I'm compromised
10/25/2006 8:05:00 PM
Well I guess we got the 5 minutes about nuclear holocaust already. Can turn the show off now.
10/25/2006 8:05:56 PM
Exactly.
10/25/2006 8:19:39 PM
Well, we all knew they were gonna do the Mad Max angle of out-of-town vigilantes and also the everyone for themselves bit.
10/25/2006 9:10:35 PM
horse rustl'n?you get hung for that boy
10/25/2006 9:26:08 PM
This show has got about 2 more weeks to seriously pick up the pace before I completely lose interest. I knew this would turn into this mess. It could have been so awesome, but instead it's trying to copy Lost. Not a damn thing happens every week and all we're left with is more questions. I'm almost done with this one.
10/26/2006 12:01:25 AM
^my buddy and i were saying the same thing. Hawkins' story line is the only thing that is keeping me interested right now. That and the IRS chick is bangin'
10/26/2006 12:20:59 AM
i just can not get into to this showi watch bits and pieces but its just tooooo slow
10/26/2006 8:59:46 AM
Just goes to show, we should stick to mini-series and Movies if we ever want to finish a story line. We should have seen this coming ever since Lost was a financial success. "That's what people want! To be dragged slowely and painfully towards a conclusion that never arrives! That way the show never ends and we keep selling commercial time!"
10/26/2006 9:15:51 AM
10/26/2006 9:29:22 AM
30 minutes.Big money, no whammies this week.
11/1/2006 7:29:11 PM
show more of the hot young chickalso, at least these vigilantes are bringing some action to the show...i thought it was awesome when the lady from kindergarten cop got trampled by horses
11/1/2006 7:44:22 PM
New York not getting hit yells internal attack. Also, Lawrence, Kansas (home of KU) getting hit points to conspirators from K-State.
11/1/2006 8:29:00 PM
No, Lawrence, KS getting hit just indicates that the terrorists saw The Day After and hated the John Lithgow character. Wherever we're going, I wish we'd get there faster. I mean, Jericho seems like it's going to survive pretty well, with its recent harvest, and its organized government, and its newly-forged connection to the local crime lord, and all, but they're still pretty starved for information. If I were there, I'd have long ago give in to the urge to pack up my guns, ammo, food, water, gasoline, and clothing in my car, drive toward the capital myself, and get my own answers. (And, judging from the guy that made it back, I'd be dead.)
11/1/2006 9:14:55 PM
11/1/2006 9:25:06 PM
^ I take it you don't watch many TV shows. If you find out next week everything, there's no reason to tune in 3 months from now. [Edited on November 1, 2006 at 9:57 PM. Reason : /]
11/1/2006 9:45:19 PM
There are much better shows such as Heroes and BSG that actually have important things happen for the entire fucking episode. This show literally has 5 minutes or less of things that move along the plot. The talentless hack writers are trying to copy the machinations of Lost, rather than making a show that is actually good.I predict a midseason cancellation if this shit continues. Even Lost isn't holding their audience because of this fucking bullshit. Fool me once...
11/1/2006 10:20:21 PM
So did they alude to there being a nuclear bomb in Jericho this episode? They mentioned that guys in NY were caught with at 20kt nuclear bomb in a 55 gallon drum. Isn't that what hawkins put up the cinderblock wall around in one of the earlier episodes?
11/2/2006 9:17:58 AM
^ My thoughts exactly.
11/2/2006 9:39:27 AM
^Its Probably an insurance policy in the case that something goes wrong.
11/2/2006 10:16:32 AM
What? So, if he gets arrested, he nukes the city!?!? BTW, what is the final total? 16 cities have been nuked?!?! How much of the country was hit with EMP effects from air-burst nukes? I ask because so far only a few states have lost their capitals. Political machinery (military and state police) should be having no difficulty what-so-ever maintaining a semblance of order to the chaos. Think about it, North America has a huge police force, we have more police officers per capita than many other places on Earth. Surely they were not all gunned down by escaped convicts.[Edited on November 3, 2006 at 3:03 PM. Reason : .,.]

BTTT for tonight's episode.
11/8/2006 8:02:16 PM
this show sucksthe acting sucksthe town doesnt look realisticit sucksbut i want to find out what happens
11/8/2006 8:03:10 PM
^ sadly i am sucked in for the same reasons.
11/8/2006 8:50:15 PM
Me too. There were times this episode was painful to watch, but the end of it was alright, and next episode looks good. You win me again CBS.
11/8/2006 9:04:00 PM
I refuse to watch the show, so someone just go ahead and tell me about the 5 mins of important details.
11/8/2006 9:27:31 PM
the show is going on hiatus after the Nov 29th episode, and will return February 14 with a recap episode then on Feb 21 with a new episode that apparently will be about the days of Jericho before the bombings.Hopefully the hiatus will give the writers time to develop the characters more and speed things up, at least the small stuff.. the show seems like a movie.. one story line that they seem to drag only to be able to have more episodes.. last nights episode seemed to start doing that.. but they spent the entire episode looking for medicine..
11/9/2006 1:35:01 PM
tis on
11/15/2006 8:02:53 PM
Plz to stop it with the Eric & April drama and the chick who is supposed to get married drama. [Edited on November 15, 2006 at 8:46 PM. Reason : Damnit, now I want to see more of Hawkins!]
11/15/2006 8:25:28 PM
I can't stop watching
11/15/2006 11:46:54 PM
bridge scene was pretty awesome
11/16/2006 2:07:03 AM
yeah, good episode last night
11/16/2006 8:51:11 AM
yeah the wedding mess w/ that blonde chick last night was getting annoying. The concept of the show is really cool...and there's so much potential there....but it's just so hard to stay interested.
11/16/2006 9:47:51 AM
Between April and Eric's failing marriage and the tripping chick on wedding day it felt like it dragged. At least it had some redeeming parts, unlike the second and third episodes.
11/16/2006 11:54:14 AM
Next couple look like they should be pretty good.
11/16/2006 12:20:25 PM
we could lose 5 billion peopleand civilization wouldn't even flinch
11/16/2006 12:25:41 PM
we could lose 5 billion peopleand this show would make it seem boring as fuck
11/16/2006 6:29:02 PM
Simple solution for that: don't watch.Stepping back though, think about this in your case if you lived in the rural Midwest, had no phone, no internet access, no TV, no radio. If you took all that away from me right now with everything else working and the electricity on, I'd have no idea what was going on in Raleigh 60 miles away, let alone the rest of the country.Blow up the bridge struck me as stupid when I heard it. "Uh, can't they just go 10 miles down the road to another bridge that goes across the same river?"[Edited on November 16, 2006 at 9:44 PM. Reason : .]

