well maybe they will at least beat the Hawks

Jordan flying around looking for international playerssaid this in the article

last night they were missin half the team it seemed. the positives though:morrison was more aggressive with his shot. unfortunately he was off, big time, but i'd rather see him go 1-15 than 2-6, cause eventually his shot will fall.okafor was also pretty impressive. he picked up a few fouls quick, but then played through it without pickin up more until much later in the game. i dont remember his stats and dont feel like lookin it up, but he was gettin boards, blocks, and put-back points. i think when he tried to expand his offensive game, it really hurt him because he's better off just rebounding and tryin to score off putbacks. with the ball in his hands, it takes away from those putbacks, which happens to be one of his greatest strengths.again though, dont read too much into the record. when burleson is playing pg the majority of the game, you gotta assume the game will not turn out the way you want it. with so many young players though, it would be nice to get a win to build on.
10/20/2006 3:29:25 PM
yeah Felton, Wallace, and others didnt playMorrison had like 8 points, May 9Okafor only got 4 fouls, May had 2 i thinkso yeah I wouldnt have expected us to win with those people not playing anyway
10/20/2006 4:37:33 PM
they won tonight 101-89 against the pacers...cant find any stats yet, but i was listenin to it and they were usin some normal lineups tonight. okafor seemed to have a decent game, may had a good game (20 points i think), morrison had 16 or 18, felton was a bit off with his shooting, and othella harrington was perfect from the field. i think he finished with 16.
10/24/2006 10:03:47 PM
I can't believe that Cookie Monster is outplaying Okafor. :/Just goes to show.........well........God I hate UNC.
10/24/2006 11:27:56 PM
got some stats up now...felton was 3-14...he did have 7 steals though. thats pretty impressive. morrison was a little better. 5-14, but he got to the line more, which is a good sign. very below average game for gerald wallace. 3 points, 1 board, 2 assists, 1 steal in 19 minutes.[Edited on October 24, 2006 at 11:44 PM. Its gonna be another long season.I applaud the patience we've shown with free agents, but the drafts have been weak.Morrison doesn't look like a good pick considering how much talent there was in the draft this year.Okafor still hasn't shown much of anything. His offense is very subpar and he doesnt have the size to dominate defensively like he did in college.Felton is a poor option at SG, but we're planning on trading Brevin Knight before the deadline so he can move to PG.May can play but he's way too fucking fat. He's an injury waiting to happen.Gerald Wallace will be up for a huge deal this offseason and i dont know if we want to commit that much $ to a guy that cant shoot or stay healthy.Brezec will command some money and its tough to commit a lot of money to a guy who doesnt work hard enough to get his shot and is slow defensively.Overall we just don't have a lot to build on right now. We need to land a top three pick and get one of the big names coming out next year. The draft class should be loaded at the top next year.

10/25/2006 10:33:58 AM
Because he's playing terribly?I realize its just preseason and he's playing on a team with virtually no offensive weapons but so far he looks awful.10.8 ppg, 2 reb, 2 ast, 0.0 stl, 0.0 blk, 1.83 TO, 32% FG, and 68% FT, 27.5 MPGThats awful.[Edited on October 25, 2006 at 10:39 AM. Reason : a]

when i saw him he looked goodbut yeah my point is its fucking preseason
10/25/2006 10:39:23 AM
^ which means he's playing against less stiff competition
10/25/2006 10:40:24 AM
well we shall see in a few daysMay has really impressed people this preseason howeverhow much weight do you want him to lose?he comes back lighter every year[Edited on October 25, 2006 at 10:41 AM. Reason : >.<]

10/25/2006 11:02:54 AM
haha nice digging for thatIm just saying, at unc he came back from injury lighter and here this year he is lighter (at least in the article i read)either way he will be close to rebounding like Okafor, but Okafors blocks will be better, but May will score many more points (mostly at the free throw line)
10/25/2006 11:05:36 AM
damn, he is a fat fuck...what was he when he came to UNC, pushing 300?he seems like he drops more weight every single year.

so what are everyone's predictions? I'm going with 39-43. Fourth in Southeast: WashingtonMiamiOrlandoCharlotteAtlantaNinth in Eastern Conference:DetroitWashingtonMiamiChicagoClevelandNew JerseyIndianaOrlandoCharlotteMilwaukeeBostonPhiladelphiaTorontoAtlantaNew York-Morrison as Bobcats' 2nd Rookie of Year last 3 seasons (Okafor '04-'05)-Felton and Wallace get mention in All-Star Balloting-Charles Barkley proclaims Bobcats as his favorite team and attempts comeback after failing to become governor of Alabama [Edited on October 26, 2006 at 1:59 PM. ill say 30
10/26/2006 3:14:38 PM
yeah, maybe 32-35
10/26/2006 3:57:27 PM
I'll go with 30-52I would have said 5th in the division but now Marvin Williams is out for 6-8 weeks, so we might be better than the Hawks. We have a lot of injury prone guys like OKafor, May, Wallace, etc so its really hard to predict our season record.... obviously a lot of it will depend on our health.I dont think we're better than any team in the Eastern conference though really.[Edited on October 26, 2006 at 6:05 PM. 10/26/2006 6:05:03 PM
i think we have the talent and potential to compete for a playoff spot, but a lot of cards would have to fall just right for that to happen.. i'm thinkin in the neighborhood of 35 wins, 4th in the division, 11th or 12th in conference.
10/26/2006 7:18:17 PM
win #2 of the preseason.....126-124 over the bucks in double OT. othella harrington with the game winner. no stats up yet though. they've been playin these games in non-nba arenas and it takes like an hour for stats to go up.i believe that morrison was 8/15 from the field tonight.[Edited on October 26, 2006 at 11:16 PM. 10/27/2006 11:04:48 AM
1-8 on Three's in a double OT game.GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ....we will struggle again this season. Look for the 'Cats to have a shot at Greg Oden
10/27/2006 11:23:02 AM
well the good news is they werent just firin em up. 6 of the 7 misses came from hermann, burleson, felton, and morrison. morrison was 0-1 from 3 but 8-15 from the floor, so he found his scoring elsewhere. felton has never been a great 3 point shooter. burleson isnt worth talking about. hermann is european and has to get use to the longer distance.for anyone that didnt look at the box score, the other miss was from wallace who's been trying to expand his range. he went 9-11 from the field, but 0-1 from 3. oh well, cant hit em all.
10/27/2006 12:06:51 PM
^^ as much as it would suck to suck again, I would love to have Oden.Oden + Okafor healthy and playing to his potential = nobody scoring in the paint or getting an offensive rebound.
10/27/2006 1:14:15 PM
10/27/2006 1:28:52 PM
does anyone know if Oden can actually playas a franchise about to start its 3rd season, we cant draft a guy we have to wait 3 more seasons onwe have to get a free agent pickup
10/27/2006 2:25:55 PM
fuck the bobcats~CrazyWade
10/27/2006 2:34:22 PM

