It's early. Everyone will lose before long. I guarantee this will not be football season all over again. (as far as miami and fsu struggling)

Oh, yeah I know. Duke, UNC, and Tech are all going to be just fine.. however, Boston College was severely overrated. They got blown out at home by Vermont and just got beat again by a Providence team fresh off a 10 point loss to Brown (yes, the Ivy League). It's only a matter of time before Dudley turns into a head case again. That team is in deep, deep trouble.

Good news is that Clemson, UVA, and MD are all starting strong. This might be Ibekwe's year to finally live up to the hype.

Wake lost by 1 at home to UGA today.

The end was awful. Had about 7 seconds left on the clock, took five of those to get the ball up the floor, and then a horrible last attempt by Visser (that went off too late) sealed it.

it's both ways...there have been several plays where mcroberts has been nailed with no call and one of the fouls on pocius was simply him getting railed over by a georgetown player...the officiating is just bad, it isn't swayed in one direction (tonight at least)

I wish the refs would learn that if two players dive for a ball, the one that is on top of the other player is committing a foul.

that was my problem with the call on pocius he was the first to touch the ball and lower, but it was called against him like he was reaching in...scheyer finally showed up in the game

Its not listed in the on screen guide, but Florida-Florida State is in HD on inHD channel 292 on TWC.

FSN-HD will be doing one Sunday night game in HD most weeks throughout the season as well.

Kent St isn't horrible. They played decently but were way too sloppy. Doesn't matter. Duke will lose at least 5-7 games in the ACC. They just aren't very good...

Two excellent games tonight.

Pitt versus Ok State. Both teams coming off a loss but expect Pitt to rebound. They had an 'under the weather' Gray against Wiscy. I think Gray is overrated but he is important to their team. Close game but it's at the Oakland Zoo so I say Pitt by 4.

Duke AT Gonzaga. Coach K finally schedlues a road game! Well, that's how it's listed on ESPN at least but it's a home game for Duke at MSG. The Zags beat UNC on the same court but they have since lost to mediocre teams like Wazzou and UGa. Duke will turn the ball over a lot and Huytvelt will have a big game but Paulus is finally going to play a point as unathletic as him (Ravio). Duke by 8.

^ I have money on both those games tonight. OK St. is favored over Pitt, which is ludacris, and Duke is favored only by 2 over the Zags.

I'm actually about to go away for the weekend but I wanted to check the spreads one more time before putting the $$$ down. I messed up. The game is in OK City not at Pitt. I didn't lay any down on that one.

I put some down on Duke-Zags though since it's a home game pretty much for Duke and they will be looking to impress...

I knew Florida would win because Ohio State isnt good at defense at all. Oden is a great shot blocker but they aren't that good on team defense and on offense they just come down and take bad shots that usually go in because they are so talented.

I wouldn't even call WVU an upset if that is what you were referring to. I figured UConn would lose that game. Such a young team with no scholly players older than sophs on the road against a very complex and well coached offense and a 1-3-1 zone they aren't used to seeing. I'm actually impressed it was as close since it was played on campus (unlike the State-WVU game). That is a very intimidating building...

Actually, I'd agree with you.

But in terms of a higher-ranked team losing to a lower or unranked team, only one of those five actually happened. tOSU, Oregon, Nevada, and Florida all won.

There was one other "upset"--Northern Iowa over Wichita State. This one was also not at all a surprise.
