the Buddy Garrity character was John Aubrey in the movie.

Reports are saying NBC ordered six new scripts of the show so at least a second season in some form will be happening. I could see this going like a miniseries next season (6-12) episodes as some sort of midseason replacement or special event.

I know, that kinda pissed me off. I hope that this will be renewed in the fall.

Yeah that ending was kinda a letdown. it sucks too, after such a great last couple months of episodes going out like that. maybe they'll follow the coach at TMU AND the dillon panthers. maybe Street takes over. maybe the coach just stays, riggins fails, and the whole cast is back again. who the hell knows?

on a side note, did anybody else think that Devil Song they played at the end was weird as hell?? the music was good but it was about devils and vampires. i was trying to see the analogy but didn't quite get it.

great show though. one of my favorites. here's to hoping for a season 2

because

Quote :
"In 1990, Johnston played at a music festival in Austin, Texas. On the way back to West Virginia on a small, private plane piloted by his father, Johnston became hypomanic and wrestled control of the plane away from his father. Daniel removed the key from the ignition and threw it out of the plane. His father managed to successfully crash-land the plane in a wooded area. Although the plane was destroyed, Johnston and his father emerged unharmed. As a result of this episode, Johnston was involuntarily committed to a mental hospital.

In 1991, Johnston was able to air his music on a radio show while being hospitalized at a West Virginia mental hospital. While hospitalized, Johnston sent requests to his manager to have Yoko Ono produce his music and to contact Mountain Dew about the possibility of becoming the soft drink's spokesman. Johnston wrote a song praising Mountain Dew during this hospitalisation, in which he claimed to have been locked up for being "crazy about Mountain Dew.""

I guess I'm not as impressed by mental illness.

And the show has been moved to Friday's at 10pm. Friday's have the stigma of having terrible numbers as far as viewers go but one more season of FNL is good enough.

Well here is the thing. NBC has low expectations for Friday, just like all networks. If FNLs keeps its current fanbase and can pull a 2.5, they will be very happy about this. Personally I think Friday at 10 is a good TiVo time, or time to watch after you get home from going out to eat or something. 8 or 9 is too early on a Friday night to be home at all. 10 is more plausible. I'll probably always be Tivoing it.

Just an idea, but maybe they are going for the Friday Night Football crowd. This could become a ritual for people to come home and watch the show after a game.
