Unless Ole Miss can get Norm Chow as OC, he'll be wearing red and white at State. Then the games with UT become a little more interesting.
12/28/2005 11:07:50 AM
fwiw, amato, stroud, cignetti, and trestman will be in-home with schaeffer tonight.
1/4/2006 2:45:15 PM
in home as in at his house? or in home like invited him inI really think this dude is coming here and am sooooo glad to hear it, especially after watching a mobile QB can do in these BCS games like the Dub V QB...I really want you to come Brent
1/4/2006 2:46:52 PM
they'll all be at his house...
1/4/2006 2:54:34 PM
c'mon Amato. Don't wear your clown shoes. Be normal. Re-run that tape of you dodging the gatorade bath.
1/4/2006 2:57:04 PM
sing to him if you have toit worked for AJ Davis
1/4/2006 2:59:06 PM
we're sending all of our main coaches to his housecan you imagine how special thats got to make him feel. these guys that he just saw on tv the other day leading our team to a bowl victory. I think we've got him. Amato is a damn good recruiter
1/4/2006 3:06:00 PM
i hope he remembers to mention all the height and speed we'll have a wide reciever in the future...we'll have 3 guys at 6-5 i believe. perfect for making plays in the endzone brent!
1/4/2006 3:06:07 PM
Again, Phish said it but maybe it didn't get across to everyone. All coaches recruiting him will get an in-home. It wasn't like he called and asked Amato over for dinner. We're not the only school doing it
1/4/2006 5:52:43 PM
brent schaeffer is gunna go to VT, i know this because as soon as marcus vick started f'in up, guess who showed up on his list of colleges?? yep, VT and they have made an offer. I guarantee you that's where he goes...dammit i knew this would happen
1/10/2006 7:35:23 AM
Wouldn't be surprised with that either. We're all better off forgetting about him... if we land him, all the better. I'm personally not going to shed any tears.... I'm sick of hearing about him
1/10/2006 7:40:02 AM
hell yeah me too
1/10/2006 7:43:59 AM
I was thinking about that same thing this weekend. He is gonna leave us at the alter again. Marcus Stone in '06
1/10/2006 8:31:16 AM
The way he's been handling this...I hope somebody pops him a good one next season.
1/10/2006 8:50:18 AM
Shit, as much as I hate to say it, he was smart to wait so long. Going to VT will be a much better situation for him than NCSU. I can't blame him for doing what's best for him.Besides, QB is just one of many problems we're gonna have to deal with next year.
1/10/2006 8:53:04 AM
1/10/2006 9:18:21 AM
1/10/2006 9:42:02 AM
BTW...since Marcus Vick got kicked off...now VT is all over Brent and we have about zero chance.Brent will be in the SEC or Blacksburg before coming here. No need to have our hopes up this time.

College of Sequoias quarterback Brent Schaeffer has re-worked his official visit list again. After having his list down to one school earlier, the list expanded to two and now it is wide open again – at least as open as four schools can make a race.Brent Schaeffer has removed K-State and added Virginia Tech to his list. "I guess you could say that Brent has lost some interest in Kansas State," C.O.S. offensive coordinator Andy Siegal said. "It isn't because of Freeman coming, but I guess you could call it a mutual splitting of the ways. He isn't interested in them any longer and they aren't really interested in him."With the Wildcats out of the running for the five-star rated prospect the list is still sitting at four schools for the Deerfield Beach, Fla., native."He called me this morning to tell me that there are four schools he is looking at," Siegal said. "He will go to one of these four; Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Ole Miss and N.C. State. I don't know what day he will visit Virginia Tech, but they are a new one for him. He has Ole Miss scheduled for this week and he has already been to N.C. State and Wisconsin."He had it down to Wisconsin. He was going there. Then K-State got back in the mix for him. Then he added the others back in. Ole Miss was out, I guess you could say, then they called and let him know that (Dan) Werner was going to be their new offensive coordinator. Werner and Art Kehoe are both coming to Ole Miss from Miami. He was pretty interested in them because of that, so they are still under consideration. This season in Siegal's offense, Schaeffer threw for 2,976 yards with 40 touchdowns and six interceptions. Schaeffer also rushed for 854 yards and 10 touchdowns.Schaeffer's teammate, Darius Passmore continues to be interested in the Wildcats according to Siegal."Last I heard from Darius was that he was visiting K-State the weekend of the 20th. I talked to Darius' step dad just the other day and he said that was still scheduled. He will be back here in a week or so, then I'll know everything he's up to again."One Sequoias player that won't be signing any place this February is McIntosh Nicolas. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder won't be getting out this year."McIntosh Nicolas will be back here at Sequoias next year," Siegal said. "He just won't be done in time. He'll be back playing for us in 2006."
