nor should it be blindly refuted without actual conclusive evidence contrary to the point.

That study's flawed as hell.It uses the House of Representatives to define politically neutral. Any coverage less conservative than the 2004 House of Representatives is considered "liberal." I think we can all agree that the 2004 HoR was definitely not politically centrist.
1/20/2007 1:59:36 PM
they actually adressed that by saying that both sides were given equal speaking time under house rules.
1/20/2007 2:55:42 PM
kind of like how the study that "proved" that the fox news audience was less informed of course, if they'd chosen different questions, its likely NPR's audience would have appeared just as misinformed.studies to prove political points are stupid and worthless.
1/20/2007 2:58:14 PM
they did prove that they were less informed on the specific issues talked about. and they did prove that the more someone watched fox news the less likely they were to be correct on those specific issues. its not like they picked unimportant topics. Whether or not we found evidence linking Sadaam to 9-11 is a pretty big deal.Second, its not "likely" at all. Its possible, and testable. But that is about it.
1/20/2007 3:02:26 PM
at least that study showed that npr wasnt biased, so you all can quit fucking whining about that
1/20/2007 3:12:25 PM
Make of this what you will: Apparently, NBC News will not release its list of contributors. In contrast, Fox News lists all contributors on its Web site. Does it matter?
2/9/2007 6:35:39 PM
did fox news list the contributor who came up with the madrassa claim?
2/9/2007 6:37:09 PM
^ I'm not sure. And there are differences among researchers, stringers, contributers, and so on--but sometimes the distinctions may be fine ones, I grant you.[Edited on February 9, 2007 at 6:43 PM. Reason : PS: I know they claimed that the story came from the Hillary camp, but who knows.]
2/9/2007 6:42:55 PM
Who contributed the story about Kerry's African mistress?I'm still waiting for the public apology/firing for that one.
2/9/2007 6:50:22 PM
^^And who is their contributor to claim it came from hillary's camp?
2/9/2007 6:51:18 PM
Also, who contributed the story saying that Pelosi directly requested the bigger jet?
2/9/2007 6:53:32 PM
^ I don't know if they ever said that. From what I understand, it was Murtha's request/inquiry.
2/9/2007 6:59:16 PM
Dude, I read a Fox News report directly stating that Pelosi requested the jet. When in fact she had absolutely nothing to do with it. When's Brit Hume going to be given the ax?
2/9/2007 7:02:01 PM

there is a funny video with mchenry trying to make a big deal of this. he is becoming a joke very quickly.

My question was the result of the William Arkin controversy:http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,251091,00.htmlhttp://www.foxnews.com/video2/player06.html?020707/020707_oreilly_miller&OReilly_Factor&Miller%2520Time%2521&Miller%2520Time%2521&O%2527Reilly%2520Factor&-1&Shows&418&&&exp[Edited on February 9, 2007 at 10:22 PM. Reason : ^^ PS: NPR didn't straighten out anything. Did Pelosi ask for the plane or not?]
2/9/2007 10:19:06 PM
it was something offered by the military originally to hastert after 9/11, because he was third in line if something happened (i think that decision was perfectly reasonable). they just kept the same procedures in place for her, which is, "if she wants transport on a military plane she is given room for herself and a limited number of staff so long as space is available and a plane is going that way.
2/9/2007 10:30:16 PM
2/9/2007 10:52:38 PM
^^ No, it's more complicated than that. Somebody requested a significantly larger plane. Who made the request? The artful dodging--if such is the case--seems to have replaced the story of the larger plane. FYI: I don't object to Pelosi having a large plane; the cost would be infinitesimal relative to the overall US budget. And Pelosi is third in the line of succession to the presidency; she deserves military protection and transport. Hell, if something ever happened to her, some people would be screaming about more security not having been provided.^ PS: "If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain" (Sir Winston Churchill). Sounds like somebody's on the road to sociopolitical conversion! [Edited on February 9, 2007 at 10:57 PM. Reason : ^] [Edited on February 9, 2007 at 11:06 PM. 2/9/2007 10:56:55 PM
The House Sergeant at Arms requested it. He believed the larger jet was appropriate for security reasons (no refueling needed for the trip from DC to CA)http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/02/09/pelosi.plane/index.html

^^ You really should not have gone there. First, I copied and pasted the quotation at issue as I found it, which is what one is supposed to do. Second, the punctuation in question is correct; the construction is what is known as a "balanced sentence." (I would not expect you to know of it.) Witness the following example: "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country" (John F. Kennedy). The comma acts as a fulcrum giving equal weight to each element of the sentence. Third, one should never hyphenate ly adverbs before ed adjectives as you did ("highly-educated" [sic]).They call me the bus driver, because I WILL take you to school. BTW, pwnt.PS: If I were writing such a sentence, I would use commas to indicate the if statements and I would use a semicolon. So, your instincts are good.[Edited on February 9, 2007 at 11:28 PM. 2/9/2007 11:38:08 PM
It's going fairly well, actually. Thanks. But then again I'm still young, and have limitless possibilities if I were to decide to change career paths.Must suck to know that all the money you're spending on going back to school is a waste, since you're basically done for by now.

Haha, i've never seen someone get so offended about their own age. It's mind-boggling. I hope I don't get like that