Not picking Brandon Roy looks pretty fucking stupid right now. That guy looks like a stud and we're stuck with Morrison. The kind of guy like Dunleavy or Sczerbiak that you end up giving a big contract to and then regretting it and trying to trade him for a pair of mismatched socks just to get yourself out of salary cap hell.Im angry that they passed on the clear cut rookie of the year Brandon Roy.
10/27/2006 5:24:20 PM
it was a kobe situation with roy. he didnt want to play in charlotte and his agent held him out of meetings and workouts with the team.[Edited on October 27, 2006 at 5:28 PM. Reason : .]
10/27/2006 5:28:05 PM
So Jalen Rose and Latrell Sprewell are out there on the market...maybe the Bobcats could use one of them?spro and i were talking about it, one of those guys might not put us over the top as far as playoffs are concerned, but the organization has the resposibility of putting the most competitive team on the court they can... and if they are having a hard time gaining support, they need to bring in someoneim all for "growing" up our young talent, but if there is a guy out there that wants to play, and can help our team and not cost us much money, i dont see what would be holding us back from signing them
10/30/2006 11:33:38 PM
Sprewell is too much of risk and could cause problems.Rose is washed up and is another small forward...we have 2 already and they both start. We should have picked Brandon Roy or Rudy Gay.V I saw that but they could have picked him and almost made him play here. Gay will be a NBA 2 I believe. But I really wanted Roy. [Edited on October 31, 2006 at 12:35 AM. Reason : V]
10/31/2006 12:30:04 AM
gay's a small forward too....i dont see how that would've helped. i've already mentioned the problem with drafting roy a few posts up.
10/31/2006 12:32:04 AM
yeah Tracer i totally forgot the problem with Roy good call. I still dont know why he wouldnt be okay running with Felton, Wallace, Okafor.... Id much rather be there than playing for that awful Blazers team. I guess location had a lot to do with it but man... the blazers? I think Morrison is really gonna struggle, I almost wish we'd went with Tyrus Thomas... I think we could go Felton, Vince Carter, Wallace, OKafor, Greg Oden.... Then use Tyrus for the 50 games Okafor misses with a strained vagina. No way we get Spree. He's old and a malcontent. He wouldnt want to play here anymore than we'd want him to play here. And Jalen Rose just got essentially waived by the Raptors and waived by the Knicks in a 6 month span. That should tell you something. You don't get better by picking up the worst teams in the league's castoffs. He is like a slightly better shooting Kareem Rush he does nothing for you. Probably has a career in broadcasting ahead of him though...[Edited on October 31, 2006 at 10:09 AM. Reason : a]

10/31/2006 10:20:53 AM
well Kevin Burleson got cut as the Bobcats trimmed their roster down to 15...only PGs are Felton and Knight...I guess this means we'll bring in Hodge soon once Brevin gets injured and has to get a backiotomy
10/31/2006 10:54:11 AM
10/31/2006 12:35:28 PM
is the game tomorow night on TV in raleigh? It says its blacked out from League Pass, and its on that gay MYTV 12 channel, which doesnt show bobcats games when theyre on weekenightsThat would suck if we had to miss the opener
10/31/2006 2:11:54 PM
marty burns from SI has the bobcats ranked #17 in his power rankings.http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/marty_burns/10/30/power.rankings1/index.htmlalso, the pacers dropped james white, so that might be an interesting pick up for the bobcats if they decide to go make some moves. they could drop anderson and pick up white, who has a lot more potential. i'd rather see them get a veteran, even if for just a year, but white could end up being a long term option, whereas anderson probably would not.[Edited on October 31, 2006 at 3:15 PM. 10/31/2006 5:26:38 PM
where did he get the idea that Morrison could play any defense.
10/31/2006 6:33:43 PM
hey i think he got a block or somethin the preseason. that qualifies as "any defense". hopefully he can continue that kind of amazing defensive production
10/31/2006 6:39:48 PM

primoz out for the first 2 weeks of the season due to exhaustion and dehydration.^i dont mind morrison comin off the bench at first, but it bothers me that we have our only 2 pg's starting at the same time. we're gonna have to rely on too much non-pg depth at the point.[Edited on November 1, 2006 at 1:54 PM.
