i drafted Carson Palmershould i try and trade him?will he be 100% when the season starts?
8/21/2006 9:13:46 AM
you can shop to see what you could get for him...but regardless, he will not be "100%" any time soon. At 80%, he is better than most, but that is a chance Palmer owners will have to take this year.I would consider handcuffing Wright, as he has looked solid this preseason so far, just incase Palmer cant go in week 1.
8/21/2006 9:58:43 AM
I can't decide who I should start at QB... especially week 1... I have Delhomme and I have Plummer, and it looks as though they could be almost identical.... the broncos have the rams in week 1, but the Panthers have the Falcons... I cant decide who gets the nod.
8/21/2006 11:27:42 AM
^^ I wouldn't even cuff him, I'd just make sure I had one more QB than needed (i.e., if it's a league that starts 1 QB, take Palmer + 2 more)Of course, you can go ahead and pick up Wright if nobody else is looking good later
8/21/2006 12:08:56 PM
Go with Plummer. Falcons have good CB's. Rams don't play much defense.

i have first pick in my 8 man league... LJ, LT, or shaun? Any help? Plus it's a dynasty league(first year) so I'm leaning towards LJ or LT. Thoughts?
8/21/2006 4:40:18 PM
i would say LTif he's around in the 16th round you might wanna snatch up FRANK GOREthe 9ers traded Kevin Barlow to the Jets yesterday and Gore is gonna be the #1 guy...the 9ers suck sure, but he's a feature back that will probably slide very low
8/21/2006 4:56:19 PM
^good advice.sounds like this......
8/21/2006 4:58:39 PM
a bit after i posted my roster i decided that with najeh being third string i was better off dropping him and picking up chris brown from tennessee.at least brown has a good shot at starting if he doesn't get hurt.the reason i have three QBs is because in our league you get 1 point per 10 yards passing, so i want choices. also, when i drafted i made sure that i never had more than one person at any position with a bye week the same.
8/21/2006 11:28:27 PM
okay, this guy in my league is hard up to trade Peyton Manning. My team looks like this right now:QB- Matt HasselbeckWR- Chad JohnsonWR- Marvin HarrisonWR- HoushRB- Larry JohnsonRB- Ronnie BrownTE- Heath MillerK- John KasayDEF- ChicagoBench QB- Drew Brees, Marc BulgerBench RB- Warrick Dunn, Kevin JonesBench WR- Reggie Brown, Brandon LloydBench TE- Randy McMichaelBench DEF- BaltimoreI offered him this trade: My team gives up- Matt Hasselbeck, Ronnie Brown, Randy McMichael My team receives- Peyton Manning, Jason WittenI think it looks like an even trade, I will use Warrick Dunn or Kevin Jones as my #2 RBwhat do you guys think, I have a tendency to put together unfair trades a lot of times that favor me so they dont go over too well, but this one looks like it might be fair for both of us. His team has Jamal Lewis, Brian Westbrook and Thomas Jones at RB so he is in need of a quality RB

^^i wouldn't do it....if your league is set up like most, good RB's are the most important part of the team, and you've got a pretty good duo in LJ and Brown. It pretty much boils down to you trading Hasselbeck and brown for Manning.....Bad deal in my opinion.[Edited on August 22, 2006 at 9:54 AM. Reason : ^^]
8/22/2006 9:54:21 AM
if this were a 10-14 man league, I would say no. Hasselbeck and Ronnie Brown will both put up big numbers this year...and McMichael is and Witten are almost a wash, but Witten is better.Hasselbeck and Brown will more than go over the fantasy points that Manning gets this year.BUT...since it looks like you are in an 8 man league...I say go for it. There will likely be other players out there on the waiver wire if you need help so why not. Enjoy having the best QB and one of the best RB's in the league this year. It would also give you the QB to WR combo that i love dearly and strive to get every season.GO FOR IT. This would all but clinch your league championship....[Edited on August 22, 2006 at 9:59 AM. ^Mcmichael is likely to have top 5 TE #'s this year.
8/22/2006 10:02:54 AM
i dont think so...I do think he has talent, but I dont think he is better thanGates ShockeyGonzoHeapWittenor Cooleyyou are saying you do?
8/22/2006 10:04:48 AM
shockey is overrated, besides his rookie year he's just been averageGonzo is on the downturn of his career.....i'm not saying he won't have a great season but its a crap shoot in my opinion this year. and i'm not sold on cooleys QB situation.so, yes I think McMichael will establish himself as a top 5 TE this year.and with the ^^^^QB situation, he has 3 good QB's. He could do very well playing musical QB based on the schedule.......but you are correct in saying that the harrison/manning combo is gold.[Edited on August 22, 2006 at 10:15 AM. Reason : .]

