6/23/2007 3:10:46 PM
^^^You are as consistent as Phil Mickelson. 67 to an 80?
6/23/2007 3:34:54 PM
well the 80 was on "tough day". It wasnt that tough though...I sucked. But my game is back. 5 birdies and an eagle on friday, and I made 6 putts outside 10 feet today in a scramble and chipped in for eagle on a par 4. I'll probably shoot 80 again on monday though.[Edited on June 23, 2007 at 10:49 PM. Reason : ]
6/23/2007 10:48:47 PM
hit to 183 par 3 within 3 feet. highlight of my round
6/24/2007 12:02:30 AM
have yet to hit an eagle.i was about two inches away today for an eagle on a par 5. twas a chip from the fringe that almost went in
6/24/2007 2:08:49 AM
If I don't stop 3 putting then I might just break the ol' flat stick on a tree. I'm freaking bipolar with the putter right now. One great round, next one is garbage. Another great one, next is garbage. At least I'm consistent with the irons for now. (for now )And when I say one great and one bad...I mean one round with 4 makes outside 10 feet and no 3 jacks, then 4 3 putts in 18 holes and 4 misses inside 6 feet. [Edited on June 25, 2007 at 11:52 PM. Reason : frustrating, but thats golf i guess]
6/25/2007 11:50:26 PM
gotta work on the short game. i had plenty of birdy ops and a few eagle ones. i just couldnt connect with my irons on a lot of the holes.
6/26/2007 12:23:17 AM
This is my kind of golf.http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,286780,00.html

7/10/2007 4:38:15 AM

7/22/2007 10:07:30 PM
shot a 39 on the front 9 at the Challenge, a new record for me
7/22/2007 10:18:40 PM

7/22/2007 10:34:28 PM
Shot 74 at Possum Trot GC in North Myrtle Beach. Personal best for me...but I bogeyed 3 of the last 5 coming in - why am I such a fucktard?
7/25/2007 12:46:43 PM
Possum Trot
7/26/2007 11:25:08 AM
shot 80 at wildwood on Tuesday. 42, 38. And I was even on the back thru 6, then I doubled 16 royally fucked 17 for a bogey, then sergio'd a 10ft for bird on 18.
7/26/2007 1:14:05 PM
what kind of balls do most of you guys play with regularly? I usually play with DT so/los but i bought a sleeve of those new Bridgestone E6's to try out this weekend.
7/26/2007 1:42:10 PM
I play used balls mostly as I still lose some although I am getting to the point where it is only about 2 a round so I am thinking about picking a regular ball. Of the ones I have used, I like the noodles for price/performance balance. They have a pretty good feel, but the cover won't rip apart like a V1 and they aren't too bad.
7/26/2007 2:15:24 PM
I usually play with whatever, but I played with the pro V1 yesterday and i had the best round of my life by far, like 6 strokes better on 9 holes for a 38. They do make a bigger difference than i thought.
7/26/2007 2:27:04 PM
I got a dozen of some Srixon (i forget the model), but damn they jumped off of the driver and had remarkably good feel for a $20 dozen.
7/26/2007 2:42:24 PM
yeah pro v1s really do make a great difference, but i wouldn't buy them ever until i had the game to not lose several per round.i've started a collection of balls cause usually when i play i walk and i take my time looking on the sides of holes and i tend to find a dozen balls or more a round. and usually i find 1-3 perfect conditioned pro v1s. so i have about 10 of those i've polished up and will probably use once i get a little better.
7/26/2007 2:46:03 PM
I used to use Callaway Warbirds to help with my drive, they would always keep it long and straight, now that I can keep it straight myself I either use Nike or Titilestjust depends on the hole, if its a shorter i use Nike, if longer Titilest
7/26/2007 3:31:57 PM
ive been using the new Top flight D2 balls, a total world of difference from normal top flight balls, i really like the feel

