I'm here now for business waiting for my flightget me the fuck outta here!!!!!!!!haha jk - it's pretty cool. this place puts raleigh to shame and all, but the commute must be ridiculous[Edited on April 10, 2007 at 8:56 PM. Reason : how long is it to get to the beach from here?]
4/10/2007 8:50:26 PM
^ give my homies at popeyes in concourse B a shout out. Word up!!
4/10/2007 10:08:10 PM
The Elbow Room is littered with the remains of the waitstaff from the Fish everynight.
4/11/2007 12:54:20 AM
it's about 4 hours to Savannah, 5 hours to Charleston, and 6 hours to Destin, FLthe commute is all about where you live and where you work...some people insist living in the burbs so they can have a dirt-cheap big house and their commute sucks ass...those that reverse commute never have much of a problem at allso, has anyone here had aftermarket car audio work done here? I'm looking for a shop (not Best Buy, Circuit City, etc) that can do a quality job on head unit/speakers for a Porsche 944.[Edited on April 11, 2007 at 10:30 AM. Reason : .]

4/11/2007 6:17:20 PM
i'll be down for that...when they get a real QB
4/11/2007 11:43:20 PM
haha I wouldnt go to all that many games, so I was thinking of 2 tickets for every home game split between 4 people. So everyone would get 2 tickets for 2 games... something like that
4/12/2007 2:27:10 AM
Moving there Saturday bitches
4/18/2007 2:45:32 PM
Yes, the Atlanta Fish Market. My boyfriend is a host there.
4/18/2007 4:23:36 PM
that is litreally across the street from my building... so, how is it?
4/18/2007 4:57:51 PM
Eh, it's alright. I like Pricci (Right down the street closer to Piedmont) a lot better. But you really can't go wrong with the Buckhead Life Group.if you're in the apts across the street that have the courtyard in the middle - that's where my pals used to have a studio.
4/18/2007 9:39:17 PM
ummm, no courtyard or at least I dont think so... there is a pool on the 10th floor...
4/18/2007 11:18:02 PM
the courtyard one is next door to where he is - the alexan
4/19/2007 10:13:39 AM

4/19/2007 9:13:02 PM

4/19/2007 11:38:35 PM

4/23/2007 4:17:06 PM
my parents are going to be in this weekend... is this something I could take them to or is it too "wild"
4/23/2007 10:54:18 PM
closing on friday - i might end up at the festival if i can find time away from ceiling fan and blind installation
4/23/2007 10:58:46 PM
will you be in Raleigh tomorrow night for that ladder?
4/23/2007 11:45:16 PM
yeah i'll be here until friday amand i'll be up here until the middle of may for work and in atl for the weekends ]
4/23/2007 11:47:07 PM
i think it's doable for the parents...thou with marta rides and shuttle buses, may not be the best choice for one getting used to the city. trust me when I say there is no way in hell you are going to get parking for this thing...it's marta all the way
4/24/2007 1:27:17 PM
I think the Elbow Room is quickly becoming my favorite regular bar... nice people, good cheap food, great specials (50 cent slices of pizza M-F from 5pm-7pm)
4/25/2007 11:06:08 PM
where is elbow room?
4/25/2007 11:48:26 PM
Pharr Rd. Right across from the Fish Market. Little green house-like building, really cool laid back place. Great food for a bar.
4/26/2007 12:01:18 PM
damn, just found out they are tearing down a lot of buckhead this summer for new developments... anyone know exactly where they are doing this?
4/28/2007 2:50:51 AM
successful closing - moving sucks though
4/28/2007 9:15:21 AM
so mr badu...i hear atlanta is pretty ghetto but the suburbs are nice, and in one of my classes, they said its about 2000 a year less to live in atlanta than in raleigh- whats your opinion mr badu...i'm all for living in a new state but i dont want my quality of life to go down
4/28/2007 11:20:25 AM
Just like any city, there are bad sections and good sections.I'll check with J to see if he knows anything about the Buckhead "revitalization"They need to do something with that strip - but I don't see why they would take down what's there and thriving behind it.
4/28/2007 11:31:16 AM
^ no more oyster fest, hello new condos and retail stores!! yay, just what buckheaded was lacking!!!! beautiful weekend weather, wasn't it? this is why i moved back south.
4/30/2007 12:34:20 PM
^^^ its a lot cheaper... and there are a lot of nice areas. ^ yeah, no shit, annoying as fuck.. I really hope The Elbow Room is staying
5/1/2007 12:44:28 AM
J says the Elbow Room isn't affected. Yay!
5/1/2007 1:01:44 AM
sweet! is he sure or does he just think so...?
5/1/2007 1:37:21 AM
5/1/2007 9:40:29 AM
my condo here is about 1/3 the size of my house in Raleigh haha... needless to say I am going closet organization shopping today...
5/1/2007 4:27:43 PM
^ hahaha, yeah, that's gotta be a tough transition. i moved here straight from grad school, where i had two roommates, so i had already rationalized most of my crap. good luck!
5/1/2007 11:36:44 PM
na its cool, the house I owned in Raleigh was WAY too big for just me (1700 sf)... I really like having everything in one space now, its cozy
5/2/2007 12:18:32 AM
Alright one of my NYC buddies is down here - any reccomendations on great places to take him Thursday night?
5/2/2007 12:24:45 AM
well... I met the owner of 3 restuarants in Atlanta tonight... gave me his card, you could try his places out, really cool guy
5/2/2007 12:47:04 AM
hmm, maybe the Va Highlands? We used to go all over the place on Thurs nights in grad school - nothing spectacular that I can remember, but we always had 20-30 people at a minimum, so we always made it a good time.my apt here is the same size as my one in San Diego (god it hurts every time i write that and realize i'm in atlanta instead) - except it's a one bedroom instead of a 2BR.
5/2/2007 11:07:52 AM
^^^ i've tried, so hard, to find a good thursday night spot in atlanta. i mean, i like to get hammerd on thursdays, but i've never found anywhere consistent to do it. the bars in the highlands are typically ok though - hand-in-hand, if the weather is nice, will have a decent amount of people. as will atkins park and moes and joes. but they clear out pretty early, by midnight. in midtown, twisted taco sometimes has a lot of folks on thursdays, but it's rather hit or miss. i normally head there after drinking in the highlands if i'm really drunk and feeling frisky, but i alwys go home disappointed [Edited on May 2, 2007 at 4:27 PM. Reason : .]
5/2/2007 4:26:28 PM
I'm thinking Highlands might be best/closest to what he's used to - the ability to roam between bars. Everything else seems so spread out. he's interested in Buckhed too though....also, anyone want to join?
5/2/2007 10:06:22 PM
I would be up for some Buckheadage
5/3/2007 12:04:53 AM
we're headed out to Fat Matt's for dinner - so where else could I take him. I doubt he'd be down for gay country
5/3/2007 8:06:21 AM
Fat Matt's! The ribs are gangsta. I made the mistake of going to the chicken shack side once, though, and that was the most painful dining experience of my life. dude took about 20 minutes to scoop me up some mac and cheese, fries, and 3 pieces of white meat. I always take my out of town friends to clermont and then majestic late night. it don't get any realer than that.
5/3/2007 11:32:26 AM
gay country? Hoe Down's? i dated a girl who had a lesbian friend for a while my first year in grad school...we'd head out there with her girlriend...it was fun, but definately not everyone's cup of tea
