We either trade Babchuk and get some value out of him, or he just bolts to Europe on his own and we get nothing
5/25/2007 5:35:54 PM
nah what i meant was, is he not playing up to par?
5/25/2007 6:01:31 PM
It has nothing to do with his play; he doesn't want to be here.
5/25/2007 6:07:26 PM
ahdidn't realize that
5/25/2007 6:12:38 PM
and the whole 'not reporting to Albany' thing probably didn't help his case much either.Bye babs.I wish we could resign Walker
5/25/2007 6:30:51 PM
It also said in that n&O article that walker would not leave for the same amount of money from another team. It seems that he wants around 3 and we are offering around 2.1 I dont think that he is going to pack up his life at this stage of his career over 200k. So he is definatly not lost.
5/25/2007 10:05:43 PM
there's no way any team will give up a 2nd round pick for babchuk.
5/26/2007 9:06:03 AM
Cam Ward resigned for 3 years2 mil next year2.5 in 08-093.5 in 09-10Time to step it up and earn that new paycheck

5/31/2007 4:32:57 PM
Wesley resigned for 1 year, $1.4 mil
6/1/2007 9:24:01 PM
very nice
6/1/2007 9:58:45 PM
one more year huh.awesome.
6/1/2007 10:12:15 PM
i was hoping he would sign for closer to the vet minimum, but oh well. I'm glad he is back
6/2/2007 11:05:02 AM
Do we really need Wesley though? Shouldn't we play our younger D-men like Babchuk and Hutchinson?
6/2/2007 12:21:14 PM
No, you're right, we don't need veteran leadership.
6/2/2007 1:07:02 PM
....or a guy that leads the team in blocked shots
6/2/2007 2:46:52 PM
any word on hedican? i kinda hope he hits the dusty trail, even though i really like the guy. We could spend that money in a lot of places
6/2/2007 2:58:43 PM
6/2/2007 3:00:25 PM
6/2/2007 6:48:22 PM
i am amazed by the number of people who think old = uselesslike, not even paying attention to the stats or play
6/2/2007 6:51:11 PM
3 important contract extensions have been made:Chuck KaitonJohn ForslundTripp Tracy Oh and alsohttp://www.spawn.com/toys/product.aspx?product=3213
6/6/2007 2:50:04 PM
he looks like hes blowing a load
6/6/2007 3:23:45 PM
Vasciek is GONE... againAnd Tanabe most likely is as well
6/6/2007 5:52:41 PM
Aww, and I was just getting comfortable with Davi (he earned back the first D) playing 15 minutes a game.OH WELL ]
6/6/2007 5:53:45 PM
6/6/2007 6:09:35 PM
anyone think we might see sugar shane on the team this year? Also, I am praying to god that something happens with letowski, maybe we will deal him for a 5th rounder. Can we get Matt Cullen back plz???
6/6/2007 6:19:55 PM
The hurricanes are probably going to go after someone like Michael Peca, Todd White or Ruslan Fedetenko
6/7/2007 4:58:50 PM
I think it's Peca
6/7/2007 5:00:29 PM
I would believe it be Peca too. Where's Roddy's Mcfarlen figure? I mean hoisting the Cup would make a badass figurine.
6/7/2007 5:04:57 PM
I wouldn't mind Peca
6/7/2007 5:10:25 PM
I too was getting used to snuggles playing pretty good hockey 70% of the time. However, i'm fucking thrilled to see Josef "I look like I have downs" Vasicek go. That guy can't cut it when the game involves any sort of speed.
6/7/2007 11:47:45 PM
6/7/2007 11:53:19 PM
ya, rly
6/7/2007 11:57:33 PM
This is incredibly bizarre to me but also incredibly awesome (unless you believe there is a curse with the EA NHL series)
6/11/2007 10:32:36 PM
I'm surprised, considering his dip last season. I think my favorite was toothless Heatley.
6/11/2007 11:04:25 PM
Yeah and that one didn't last long. They replaced him with Sakic after the car accident. This is definitely the strangest choice since Owen Nolan.
6/11/2007 11:05:39 PM
i think i'll still stick with 2Kthe music feature is just too much
6/11/2007 11:07:59 PM
nah, nhl 2007 definently took the candle from 2k7 this year as the best hockey gamebut this is coming from someone who has only played the 360 versions
6/12/2007 2:00:33 AM
^i agree
6/12/2007 2:31:13 AM
Paul Kariya?
6/14/2007 12:29:36 AM
cha cha cha
6/14/2007 9:20:30 AM
Your back to back Selke winner
6/14/2007 10:50:29 PM
^what a beast.
6/15/2007 7:24:45 AM
He had the best acceptance speech of the night, too.He said he wanted the Cup back, he thanked his "teammates who are great players, as Ray Whitney won't ever let me hear the end of it if I don't say that," and he said "while I'm in the back, will someone please explain to my son why I can't buy him an Ovechkin jersey to wear at home games."
6/15/2007 7:29:54 AM
^Brindy is the man!
6/15/2007 8:27:12 AM
lol
6/15/2007 10:34:32 PM
nice job BRINDY!!
6/16/2007 10:05:16 AM
Scott Walker will be back3 years/7.5 mil per TSN.Thats right at the limit of what I wanted to see us pay, but I think he is worth it. One hell of a presence on the ice.http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=211370&hubname=nhlhttp://hurricanes.nhl.com/[Edited on June 20, 2007 at 12:09 PM. Reason : lnx]

After seeing Hartnell get $4 million, this is a deal I'll take any day.
6/20/2007 12:18:23 PM
i'd say this is a bit of a stealgg jim