8/22/2006 11:34:44 AM
I have TO and Witten on one of my teams and Terry Glenn on the other...I should get some Dallas receiving TDs regardless of what TO does
8/22/2006 11:37:06 AM
Glenn looked great last night
8/22/2006 11:48:51 AM
Glenn did look good.....BUT....1) Bledsoe was throwing against one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. The saints have been thrown all over for years now.2) T.O. wasnt there. He will defintely take away from the looks that the Glenn gets, TO will make sure of it.3) Bledsoe played great. He is a solid QB, at times. The issue is that he has games like this and follows them with terrible performances. His lack of consistency scares any owners of Cowboys WR's and TE's.

i had glenn last year as a sub and he did pretty well with Key and Witten on the field
8/22/2006 1:24:16 PM
its hit or miss though......the QB having a bad day could royally screw you, whereas if you only had one receiver from the team its not that bad of a hit.................diversify yo rosta nigga!

well homeboy rejected my Hasselbeck/Ronnie Brown/McMichael for Manning/Witten tradeI still want Manning from him, can you think of a better trade to pick him up?oh, and now he's putting T.O. up on the block too. 8/22/2006 1:33:59 PM
yes, those players from the Colts are good, but only one can score at a time. This is fantasy football, you want to maximize your chances to score points. Having good players from different teams does this.SHOP THOSE COWBOYS AROUND, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE THOSE OTHER TE'S ON YOUR ROSTER.WTF ARE YOU IN...A 6-8 MAN LEAGUE?
8/22/2006 1:36:52 PM
Drood, you are going to have to come stronger than that for Peyton Manning. How about Chad Johnson, Ronnie Brown, and Hasselbeck for Manning, Westbrook, and T.O.If he has T.O. on the block, he may jusmp at this one. Brown could be a great pick, and Johnson will likely be better than T.O. this year, especially if the hamstring issue keeps lingering for T.O.you are going to have to bend a little to get the best QB in the league this year.

