ben is fine at center. 8 guys is more than enough to do good in college. several teams have made the final four with 7 guys and youth is everywhere this season.

(its actually better to have 5 solid starters and everybody know there role than to face the problem of working in 9 or 10 guys.)

Someone needs to teach gavin grant how to run and dribble at the same time. That hop skip dribble move makes you extremely slow and predictable. Atleast he dosent do it as bad as Marcus Melvin used to. Ferguson also looks like he is scared to dribble the ball for some reason. I also dont see what only playing 7 guys is an excuse (unless we have foul trouble which we didnt). Dukes players used never leave the court (back when Jason Williams and Dunleavy and those guys played). I dont know if it is a lack of conditioning or if it was the early game time but our guys looked like they didnt want to win except for big Mc in the inside.

This is a joke.

30+ turnovers my god.

Atsur needs to get healthy now because its clear that Gavin cant handle the PG task for more than a few minutes at a time. I understand the problem. Its very difficult to be the PG when you are surrounded by ZERO shooters and you arent a shooter yourself. Its just asking too much to make him drive the lane and split defenders with bounce passes on every play.

I don't understand why we CAN'T shoot. I dont know why Nieman cant knock down a fucking jumper. He's white for gods sake. What did he do in his suburban driveway the first 18 years of his life??? His shots are barely grazing the rim. I dont know why Fells cant shoot straight. He's so tall/lengthy. He has big triceps... what is the fucking problem? Shoot the ball or drive to the basket and create something.

Gavin is a great basketball player but he's being asked to score or assist nearly every possesion and its just too much for him. Imagine being asked NOT to score for two striaght years (thanks Herb!) and now you're being asked to score/assist 80% of our points.

I am VERY impressed with how hard we are playing. In that Alabama game we were outmatched talent wise and yet even down 23 points we never stopped fighting. Too often during the Herb-era we never STARTED fighting. You and I both know that if we were down 7 points with 3 minutes left in the Herb era we just went into shutdown mode. There was no effort to make a comeback we just kept running the same stall offense and pretended to be disappointed things didnt work out at the end.

This game was totally inexcusable. I didnt see the game but Im disgusted at the turnovers. I love the up-tempo game but you have to have the manpower to do it. Ferguson needs to adjust quickly. He's too talented to look like such a pussy out there. First order of business take off the tee-shirt. When you go out there looking like a homo no one is going to respect you and you're not going to have any confidence. Who cares if you're skinny? Plenty of skinny guys have their way with college girls. You think Mike Dunleavy lets it bother him that he's skinny? Hell no he's probably banging magazine girls. Grow a fucking pair Ferguson, we need backcourt help. Cut your hair short and start fucking freshmen and then go out there and play with style instead of having your balls in your throat the whole game.

LMAO

great post but that last part was just for the funny.

One thing you need to understand is that shooting is not the problem. We were shooting 15% better than them most of the game but they had about 24 more shots than we because of the turnovers.

Well i didnt see the game but I did see the majority of the Alabama game and shooting was DEFINITELY the problem.

Our shots werent even coming close to going in.

We arent really exerting ourselves on defense because of depth issues that much is obvious. Our offensive system looks great. The problem is we cant hit ANY jumpers. At some point you just have to man up and say Im going to hit this shot. Shots arent that hard, one big help is that the basket is always located at the same place because this isnt golf.

I don't see shooting as the problem. Atleast not shooting percentage.

FG-56.9%
3FG-46.2%
FT-46.7% (This stat is what needs to be worked on. This is just unacceptable)

We took 79 shots compared to there 107........(that's including free throws and 3 pointers)
It seemed like for about 5 or 6 minutes we didn't even get a shot off. When we set up our offense and got chances we were scoring but we turned the ball about half the time we touched it. If we can limit the turnovers and get more attempts then we can win ball games.(we could have won today's atleast)

no idea for today. but alabama was holding opponents to under 36 percent. we shot above 40. its not great, but it wasnt why we lost

we mainly looked exhausted...

too tired to play defense, too tired to care who we passed the ball to, or how we dribbled.

"we"

I don't want to play anything other than what I've been trying to play lately. All I have to do is think of me and have a great stat line. I'm tired of looking to the sidline wondering what I gotta to do Or who I'm supposed to be. I don't want to be anything other than me"

Wow. If we lost to Cincy then this season might be longer than even I expected. Rutgers very well might be the worst BCS (Power 6) conference team out there this year... They beat Cincy 54-42 in Cincy.. bleh!