About the golf ball issue...I use Prov1 and Prov1x's and they really made a huge difference, especially around the greens. I buy them used off eBay about 36 at a time and that'll get me through the year. You can get 36 or so for around $40-50. The Prov1's are better for spin and control around the greens whereas the Prov1x's will give you a little more distance off the tee. They're both great though.
7/30/2007 9:17:56 AM
i picked up a couple used V1s on the course and I had a problem with them getting scuffed real easily. The soft covers just get cut up just about every time I full swing a wedge. Has that happened to you? Is it something I am doing? It doesn't seem like too much of a problem with other balls.
7/30/2007 9:32:03 AM
^hmm, i dont know about your wedge issues -it may be a contact problem.but yes the ProV1's and B330's and other top of the line balls will scuff easier than your distance-midrange balls. They usually won't last more than a full round because of the much softer shell...which is great for green play/ control and why they are used by so many professionals.
7/30/2007 10:10:58 AM
I seem to be making good contact. The ball goes where I want with good stopping power, but the ball just gets eaten up. At 3-4 bucks a ball, I can't afford to have balls I'm not putting in the woods be unplayable after a round.
7/30/2007 10:13:26 AM
then my suggestion would be to play a different ball.
7/30/2007 1:50:24 PM
I am trying pretty hard to get into golf, it's just such a difficult game to pick up for the first time when you're 23-24. I've had a few lessons, and usually know what i'm doing wrong when I take a 3" divot, or when I roll the ball because I topped the sh*t out of it...but damn it's hardespecially when you finally hit the perfect shot, and you have no idea why it felt so good.
7/30/2007 2:10:34 PM
the more you play, the more you practice at the range, when you make the perfect swing, you just feel everything right, and you know its a perfect shot even before you see where the ball is going, its seriously a game of patience and takes a lot of time to get better, we all start off like that, and then the addiction takes over haha
7/30/2007 2:24:21 PM
I have the same issue with a lot of balls...I am a snob and only use a sleeve for one round. I only go to the used balls if I lose 3 in a round, which I did on Saturday at The Crossings...2 on one hole trying to cut the corner on the Par 5 11th I think.
7/30/2007 2:40:51 PM
^atleast you admit it.
7/30/2007 6:44:29 PM
playin after work today if all goes accordingly.

Shot an 80 last weekend at Eagle Ridge. My best score ever by 8 strokes. I had two horrible rounds the last two times I played Eagle Ridge, I didn't break 100 either round, so this was a nice pick-me-up.
8/1/2007 10:32:08 AM
Carolina Custom Golf had a tent sale last weekend...I picked up a couple of things cheap:Callaway Heavenwood #2 Hybrid $75...I finally broke down and bought a hybrid and loved it. I was suprised. I actually might get a #3 if I can find it cheap enough.3 shirts for $50...couple of long sleeve polos that will come in handy for some cold weather golf.and a dozen NXT tour balls for $18.88
8/1/2007 11:32:13 AM
I just started playing ProV1's, it makes a huge difference. I got 5 dozen off ebay for $120. They're "refurbished" meaning they strip the paint, sort out the scuffed/marked ones, then repaint and restamp. They play like new. I'd recommend them to anyone for $2/ball instead of $4+/ball new.
8/1/2007 11:46:19 AM
i played last week with a buddy of mine who was struggling off the tee and he hit one about 20 yards and into the woods on the right. Didn't even clear the red tees. So I go to help him look for it and he says "hey maybe we can find some nice balls" and I responded "dude you're 20 yards off the tee, if you find anything it'll be a prostaff or top rock" needless to say i went digging and found atleast 6 titleist (types varied, dt so/lo to prov1). moral of the story...i love it when 30+ handicappers play top of the line balls
8/1/2007 12:00:06 PM
^I bet all those are the people who claim their handicap is 12 or so after they hit 3 balls off each tee.I played with a guy last week for business and he must have lost 15 balls if not more and then he claimed he shot a 92. Wow...I hate that crap.