8/22/2006 1:46:44 PM
ugh, thats what I was afraid ofI really dont want to get rid of Chad Johnson especially not for a questionable T.O., I think Warrick Dunn is going to have a good year this year so I dont mind using him as my #2 RB.I might go for Hasselbeck, Housh and Ronnie Brown for Peyton and T.O., that'll give me the most stacked WR corp out there if I have T.O., Marvin and Chad Johnson.I might even throw Brandon Lloyd into that trade to beef it up some. hmmm...
8/22/2006 1:48:35 PM
8/22/2006 3:45:23 PM
I have Dunn as well. Look for him to have a better year fantasy wise now that Duckett is gone. With only one major option, he'll get most of the carries.
8/23/2006 1:37:05 AM
i just tradedWillis McgheeNate Burlesonand Pittsburgh Dfor Chris ChambersDominick Davisand Tampa Bay Dwas this a good trade?i figured mcghee = davis (fantasy wise, plus mcghee just got hurt)Chambers>>burlesonpittsburg D > tampa bay D (but the point difference is very little and there is not much difference in points between any defence)
8/23/2006 10:59:45 PM
^^ hell get broken^ Davis is hurt too he has knee situation and hasnt done much all preseason
8/24/2006 10:08:10 AM
I just pulled off a trade where I gave up Chad Johnson and picked up Peyton Manning, after all that drama from before where I tried to trade Matt Hasselbeck and Ronnie Brown for Peytonnow, I'm trying to put together a trade getting rid of Hasselbeck and maybe a RB for Steve Smith or another top tier WRso now my roster looks like:QB- Peyton ManningWR- Reggie BrownWR- Marvin HarrisonWR- HoushRB- Larry JohnsonRB- Ronnie BrownTE- Heath MillerK- John KasayDEF- ChicagoBench QB- Drew Brees, Marc Bulger, Matt HasselbeckBench RB- Warrick Dunn, Kevin JonesBench WR- Brandon LloydBench TE- Randy McMichaelBench DEF- Baltimore
8/24/2006 11:25:14 AM
Trading for a top level WR is a great idea. I would try to trade Hasselbeck to the team that you play when he has a bye week, that way he can't be used against you. I always try to work my trades that way.
8/24/2006 11:33:58 AM
i have clinton portis, rudi johnson, and reggie bushi can start 2 of them. which do i start?also, bledsoe is my starting QB, and bulger is my backup.Simms, Vick, Favre, and McNair are all still free agents. What should I do here?
8/24/2006 11:54:01 AM
Definately Rudi, and Portis if he is healthy in week 1.I would probably keep the QBs you have now.
8/24/2006 12:06:59 PM

get rid of brooks asap. he plays for a team that can't block for shit, and his preseason has been nothing short of completely afwul. i understand that preseason is preseason, but there have to be better backups available.to be honest, i would try to package him with TO and get a different WR, because the problem with TO is that he's inconsistent, which is really what you need from fantasy. he has only had one year in the last five or so where he played 16 games. however, i also only draft players who have a good work ethic and the right attitude, so there's that. i'll take a bankable top 10 receiver over a coin flip between number 2-3 and a bust.
8/25/2006 12:22:07 AM
So I finished another draft. My team is stacked for 2 reasons:There were only 8 teams4 of the guys didn't know what the hell they were doing. Carson Palmer went 1st overall...M. Bulger QBL. Tomlinson RBR. Johnson RBT. Holt WRC. Chambers WRR. Wayne WRJ. Witten TEN. Rackers KCarolina DEFBench:B. Westbrook RBD. Mason WRK. Warner QBTampa Bay DEFP. Rivers QBV. Davis TE
8/25/2006 1:43:17 AM
I'm playing in a 16-team league that starts 3 QB's, 4 WR's and 3 RB's. I'm thinking of hoarding QB's in the middle rounds of the draft and using them as trade bait when the season starts, since there are not enough QB's to go around in a league this big. Teams without 3 starting QB's are gonna get real desperate to trade with me.What do you think of this strategy?
8/25/2006 2:03:48 AM
^uhhh, but you will only have 2 Wideouts, a defense and 2 Running Backs. Likely some of those will be shitty.you will be in just as much need as they will. Dont do a defensive draft.Draft power players and maximize each pick. you are setting yourself up for a shitty team!- The Guru
8/25/2006 9:21:18 AM
early week 1 question...barring additional injuries, should i start carson palmer @ KC or Jake Plummer @ StL?
8/25/2006 12:51:10 PM
well...the easy answer is too wait and see.We will know much more about Palmer's status after his first preseason game this monday night. If healthy, start him over Plummer, as the Broncos will just pound the ball down the Rams throat.
8/25/2006 1:52:40 PM
Fantasy wise, who's betterDangelo Williams or Cedric Bensoni was leaning towards williams cuz he gets points for kick returns and foster is an injury waiting to happen. Also, Benson lost his starting job to a solid thomas jones.
