[Edited on July 13, 2007 at 3:11 PM. Reason : .]
7/13/2007 3:05:01 PM
^better yet, Uncle Vernon's dream... and then the next morning, Harry is found on his doorstep
7/13/2007 3:26:40 PM
that shit would be crazy
7/13/2007 3:28:58 PM
well...there is a reason that books are titled Harry Potter and not Neville Longbottom... Harry will ultimately have a final showdown with Voldemort....I'm sure Neville will help.. He's sucked at magic so far, but getting better and better and BOOM will do something very magical in the 7th book...My guess is that he gets rid of Bellatrix...avenges his parents
7/13/2007 4:07:39 PM
i'm thinkin harry kills voldemort, bellatrix kills harry, neville kills bellatrix.[Edited on July 13, 2007 at 5:28 PM. Reason : .]

7/14/2007 1:32:05 AM
woah i saw it in imax here at charlotte...I might go to a regular movie theater to see it so I don't miss anything. I agree it did feel a little bit rushed he was in school then 20 minutes later it was the end of the year
7/14/2007 11:15:53 AM
This movie had too many plotholes. For example, if no one could see those dead horse things, then how the fuck did all the kids ride them?
7/14/2007 11:24:58 AM
harry and luna helped them get on them
7/14/2007 11:26:29 AM
just because everyone else couldn't see them doesn't mean they don't exist although i wish we would have seen a shot of Ron in horror as he rides "nothing"
7/14/2007 11:47:56 AM
I loved the movie. I dont know why everyone felt it was so rushed. Its one of the first movies in a long time where I didnt think about better ways of doing things in the film. Was engaged with the storyline the entire time. Great film. I am just glad that there are 2 more films that can be this dark and have such quality.
7/14/2007 6:53:28 PM
I re-read GoF before seeing the movie, and I hated the movie as a result. Seeing it later, I really liked it. So I decided to stop re-reading the books until after seeing the movie. That being said - I liked it as a movie, but it made me struggle to remember a lot of stuff so now I'm excited to read it agan. So, I'm kinda still undecided. For those of you who never read the books - were you completely confused?
7/14/2007 8:42:00 PM
^^ it was rushed compared to the book.... they clipped a lot to have it fit. i'm very glad they clipped most of the emo stuff...
7/14/2007 10:15:46 PM
so i don't read HP (i want to start from book 1 and read them all, one day soon), and i haven't seen all the movies... but my friend wanted to see it tonight, b/c she does read all the books and has seen the movies. i thought it was a good movie, rushed a bit. it definitely did not feel like an entire school year. my friend says she thought it was the best of the five movies so far.
7/15/2007 1:16:14 AM
^^^i have never read any of the books and just watch the movies b/c i am not a big reader.I wasn't that confused at all and thought it was a good film. I thought it lacked excitement until the end however. One thing i didnt get that i was hoping someone with HP knowledge could explain to me was the whole deal with the "prophecy ball"........i didnt get any of that and y did the blonde haired dude want it so bad. thanks
7/15/2007 1:22:46 AM
yeah, they didn't explain it very well... but the prophecy ball held a prophecy regarding harry and voldemort's ultimate destiny with each other...Voldy needed it because he knew the first half of it, but not the second half... Snape had overheard half of it during it's original telling to Dumbledore (by Trelawny) and had told Voldy what he'd heard... Thus, Voldemort wanted to know the second half of the prophecy, and set up events in the 5th book for harry to get it for him (only someone a prophecy refers to can take the prophecy from the hall, but voldemort can't exactly just waltz into the ministry of magic, so he needed harry to do it)
7/15/2007 9:19:41 AM
My friends and I wish that the last fight was more true to the book in that Dumbledore is supposed to be clearly better than Voldemort, or at least had an edge on him. But I cant complain to much. They probably didn't want anyone to seem obviously more powerful than Voldemort because that would take away some of the menace that he brings to the table.Anyone else think it was to even?
7/15/2007 10:56:32 AM
I think it matched the book pretty well... Voldemort is a very very powerful wizard and he showed that by blocking or parrying any attack dumbledore threw at him...Even when Dumbledore tried that huge curse, Voldemort blocked it with the shield causing the windows to shatter, etc....Dumbledore was not trying to kill Voldemort... Even in the book Dumbledore says, "Some things are worse than death.., etc..."
