dont agree with that first statement...they had negative yards in the first place either because a)they suck, or b)state's d was better at the time. its not like akron stepped up and showed us how to play football. the fact is that both teams looked like shit out there, with occasional plays that were good, and i dont see why people say we didnt "deserve" to win.
9/10/2006 12:40:15 PM
people were throwing bottles as the akron team headed for the tunnel they were hit by a barrage of bottles. they came back out on the field then left again.i hope the team/fans dont stay too upset. it wasnt an acc game and the only thing we really lost out on were hopes of a bcs at large which i dont think anybody was expecting anyway.

thats not the point. the point is there is massive conspiracy against NCSU.cough.
9/10/2006 5:35:53 PM
maybe you can conclude he's down if that picture was taken from directly on the goaline...even if they slowed it down in instant replay they might not have seen it like that...just face it, we played NOT TO LOSE instead of PLAYING TO WIN
9/10/2006 6:20:10 PM
that's not true, we scored a with like <2 minutes left, our D just fucked up, what u want em to do
9/10/2006 6:23:44 PM
9/10/2006 6:25:06 PM
really? almost every game we dont play to win, we play conservative in the first half trying to make sure we have atleast a chance in the 2nd half. the way we played these first 2 games will not win a game once we get to acc competition. just because we scored with 2 minutes left doesnt mean anything, it was akron's defense...like someone said earlier, you cant let them go 2 drives in a row for td's and 150+ yards in under 3 minutes...blame the entire defense, where was the line when we needed pressure? where was the qb spy watching the qb to make sure he doesnt run for 20 yards? blame goes to the players and the coaching staff for the plays called
9/10/2006 6:28:05 PM
we didn't play not to lose, we tried to pass quite a bit but our QB is awful.

^^ there wasn't one.. it was espnU^
9/10/2006 10:20:20 PM
What is really shitty about all this is that this game COULD have decided our postseason fate.So now if we finish 6-6 and possibly should have won this game, we won't go bowling because of it.But who am I kidding we will be lucky to win 4 games this year.

^^ At least we did move the ball somewhat at the end and maybe it will give stone some confidence for the next game... but I dont see us getting to a bowl at this point.... but we can always hope
9/10/2006 10:25:01 PM

Are you still on this?Just let it go. The dude was in, we lost the game. Maybe this means we'll actually take a step towards improving for next week, because we're pretty much fucked if we don't.For all we know the guy getting into the end zone could be a blessing in disguise.(I don't actually believe this is the case, but I'd rather blind optomism than this "OMG HE WASN'T IN EVEN THOUGH EVERY VIDEO REPLAY SHOWS HE WAS" bullshit)[Edited on September 11, 2006 at 1:48 AM. Our first first down of the game (through a non-penalty) came with 10 minutes left in the second quarter.
9/11/2006 8:36:24 AM
lol well yesterday the panthers didn't get a first down until the fourth quarter.god that michael vick is golden.
9/11/2006 9:57:34 AM
Anyone else starting to feel like the next upgrade to carter-finley should be CAMERAS MOUNTED INSIDE THE PYLONS.... And maybe, just maybe we should hire videographers for the goalline as well.... This beaten by inches shit is getting old! I'm not making excuses for the poor overall play of our team, but official error is really wearing on my nerves. If they can't get the call right, then they shouldn't get paid (although I'm sure the Rams Club would make sure they don't go unpaid). Sorry for the rant guys, but I'm just a little frustrated/disappointed with the overall performance by the team/zebras on Saturday.
9/11/2006 10:07:46 AM
9/11/2006 10:09:04 AM
ya it sucks so bad because games are so important in college football. i know its very unlikely but in the event we were to win out we would look back at that call as the reason we arent in the bcs maybe even national championship and that would be devastating.
9/11/2006 10:09:53 AM
sarcasm i hope
9/11/2006 10:14:41 AM
We need to worry about not beating ourselves all the time, but wouldn't it be nice to have those pylon cameras for instances just like what we witnessed on Saturday? Wonder where one can find them...Google had nothing.
9/11/2006 10:17:11 AM
i'm going to give my two cents as objectively as possible, and without having read past page 2 on this thread.i feel like if his elbow had made contact with the ground, it would have been VERY noticable on the video (his elbow would have stuck and dragged) it would be very noticable (especially in the video) because there would be a slight or substantial halt in forward progress of his elbow, since he was diving, and not elbow crawling in. This leads me to believe the photo is inconclusive.
9/11/2006 10:22:34 AM
i think we should use that money for "how to snap the ball" practice videos instead of cameras.
9/11/2006 10:23:11 AM
might as well pick up the "How to Cover a Deep Reciever" and "Passing: The Basics" videos in the same series while we are at it.
9/11/2006 10:42:51 AM
then maybe we can read a book called "Setting Yourself Up For Disappointment: How Not to Have Unrealistic Expectations About NC State's Football Program"
9/11/2006 10:48:26 AM
The sad thing is, I could write that book, and still be just as dissapointed with every loss.Even when I know better, I can't help it.

Greensboro News & Record ran a story wth the picture...http://www.news-record.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060911/NEWSREC0105/609110310

things he could comment on however is why he cant keep our players under control and keep them from getting a penalty that gave Akron a head start at winning the gamehe can answer that
9/11/2006 10:53:42 AM
Akron...away team...scores at the end of the game...no reviewNCSU (@ UNC)...away team...scores at the end of the game...review...call reversed
9/11/2006 10:53:46 AM
ITS A CONSPIRACY AGAINST US!
9/11/2006 10:57:08 AM
OMG isnt it always?
9/11/2006 10:57:30 AM
so neither of you guys think the last play shouldve been reviewed considering it decided the gamek
9/11/2006 11:00:05 AM
THE LIBERAL MEDIA IS KEEPING US DOWN!
9/11/2006 11:00:45 AM
no it should havebut i cant do anything about it sitting on the computerand i doubt the ncaa or whatever is going to admit they were wrong
9/11/2006 11:03:12 AM
well at least YOU agree hunter that the play should have at least been reviewedthats all i was hoping for...if they reviewed it and said he got in, so be it...at least they reviewed it
9/11/2006 11:04:01 AM
thats a quality 1st picture as wellthis however (and most are going to disagree with me here possibly) that this is a much easier call, than the TA one at unc... well, should have been a much easier call for the refs to make
9/11/2006 11:05:51 AM
it really shouldnt have come down to the last 3 secondsthats why we should all just tuck our tail between our legs and drop this, we just look like idiots complaining about it
9/11/2006 11:08:43 AM
well the photographs are a helluva lot clearerat least in the UNC game there was some sort of review even though we lost the gamein the akron game, if he gets into the endzone, they win...if he doesnt, we win...seems like the most important play of the game to reviewand the fact that the game was close has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that they shouldve reviewed a play that close with that much impact/effect on the game]
