he'll break a few screen passes here and there...but he's going to be FAR from the superstar he was in college...McAllister is their best RB by far
8/22/2006 11:39:20 AM
as of now, i agree with that.....but remember Mcallister is coming off major injury, so who knows if he'll be the same back he was.
8/22/2006 11:52:10 AM
true but he has also shown he can do it on sundays...reggie has not
8/22/2006 11:54:18 AM
True.............we're gettin close to seeing tho...............can't wait. Actually I am hoping Bush is a major flop. I don't want to see him slicing us up twice a season in a few years.
8/22/2006 11:56:31 AM
Here are a few of the defenses Reggie has to face this year:Carolina (twice)Tampa Bay (twice)NY GiantsDallasWashingtonPittsburghBaltimorenot quite Arizona, Oregon State, etc
8/22/2006 12:02:52 PM
keep on sippin on that haterade twista
8/22/2006 2:48:12 PM
did you watch him last night? cause im not sippin haterade...i ate a full plate of realityunless you think 4 rushes for 7 yards is whats expected from the 2nd coming of nfl jesus]
8/22/2006 3:43:30 PM
actually i didnt watch him playi just wouldn't call him a flop until he's at least completed an entire NFL seasonthe preseason means absolutely nothing and to say he's going to suck based on, what like 2 meaningless games, isn't warrented by anything other than haterade
8/22/2006 3:56:02 PM
i watched the whole gameand i called him a flop before the preseason even started
8/22/2006 3:59:50 PM
im sure you wouldn't call philip rivers a flop even though the only real games he's played in the NFL were mediocrei can see hating on Reggie Bush if he were a loud mouthed son of a bitch who talked trash all the time, but he's notand that's why i think youre sippin on haterade- you just don't like him period.
8/22/2006 4:06:08 PM
- Rivers is a flop so far- Bush got 100x the hype in college that Rivers did...hence people expect moremaybe you're onto something though...I don't think Bush will be a great NFL player, but that view is probably multiplied by the Michael Vick-esque dickriding that ESPN is already doingi mean on sportscenter last night they broke down every single play by Bush in the game...let him just play
8/22/2006 4:19:55 PM
yeh on sc this morning they were basically sucking his dick just because he is reggie bush on a play where he didn't really do jack.I'm sure they will be just as quick to point out any double teams that Mario draws.[Edited on August 22, 2006 at 4:24 PM. Reason : hsd]
8/22/2006 4:23:58 PM
when was the last time the media sucked any NFL player's cock who wasn't a QB, RB, or WR?yeah...
8/22/2006 4:31:27 PM
yeah whens the last time they sucked anybody's cock more than Vick or Bush? never yeah
8/22/2006 4:38:29 PM
^^ they suck Vinateri's cock, and also you left out coaches who routinely get their knobs slobbed.
8/22/2006 5:04:57 PM
OMG, one mediocre game!!!! he's gonna suck!!! but yeah, i know, he's got some things to learn before he's a superstar. but i still claim that he won't be a flop. look, bush will be ok. i'm not saying he's the next barry sanders, but he'll be ok. and i'll go out on a limb and say that he could play every down if necessary. he can take the hits. i mean, seriously, size does not equal durabilty in the nfl anyway. what about stephen davis, deuce, edgerrin james, jamaal lewis, fred taylor etc etc?? all of them suffered some serious injuries over the course of their careers, and they're all over 225 lbs. reggie bush: 5'11", 200 lbsthurman thomas: 5'10", 199 lbsi don't ever remember thurman missing any major games due to injury, and he definitely played every down. and i've already pointed out in this thread that bush is bigger and stronger than two of the nfl's current most durable backs, tiki barber and warrick dunn.
8/23/2006 12:21:44 AM
just to do a little devils advocate here,Edge came into the league at around 205 (now 215)Stephen Davis came in at 215 (now 235ish)I forgot what Jamal Lewis weighed as a rookie, but it wasn't 245Deuce was 219 (now 232)Fragile Freddy was 223 (now 238)and all of those guys had knee injuries at some point in their careers. With an average weight gain of 15 lbs amongst the guys I immediately know about, you can see that such an increase affects the knees. Hell, I'm pretty fit; I played HS basketball at 190 lbs, now I weigh 217 and I have knee problems too... and I don't hoop nearly as heavily as these guys play football. All that to say: size may not guarantee durability, but sustained size will.I honestly couldn't see Bush as the same player at 215 as he is now at 200.

