i meant he is not leaving em after this year, he has built em up from nothing to almost cusa champ status, he's not just gonna ditch em now[Edited on November 25, 2006 at 12:28 AM. Reason : fdsj]

^ if he got offered a job at a bigtime football school (no, not us), i guarantee you he'd leave ecu. that's how you play the coaching game.
11/25/2006 12:43:24 AM
well no shit
11/25/2006 12:54:05 AM
remember when we were 1-0 after beating app state... and our national title hopes were still alive
11/25/2006 1:18:42 AM
actually, I never had any BCS hopes
11/25/2006 2:56:29 AM
This has taken over my life....wow
11/25/2006 3:21:00 AM
Cowher would be ideal, however i like Norm chow and getting reggie herring back i think that team would work very well, also if we're having trouble finding someone instead of letting coaches around the nation use us to get raises for their athletic departments I say we hire lou holtz as interim, hes a good coach he needs a better send off into retirement and we've had a coach with chronic larangitis a lisp can't be that much worse.

I'm hearing the short list is...- Cowher (depending on whether or not he's that serious about taking the "year off")- Paul Johnson (who I'd love)- Norm ChowBunch of guys after that, but these are guys we've been in contact with for a few weeks and get the first opportunity to turn us down (that's the "basketball, pessimistic coaching search"-side of me).
11/26/2006 10:17:26 AM
and who are you hearing this from?
11/26/2006 10:21:56 AM
How good is paul johnson?
11/26/2006 10:33:51 AM
He's the shit in my opinion. He's done great things in both of his previous jobs.
11/26/2006 10:36:01 AM
larry coker
11/26/2006 10:42:30 AM
^ sigh, NO!
11/26/2006 11:00:42 AM
If we end up with Chow. god knows we have to find a good DC. please oh please dont mess that decision up.
11/26/2006 11:04:22 AM
Norm Chow is not coming back, just let that go. And, State can't even talk to Cowher until January, and you don't want to be coachless for two months.
11/26/2006 11:07:25 AM
listenthere are rumors on the internetthere is a 100% chance that we can get whoever we wantedwe dont question the internet
11/26/2006 11:08:48 AM
11/26/2006 12:21:59 PM
Steve Logan? is this even a good rumor?
11/26/2006 1:25:20 PM
I would have a woody if we brought norm back.

this is going to turn into a football version of the basketball coach search
11/26/2006 1:38:14 PM
i doubt it, and even if so, it would literally be difficult to find a coach that is worse than amato.
11/26/2006 2:11:19 PM
any good mid major coaches like the guy from boise last year?
11/26/2006 7:49:42 PM
Mike Shula will get fired from 'Bama...he is a great coach but the fans there think that they have the all time best football program and should be contending for a national championship every year...Shula got the program out of the gutter for NCAA violations, but I think they wanted him to rebuild quicker[Edited on November 26, 2006 at 7:58 PM. 11/26/2006 7:54:48 PM
i would like to see shula here...he has played good teams (tenn, fla, aub, lsu, ark)to close games with a fairly average team at best at bama, my only problem is he could never finish these games with W's...but it looks like he will be a great coach
11/26/2006 7:57:19 PM
so he's like an sec version of chuck, except we don't hate him yet?i'd take him, though.[Edited on November 26, 2006 at 7:59 PM. Reason : ]
