that is exactly the point i was trying to make i just didn't put it in words right

if we are going to recruit on the same level and get the best of the best here, then we have to beat duke and unc for those players; that is hard to do when they are SO good every single year and are so close to us

I would love to see an ACC referree try to give Burleson a T. Burleson always reminds me of the guy off of Happy Gilmore with the nail stuck in his head.

Mike Anderson. We have to be a step up from UAB. I am sure he will go somewhere soon.

Its a well known fact among my circle of friends that I started hating on Herb this year. Sorry I did not announce it to the Wolf Web prior.

omg, according to PackPride, Pitino, Calipari, Tubby Smith, Nate McMillan, Bruce Pearl, Billy Donovan, and Bill Self are realistic choices to come coach at NC State!

I say dont stop there, lets get Jim Boeheim or Roy Williams or Jim Calhoun!

is it even realistic to think that Calipari, Donovan or Alford would come here? Have any of them indicated that they'd be interested?

Also, my question with Alford, is would he make us that much better than Herb?

I think Donovan or Calipari could be good...but Alford?

I would estimate that Alford will be heading home to IU after his season's over.... But considering the season he's had, he might just get the money to stick around Iowa....

well i dunno, he's a good basketball coach stuck in a football conference at a school where he knows he'll always have to play second fiddle to their football program. NCSU would give him an opportunity to come compete in arguably the best conference in the country...at a school with a rich history, great facilities and strong alumni giving.

Doesn't seem altogether impossible...

yeah...strong alumni giving him shit if his team loses a few games

strong alumni cussing him out in front of his team

strong alumni whining to the papers and the radio every time something goes wrong

strong alumni boycotting games during a season where we ultimately made it to the Sweet 16

even though he would never come here, the only person I would ever seek out to hire over Herb would be the great Bob Knight.

Now that would be some good shit.

According to the Packman on WFNZ Larry Brown would be interested in coaching at State, which just goes to show that there are big name coaches who are a helluva lot better than Herb that are interested in coaching here.

Yea, OK. Larry Brown is going to reneg on his RIDICULOUS contract in his dream job (yes he is struggling but his lifelong dream was to be Knicks head coach -- too bad Isiah is fucking that up) to make a mil/yr at the rival of his alma mater.

HOLY FUCK!

Please tell me you don't seriously think that is ANYTHING but a joke..

It would be hard to get Donovan to come to state for the same reasons that it would be near impossible to lure Pitino here (which was being discussed after the Celtics debacle)