He sure did look pretty damn good today.
9/10/2006 5:56:47 PM
Thank you 5th round pick Reggie[Edited on September 10, 2006 at 5:58 PM. Reason : yeah]
9/10/2006 5:58:33 PM
yeah its ridiculous to act like Bush isn't gonna be sick. You'd have to be an idiot to predict that after seeing him in college.Still, some people are just haters.
9/10/2006 7:21:26 PM
i still haven't seen him do anything against a real defense
9/10/2006 7:26:33 PM
he put up some damn good numbers against a so-so defense today i'll give him that
9/10/2006 7:27:08 PM
9/10/2006 7:28:59 PM
Actually the Browns have a pretty good defense. It's not the Bears or the Ravens but its top half in the league. And he had what 119 yards in his first game? He's on pace for almost 2,000 yards...[Edited on September 10, 2006 at 7:30 PM. Reason : a]
9/10/2006 7:30:01 PM
i just figured the 2nd coming of god/vick would have scored
9/10/2006 7:32:16 PM
\/ what he said.[Edited on September 10, 2006 at 7:34 PM. Reason : fdh]
9/10/2006 7:33:01 PM
The Browns were 30th in the league against the run last year.Their defense is garbage.
9/10/2006 7:33:40 PM
some people think everybody in the north has a good defense just because baltimore and pitt do
9/10/2006 7:34:08 PM
you would say the 9ers have a pretty good defense if he was playing against the 9ers
9/10/2006 7:34:55 PM
i will concede he did better than i thought in his first game though
9/10/2006 7:35:55 PM
He looked pretty good today, I'll give him that much[Edited on September 10, 2006 at 7:36 PM. Reason : Still saw none of this Touchdown Jesus II that you people think he'll be]

Mario wasn't very good today, either. Announcers said he was bood loudly today.

Larry Johnson didnt score, eh?http://thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=424479

bunch of asshats in houston.

9/10/2006 7:43:08 PM
What's the problem? It's not like he is taking an extreme position by saying Bush will be an all out flop like SOME people are. The guy is freaking talented. I don't know why State fans have to hate on players because they feel one of our own was disrespected (in this case Mario). It's not like Reggie Bush is telling people to criticize the Texans for not taking him[Edited on September 10, 2006 at 7:46 PM. Reason : x]
9/10/2006 7:45:51 PM
vince young will be an outright flop imoReggie bush will not be the jesus most make him out to be, sorry.and a good game against one of the worst rushing Ds in the league does not prove me wrong.[Edited on September 10, 2006 at 7:50 PM. Reason : fdh]
9/10/2006 7:47:23 PM
So are you saying Larry Johnson's 150 yards were overrated because he didn't score in ONE game? You are jsut crazy.
9/10/2006 7:47:24 PM
^^^if you've read through this thread you'll see, with the exception of the thread title, i think bush will be a pretty good nfl player, but not the next ladainian/barry/walter/sayers like everybody else likes to think^no...and im more surprised by alexander's performance...but LJ still wont get 2000 yards like everybody says...he had 68 rushing yards today...score or not, he had 68 rushing yards today]
9/10/2006 7:47:28 PM
I did read through it and there are TONS of people who think he will be an all-out bust. Doesn't matter whether or not you think it.
9/10/2006 7:48:42 PM
i've heard a lot more people think he will be the 2nd coming of god
9/10/2006 7:49:44 PM
I'm with TT10... I don't think he will fail, but the hype/expectations/hoopla/save the world that's been coming out of nearly every sportswriter's ass since... goddam I don't remember WHEN exactly this shit started, but it's disgusting

here nym410, go to google and enter this in the box:reggie bush sam bowieignoring the mario williams dissing entirely, just read the way people write about bush.also, it should be noted that a Saints rookie scored his first TD today.he was the 5th-to-last pick in the draft.considered by some to be a tweener (WR/TE), most to not make the roster, he's now starting at WR opposite Joe Horn.MARQUES COLSTON.I've yet to see his touchdown catch in any halftime show, postgame show, or at any point of my watching NFL Network. However, I've been treated to various Reggie Bush runs all day. I've been treated to commentators tripping over their words just to talk about Reggie Bush in games that he isn't even playing in.When Josh Bullocks caught the game-clinching INT, a commentator said "BUSH-Bullocks with the INT, and this game is over"