1/10/2006 10:43:52 AM
I hope he's better at decision making on the field.
1/10/2006 10:55:50 AM
I will be shocked if he ends up anywhere but VPI
1/10/2006 11:13:20 AM
^ if i were a betting man i'd put money on him going there as well
1/10/2006 11:19:52 AM
Things to consider:-His interest on VTinsider.com is marked "low." What does this mean?-Cold weather. This kid is from Florida. It might not seem like much, but I know the weather is one of the only reasons I didn't go to school there.
1/10/2006 11:30:09 AM
Things to consider:- At VT you can give 14 year-old girls alcohol, tape them getting naked, and maybe even screw them and still play.- At VT you can get pulled for speeding and have pot in the car and still be on the team.As long as he acts like a normal athlete he'll be angel by VT standards.
1/10/2006 11:33:52 AM
We're not talking about their interest in him, which should be obvious enough given their current QB situation. We're talking about his interest in going there.
1/10/2006 11:38:07 AM
As much as I would love for him to come here, i don't see why he would pass up the offer on VTech to come here. Granted VTech has colder weather, but they also have the oppertunity to play in the National Game within the next year or so. He could also fit right into their offensive scheme.
1/10/2006 11:45:11 AM
1/10/2006 11:46:30 AM
with ole miss getting Miami's old OC i really would be suprised if he didnt go there
1/10/2006 12:47:54 PM
^That helps but they still are pretty much garbage...He needs to be on a team that wins. I think if he goes there he just really wants to be in the SEC.
1/10/2006 12:56:29 PM
I still am hearing we have Shaeffer (Our staff thinks they do).... but that was before the VT thing. I still say we're in the drivers seat. However, I no longer care. It'd be great to have him, but I'm so sick of following this guy's recruiting. There's no telling what's going on in that crazy mind of his. Even though I think we're still his #1, I'd imagine Beamer will pull his typical negative recruiting tactics towards NC State (and everyone else) and we'll get left at the altar again. Move on....and maybe we'll be up for a surprise
1/10/2006 12:57:38 PM
it appears every staff thinks they have him
1/10/2006 1:01:11 PM
^ I agree on that as well. From what I understand, we've gotten a commitment (At least I've heard second-handedly). Then again, welcome to 2 years ago. I'm sure he's committed to Ole Miss and Wisconsin too. I know that Ole Miss thinks he's there's to lose as well. Don't think Wiscy feels that way.. before VPI, it seemed to be a Miss/NCSU battle (And both think they have him)
1/10/2006 1:03:41 PM
"He had it down to Wisconsin. He was going there. Then K-State got back in the mix for him. Then he added the others back in."This kid is confused as Marcus Stone during a blitz.
1/10/2006 1:40:07 PM
i have been tired of hearing about for a year now, glad to see some of you are joining my side
1/10/2006 1:44:38 PM
He made a bad decision the first go around. His recruiting has been pretty straight-forward this time... he's checking out every option to the fullest. We need the guy, but as long as he doesn't end up at VT (if he doesn't visit, no way they get him) then I'll be fine.
1/10/2006 1:59:31 PM
He already fucked us once, why not do it again?
1/10/2006 2:01:22 PM
vt doesnt have anything else at qb? jesus christ we just cant win anything. good players wont come. the ones that do come and stay are busts the ones that are good leave.

Our staff's felt real good about this one for awhile, but we did last time too. Hopefully our loyalty to him win's in the end.
1/20/2006 9:47:08 AM
i was on the scout.com ole miss board and someone said "their sources close to the situation" said schaeffer decided on ole miss.i hope this isnt the case
1/20/2006 10:27:41 AM
OM is new to the BS process...I gaurantee he's told every school they have him. They're a bit over-confident if you ask me, we know how he operates a bit more.
1/20/2006 10:42:40 AM
He's a Badger.Has anyone ever been to UWisc? I sure as hell wouldnt go to state after being up there for a weekend.
1/20/2006 10:43:42 AM
