well we were talking about it tonight, and she couldn't even remember if she'd seen past I and she still thought it was really good. I'm just not into any of the superhero movies in general...so maybe that's why I feel apathetic
6/24/2006 3:30:22 AM
Eh you don't need to see III. You can scratch IV off that list too. They weren't really that great.
6/24/2006 10:31:53 AM
6/24/2006 10:34:08 AM
Gus Gorman FTW!

6/25/2006 7:38:00 AM
special effects are amazing and the movie looks spectacular, but the story/writting (though it's decent) isn't as great as you'd expect considering they had 150mins screen time.
6/25/2006 8:26:45 AM
Woohoo! Just got tickets to the Wed night showing of Superman Returns in 3D at IMAX!!
6/25/2006 9:59:02 PM
I'm prob. seeing this a few days after it comes out, BUT I am seeing it!
6/25/2006 10:00:44 PM
81% on http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/superman_returns/
6/26/2006 9:46:29 AM
^^^ Are you going to see the full length version first? You know IMAX projectors can only run for two hours, you'll miss a half hour of the movie.^ a good sign
6/26/2006 10:56:59 AM
^They are cutting the movie short for imax? I didn't see anything about that on the imax site.[Edited on June 26, 2006 at 11:31 AM. Reason : ]
6/26/2006 11:26:08 AM
ha it was great, for when episode II played on IMAX they cut out the majority of the bullshit love story...it was great, thats why I liked the movie so much better
6/26/2006 11:34:48 AM
They have to. The bulbs burn like as hot as the sun and can only stand 2 hours of constant run time. And yeah I remember enjoying Episode II much better in IMAX with the wasteful stuff cut out.
6/26/2006 12:07:22 PM
YAY 4 prints of Superman.... so that should mean theres one starting every 45 minutes to an hour
6/26/2006 12:11:13 PM
i think this movie will be much better than x-men 3not that being better than x-men 3 will be hard......[Edited on June 26, 2006 at 12:21 PM. Reason : if imax cuts out superman thats fucking gay as hell. period.]
6/26/2006 12:20:31 PM
^^^i saw LOTR: 2 towers and ROTK on imax, both uncut.
6/26/2006 12:24:10 PM
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
6/26/2006 12:26:25 PM
^^Well that is odd since both of them were like 3 hrs.
6/26/2006 12:55:56 PM
Possible if they had an intermission.... did they?from what i understand their platters can only hold just over 2 hours worth of film.
6/26/2006 12:59:13 PM
6/26/2006 2:33:03 PM
^ Yeah if LOTR had been shown in IMAX we would have been completely 100% all over that! It really really should have been!
6/26/2006 3:03:38 PM
^^ from the man himself I guess. Thanks for the clarification.[Edited on June 26, 2006 at 3:18 PM. Reason : ]

just saw supermangood overall3d parts were coolgood action some parts of the story should have been more developed[Edited on June 27, 2006 at 2:00 AM. Reason : d]
6/27/2006 1:54:29 AM
One of the best movies I have seen in a while. We just finished the technical screening at the IMAX (^hi Paul) and it was great. The movie on its own was amazing and the 3D only made it better. I can only hope that if they make any more Superman films they stick with this cast and crew.
6/27/2006 2:01:55 AM
Just saw the film... I think it's great. I think Bryan Singer does an excellent job of re-creating, and keeping the myth alive.[Edited on June 27, 2006 at 2:35 AM. Reason : ^ I agree]
6/27/2006 2:35:02 AM
^Not that it will really hinder my enjoyment of the movie, but I've heard that Brandon Routh isn't that great when he's playing Clark Kent and actually has to act. Is this noticeable, or does he seem to do alright when he's not in the cape?
6/27/2006 2:36:35 AM
^ I felt that he did a good job (as both Clark, and Superman). You can see that his gestures and mannerisms mimic that of Christopher Reeves.
6/27/2006 2:39:03 AM
sonny bono, skis, horses and hittin some treesthats good to know, I'll be seeing the 10:45 IMAX show Wednesday night
6/27/2006 2:52:02 AM
prolly gonna download this junt when it comes out on the torrents
6/27/2006 3:43:00 AM
You know how the flags people put on their cars start to shred after a while. Especially if they go fast. Well supermans cape needs to shred for me even to think of this movie being beleivable
6/27/2006 9:17:39 AM
they must be expecting this one to do real well. IMDB already has the next superman movie for 2009 announced.
6/27/2006 9:24:16 AM
i've got tickets to the 10pm show tonight
6/27/2006 9:29:58 AM
i thought superman had a "protective forcefield" around him... that's why his clothes and stuff don't tear when he is shot or bombed or whatever. so his cape shouldn't shred right?
6/27/2006 9:39:42 AM
^That and his cape is made from the material that he was wrapped in when he was found in the ship as a baby. The cape is of Kryptonian origin, therefore it is a lot stronger/tougher then regular materials.btw, BEU why would you expect the movie to be believable? It is based off of a comic book. I don't see why you would expect a movie about an alien who looks exactly human, but can fly and shoot lasers from his eyes when he gets close enough to a yellow sun.[Edited on June 27, 2006 at 10:34 AM. Reason : ]
6/27/2006 10:31:35 AM
I was joking. And heat vision is totally plausible
6/27/2006 10:38:57 AM
when john byrne redid everything in the 80s, his cape and clothes got ripped up a whole lot moreof course i have no idea what they're doing in the comics now on that aspect
6/27/2006 12:39:25 PM
Doomsday wrecked his shit, and that included the cape.
6/27/2006 1:57:02 PM
Well I would assume that since it's Supermans higher cellular density that makes him bulletproof, that the same would apply to his Kryptonian clothes.
6/27/2006 2:11:26 PM
So his cape has cells?
6/27/2006 2:40:21 PM
no....MORON.... his cape gets its power from the yellow sun!
6/27/2006 2:44:18 PM
6/27/2006 2:45:07 PM
Now now guys you have it all wrong. His cape is red, that means that when it is powered by yellow sunlight, the cells are active. If he were in red sunlight, the cells would be dormant. Everyone knows that there is an inverse relationship between the cell colour and and sunlight colour.
6/27/2006 3:00:58 PM
hey, just throwing this out there...are you absolutely sure it has nothing to do with radiation....or toxic waste?
6/27/2006 3:11:58 PM
^His poo is made of radioactive toxic waste; his cape is the only thing capable of not being destroyed by it. Luckily, he can just freeze poo with his breath and punch it off of the cape to clean it.
6/27/2006 3:13:11 PM
^hahah, thank you for your wise contributioni have been pondering this for many a year.
6/27/2006 3:39:10 PM
my theaters getting 4 prints so i guess i'll screen one of them tonight. hopefully i'll like it, need at least 1 good comic movie this summer since X3 was very lacking