I don't think so. News would be all that people care about and they will make sure they get it. Everyone will have neighbors over for dinner that have news. In this way, news will travel by mouth very far, all it takes are working automobiles, which it seems are somewhat common in rural areas. However, it bears pointing out that the country is still cris-crossed with wires. Dig some up (or use power lines if needed) and run a primitive telephone line, all you need is access to a radioshack. And since the parts-drawers are metal we can be pretty sure the electronics inside survived the EMP and still work, all you need is a transistor or two. Of course, this being the case, a competent electrical engineer should be able to build you a primitive AM transmitter and receiver from scratch. If you have an AM station near town then the crappiest circuit should go a hundred miles, provided enough electrical power, and anyone with a crystal set should be able to pick it up.[Edited on November 17, 2006 at 8:17 AM. ^ you are assuming people are still able to travel to get that information and that they are not too 'civilized' enough to know how to interpret morse code and other older technologies. You also have to have knowledgeable people with the means to broadcast that information. I agree with Flyin Ryan, because this is a small town you have to believe that information isn't going to travel at the rate we have grown accustomed too. Outside of Dawkin's character no information is making it to Jericho unless someone from the outside comes in and tells them which would mean that outsider would have to know something themselves, or they go out and get information like they did in a earlier episode. I think many of us went into this show expecting Jericho to run at a pace of show based in a large city which isn't realistic. Being from a small town myself I can relate to how the events have transpired so far. This is probably why this show is so frustrating to some people. With no working communication devices, and no real way of even know who conducted the attack, not that they can assume it was these people are pretty much left in the dark left with figuring out what is going on in the outside world.Think of how new technologies spread out. Take for instance the internet. Once it became a consumer product it first made it's way to large metro areas like D.C., NY, Chicago, L.A., etc. Then it made it's way to other cities. I wouldn't be until years later that technologies like the internet would make it's way into a town like Jericho. I remember having to wait a couple of years before I could make a dial-up connection at home without paying large long distance fees. Such could be reasonably assumed with the spread of 'real' information about an attack to a town such as Jericho. Cause I am sure there is a lot of misinformation out there as well.[Edited on November 17, 2006 at 8:34 AM. Reason : .]

I disagree bigTHEW, out of a community of thousands you can rest assured someone will have the basic engineering knowledge required to get a telephone working to the next town. But that is kinda irrelevant. Each town is going to set up like Jericho, and odds are good that resources are not going to be well distributed among these towns. For basic survival trade with neighboring towns will take place, however they need to do it. Examples abound: we've got lots of gasoline but no working vehicles; another town has plenty of food but no firearms to hold off bandits. Even during the height of the indian wars stage coaches regularly made dangerous trips, this would be no different. And these heavily armed carivans will form a by-mouth communication system AND provide the routes necessary to run electronic channels of communication. As for morse code: not needed. If you ever find yourself with a telegraph but can't recall morse code then just make it up from scratch and teach it to a counter-part and then smuggle them and a second telegraph to the next town.[Edited on November 17, 2006 at 10:24 PM. BTTT to see if everyone's given up on this show. ^ Aside from the nuclear hits, our communications infrastructure ought to be more or less intact. Internet obviously still works, even though it's been completely blocked. I don't see why they can't find or build an AM radio and tune in to the clear-channel stations at night. Or why the amateur radio bands aren't completely filled with voice traffic ranging from "Remain calm. Your government is still in complete control," to "ZOMG teh red Chinese are invading." We've seen that they have the radio equipment and know-how needed to listen and broadcast, so why is all their information coming from on-again-off-again satellite tv and from people physically driving to other towns?
11/24/2006 3:12:55 PM
and why are they getting Chinese food, that was dropped with American parachutes from old Russian planes?
11/24/2006 4:42:33 PM
BTTT for the last episode before break tonight.May be the last one I watch, but I think I say that every week.
11/29/2006 7:17:43 PM
See You Soon
11/29/2006 8:58:11 PM
Yah, that was a nice twist at the end, as well as the return of Roger.
11/29/2006 8:58:53 PM
i hate this show...I really do. Fuck the love story shit, I wanna know about the holocaust stuff
11/29/2006 8:59:39 PM
this show makes me sick, yet i keep watching the train wreck.
11/29/2006 8:59:40 PM
it's trying to be like Lost with all the website tie-ins to the show.
