Shadowplay: The Hidden Beliefs and Coded Politics of William Shakespeare by Claire Asquith. Very interesting, I've been meaning to read this for a while and finally picked it up in paper back. I just finished The Joy Luck Club, which I can't believe I waited so long to read. I also have The Demon in the Freezer by Richard Preston lying around half read. I'll probably finish that up before classes start.

Eldest^pretty good, even if it is Empire Strikes Back
3/9/2007 9:17:59 PM
Weird, I don't see that at all.Unless you're trying to make a weak father/son parallel.

3/10/2007 12:16:43 AM
Not even Pale Fire?
3/10/2007 12:18:35 AM
^^^ mostly just because Eragon is Star Warsbut as for Eldest:- old master that you didn't know about in the first one (yoda/oromis)- the Empire is chasing the loved ones of the main character in hopes of using them as bait, and then turning the main character to the dark side- young apprentice seeing a vision of his friends in trouble, and leaves before his training is done- revelation as to who the main character's father is- main character thinks he's a badass, and then gets owned in a duel and loses his weapon

digital camera manualthe cover of 1984, my GF is reading it. I told her she wouldn't enjoy it. She said I'd say that. I said why did you think I'd say that? I think she thinks I criticize her too much. I think I criticize her too much too. I just want to wear the pants but I run around in my underwear all the time so when I try to say how it is, it comes off like I'm all hot air. Gotta put some pants on if you want authority: but then she complains.

^ I thought it was a waste of time. It's very little science and a lot of speculation and outright inaccuracies. If you're interested in the ideas about culture that should have been explored, maybe try something like http://www.amazon.com/Red-Queen-Evolution-Human-Nature/dp/0140245480, which I hear is fantastic.
